Welcome to Camp Wilder! We are an off-the-beaten-path camp offering peace and solitude. The cabin is very special to my family and me. It was passed down as a mining claim from my grandmother who founded it in the '60s. The vision for the land was simply perfect. A small 10 x 10 cabin with the whole mountain to explore and whoever they wished to bring with them. The town of Nederland is 10 minutes down the road where you can fish at Baker Reservoir. Lots of fun little stores in town to keep the family busy. Wildlife is everywhere up by the cabin/campsite, always remember don't leave food lying around with lots of great things to look for around the magical town of Nederland. The cabin sleeps up to 8 with the futon downstairs being very comfortable and 3" foam upstairs in the loft for more sleeping area. Bring your sleeping bags to stay cozy at night. There are lanterns inside to light up your night with a wood stove to keep you warm at night. The ground around it is sloped so you may have a hard time setting up any tents around the cabin. The grocery store is in Nederland where you can buy food, Coleman green propane bottles, gallon jugs of water and wood. There is a 3 burner Coleman, stove to cook on with limited pots & pans as well as silverware. Road disclaimer, the road to the cabin is one lane dirt road. The drive up to the cabin is pretty good but the turn onto the single dirt road to the cabin has a slight dip, if you have a low-clearance car it may bottom out when you are turning so be careful. No Trailers. They will not be able to turn around once there. Recommend vehicles with AWD. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles. Park on the left. Hike down to the cabin between yellow stakes. We are @ 10,000 feet and it is a slight hike to the cabin. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles When leaving please make sure both door locks are locked, put the key in the lock box and mix the code for the next camper.

Second time camping here and another relaxing weekend! Easy to find with the host’s directions and is very quiet but close enough to town. Able to get to site with a FWD SUV but would not want to attempt in snow or heavier mud/rain. Will likely be back again!

We loved our experience! We made it in time to peep the fall leaves and also got to experience a beautiful pink sunset. The tent site was large enough to pull our VW van into and gave us room to pop the top. Despite other campers staying in the cabin across the way, it was quiet and we felt very secluded (what we were looking for!). Our two dogs also had a blast and spent a ton of time exploring the woods. 10/10 recommend. Will absolutely be back to both the tent site and are already looking to make plans to book the cabin site soon. Thank you so much for opening up your space to us!

Camping here was absolutely wonderful! From the drive up to the view from the porch, the scenery was gorgeous. The site itself is a bit tricky to find which was my only issue. Otherwise the location is perfect, and the lodging was stocked with a multitude of useful resources. I would definitely visit again!

I loved camping on this site with some friends! We had 10 total people and it was the perfect size for our group. Easy to find and only 15 minutes from Lake Estes. The picnic table, trash receptacle, and port a potty made our load light for our one night of camping. Heidi was responsive and detailed, and has a great spot with the river. As far as noise, we only heard a few cars pass by when in our tents that weren’t a real bother, but the sound of the water was peaceful to fall asleep to. Listen to the cinnamon bun advice! We wanted more than 6 buns so we had to order the day before (definitely do!). We enjoyed being right by town to walk to grab any last minute needs. Next time I would love to dine at the bed & breakfast in town for dinner. Overall, Heidi was a superhost for us!

Camp Wilder was a blast! Our group of 9 had a ton of space. It's very quiet and peaceful, fantastic for noisy kids. There is a standard porta-potty 50 ft from the campground. The road is accessible, and it never felt like sketchy off-roading. I'll definitely be coming back!

Booking the whole property felt like a secluded dream! Nights were so quiet and completely private, and it was wonderful letting the dogs roam off leash. The mountain views were unbeatable—especially with the evening fog rolling through. The patio was the perfect spot to watch hummingbirds and soak it all in, and the picnic table made a great place for dinner. We brought our own coffee setup and bedding, but there was a Coleman stove and some handy amenities available. The campsite itself was huge, with plenty of room for multiple tents and several fire pits to enjoy (when there isn’t a fire ban). The porta potty was where we parked our car, so it wasn’t a far walk at all!

What a wonderful experience! We took a 40’ motor home in and out easily. It’s also close to the main road in and out. Tommy and Tiffany are both wonderful people, very inviting and the camping spaces are quite private and quiet with views of horses in a pasture and goats occasionally herded one way or another. The community is awesome, very welcoming, and the onsite Rigby’s offers good food and great live music. There is a new small building with restrooms and a shower in one of them. Electric, up to 50amp (bring an adapter if you are set up for 30 amp) and water hookups. Dump station right next to property. Definitely recommend. I will go here again

We can handle RVs up to 45 feet - truck and trailer. It’s a big field, but a narrow, winding and steep gravel ramp to get in and out. We have a community fire pit with free burn wood, though the big logs are few and far between; your own firewood is recommended - as well as an ax or saw. If it's windy, please skip the fire... the BFD is very strict about this!! We have well water feeding a solar shower (only hot when the sun shines) and sink (non potable unless you have a filter). - CLOSED FOR THE WINTER We have a wading / dog pool continually refreshed from the creek. I just built a new filter!! It’s a saving grace in the summertime. - CLOSED FOR THE WINTER We have a community gas grill - please donate to the propane fund.
