We have 1.75 acres.  The history of this property is interesting, varied and historical.  During WWII the property was used as a detainment camp for German POW's.  They were transferred here from Trinidad and Walsenburg CO to work with the farmers in the community, working potatoes.  It was a happy, fruitful work situation and some of the farmers/POW's became good friends, even traveling to visit each other after the war.  Parts of the building are still there. Serendipity.  The land has served as an auto junk yard, repair shop, metal scrap yard, thrift store and more.  As we have worked on the property we have found many treasures that are working their way to the surface.   The location of the property we feel is perfect.  You can get everywhere from here.  We are in the city of Monte Vista limits, town is walking distance.  It sits in the middle of what makes the valley thrive.  Farming (Cows & hay) to the East.  There is also a beautiful view of Mt Blanca and the Sange de Christo mountain range.  When the sun sets you understand the beauty of the mountain and understand why is was named Blood of Christ. There is one fire pit for now, but working on others.  Some firewood is provide.  There are picnic tables in the community area and we are moving toward a working community kitchen.  We are still doing improvements and setup but would love to have you stay with us.  We welcome feedback.  There are 2 porta potties and some non-potable water to use.  For now, come and set up camp where you please.  The tents are not ready yet as we need to glamp them up a little.  Will get them listed as soon as they are ready,  We do allow pets, on leash in the campground.  One of the other amenities we are building is an agility dog park that will be available to campers and members from the community.

We are closed for the season. PLEASE READ IN ITS ENTIRETY The Rabbit Hole Ranch offers beautiful night skies with little to no light pollution and unobstructed views of the majestic Blanca Massif. The Great Sand Dunes and Zapata Falls is just a (gorgeous) 35 minute drive. Camping here at the Rabbit Hole Ranch is primitive and dispersed (no numbered sites) and there 30 acres available for you to use. Just follow the signs to the designated area and pick out a spot you like. Some spots have fire rings, some don’t. We are working on getting more, but in the meantime you’re welcome to bring your own. Or feel free to dig out a little hole. It works great and is easy to extinguish when you fill it back in and bury it. Please do not bury any trash. Typically, you will experience a rare kind of solitude and silence that feels…. other-worldly, with incredible sunrises and sunsets filling the enormous skies. On holidays, however, expect it to be busy. Our dogs are working dogs and they are more than happy to help keep you and your pets safe. Please help make their jobs easier by not leaving any food or trash in or around tents. Please keep your pets on leash or under control until you’re comfortably certain they get along with our dogs. And please report any issues promptly. This year we have a new Great Pyrenees to greet you, her name is Boudicca and she’s excited to meet everyone! Mono Loco Flats is an excellent home base for exploring the San Luis Valley. Sangre de Cristo Creek is a short hike or drive to the south. Fort Garland is a 10-minute drive. All three sites provide 360 panoramic views with epic sunrise and sunset views of Mount Blanca. Wild horses and prong horned antelope may wander the Mesa as you enjoy your camp. The natural beauty of these three campsites is worth protecting so please if you pack it in, pack it out. This is a dry camp with no toilet or garbage facilities. Please treat this land with respect so that future campers may enjoy the land free of rubbish. All three campsites are accessible with any type of vehicle, and the long driveway and turnaround can accommodate any trailer or RV up to 20'. As the Scenic Passenger Train is heard in the distance you'll look up towards Mount Blanca and imagine your next adventure living among the wildflowers of this High Desert Mountain Hipcamp. After recovering from a wildfire, the ancient sage brushes that had previously made the land harsh and unwelcoming are nearly gone, replaced with an abundance of grasses and wildflowers if blessed with rains. Open Land as far as you can go to the East you'll follow the Coyote canyon to high mountain lookouts. There are old logging maintenance roads you could take advantage of, so Hike, Bike or Motor around the local area. Fort Garland and Blanca have a community center (pool), septic dump and water fill and can provide groceries. The Great Sand dunes are about 45 minutes away. The Sand Dunes swimming pool, fed by a very hot artisan well is about an hour away. Mountain Home Lake is also within 1/2 an hour or so for fishing/water sports with a nice boat ramp. Escape from light pollution like never before, a clear night sky will make the whole trip worthwhile! Lots of wild life and you will most likely see some deer, hear the coyotes, and count the different colors of the humming birds. You can book a train ride out of Alamosa, and visit the local historic towns. The views will make it hard to leave the campsite, but there are tons of experiences and things to do in the area so make sure to do some research before you arrive.  The weather and wind can be unpredictable in the mountains, so be prepared.  There are two entrances onto the property, one at the bottom and one at the top. You can avoid some wind by camping near Lewis-Smith Rd at the lowest part of the land.  Also, the site can accommodate large trailers/RV's but just make sure to plan your entrance/exit carefully and don't go to far down the hills.  Just choose a wise spot to park if in a big rig.  There are some small tires around that you can use to sit on or if you dig a hole that you fill in before leaving you can make a temporary toilet.  Make sure to haul out all your trash and leave the site cleaner than it was when you arrived and respect the land.  If you do come across a mess from the previous camper and clean it up, just let us know and we will give you a refund for the night. We have 1.75 acres.  The history of this property is interesting, varied and historical.  During WWII the property was used as a detainment camp for German POW's.  They were transferred here from Trinidad and Walsenburg CO to work with the farmers in the community, working potatoes.  It was a happy, fruitful work situation and some of the farmers/POW's became good friends, even traveling to visit each other after the war.  Parts of the building are still there. Serendipity.  The land has served as an auto junk yard, repair shop, metal scrap yard, thrift store and more.  As we have worked on the property we have found many treasures that are working their way to the surface.   The location of the property we feel is perfect.  You can get everywhere from here.  We are in the city of Monte Vista limits, town is walking distance.  It sits in the middle of what makes the valley thrive.  Farming (Cows & hay) to the East.  There is also a beautiful view of Mt Blanca and the Sange de Christo mountain range.  When the sun sets you understand the beauty of the mountain and understand why is was named Blood of Christ. There is one fire pit for now, but working on others.  Some firewood is provide.  There are picnic tables in the community area and we are moving toward a working community kitchen.  We are still doing improvements and setup but would love to have you stay with us.  We welcome feedback.  There are 2 porta potties and some non-potable water to use.  For now, come and set up camp where you please.  The tents are not ready yet as we need to glamp them up a little.  Will get them listed as soon as they are ready,  We do allow pets, on leash in the campground.  One of the other amenities we are building is an agility dog park that will be available to campers and members from the community.

We are closed for the season. PLEASE READ IN ITS ENTIRETY The Rabbit Hole Ranch offers beautiful night skies with little to no light pollution and unobstructed views of the majestic Blanca Massif. The Great Sand Dunes and Zapata Falls is just a (gorgeous) 35 minute drive. Camping here at the Rabbit Hole Ranch is primitive and dispersed (no numbered sites) and there 30 acres available for you to use. Just follow the signs to the designated area and pick out a spot you like. Some spots have fire rings, some don’t. We are working on getting more, but in the meantime you’re welcome to bring your own. Or feel free to dig out a little hole. It works great and is easy to extinguish when you fill it back in and bury it. Please do not bury any trash. Typically, you will experience a rare kind of solitude and silence that feels…. other-worldly, with incredible sunrises and sunsets filling the enormous skies. On holidays, however, expect it to be busy. Our dogs are working dogs and they are more than happy to help keep you and your pets safe. Please help make their jobs easier by not leaving any food or trash in or around tents. Please keep your pets on leash or under control until you’re comfortably certain they get along with our dogs. And please report any issues promptly. This year we have a new Great Pyrenees to greet you, her name is Boudicca and she’s excited to meet everyone! After recovering from a wildfire, the ancient sage brushes that had previously made the land harsh and unwelcoming are nearly gone, replaced with an abundance of grasses and wildflowers if blessed with rains. Open Land as far as you can go to the East you'll follow the Coyote canyon to high mountain lookouts. There are old logging maintenance roads you could take advantage of, so Hike, Bike or Motor around the local area. Fort Garland and Blanca have a community center (pool), septic dump and water fill and can provide groceries. The Great Sand dunes are about 45 minutes away. The Sand Dunes swimming pool, fed by a very hot artisan well is about an hour away. Mountain Home Lake is also within 1/2 an hour or so for fishing/water sports with a nice boat ramp. Escape from light pollution like never before, a clear night sky will make the whole trip worthwhile! Lots of wild life and you will most likely see some deer, hear the coyotes, and count the different colors of the humming birds. You can book a train ride out of Alamosa, and visit the local historic towns. The views will make it hard to leave the campsite, but there are tons of experiences and things to do in the area so make sure to do some research before you arrive.  The weather and wind can be unpredictable in the mountains, so be prepared.  There are two entrances onto the property, one at the bottom and one at the top. You can avoid some wind by camping near Lewis-Smith Rd at the lowest part of the land.  Also, the site can accommodate large trailers/RV's but just make sure to plan your entrance/exit carefully and don't go to far down the hills.  Just choose a wise spot to park if in a big rig.  There are some small tires around that you can use to sit on or if you dig a hole that you fill in before leaving you can make a temporary toilet.  Make sure to haul out all your trash and leave the site cleaner than it was when you arrived and respect the land.  If you do come across a mess from the previous camper and clean it up, just let us know and we will give you a refund for the night. It's surrounded by an industrial area, with that being said it's secure gated property, quiet, no one bothers you or your campsite, porta potty was clean has a light in it at night, bring your own toilet paper. If you don't care about the scenery you just need a quiet secure place to stay for a little while I would recommend kalli's land.

This is a great location, about 30 minutes away from the sand dunes. It’s definitely big rough friendly, so it was overkill for me in my little van. The orchard site was perfect and secluded. I was car camping with my dog, and we had a cozy evening by the fire, under a sky lit up with stars. Having the toilet nearby was convenient, especially with how cold it was the night we were there. We walked over to watch the horses in the morning and enjoy the views. I would stay there again!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a great stay here! The hosts were kind and welcoming, and as a solo traveler, I felt completely safe the whole time. It was peaceful, easy to find, and exactly what I needed for my trip. The porta potty was great for emergencies, but just know it’s a basic setup. Also the sunrises are incredible from this spot! Overall, I’d definitely recommend!

we arrived late in the evening and was grateful that the host met us to help back in because site 1 is a little tricky. I had a 19ft Sprinter and it was fine. Actually we were able to park both Sprinters parallel on site 1. Try to make sure you get there before sunset, cuz the road is narrow and the hip camp is a little tricky to locate. It is off the main highway but close enough to hear traffic but quiets down in the evening. Grateful for the electric hookup and water spout and trash can. Felt very safe. Very good price for all that is offered.

This place was great! So thoughtfully designed -- even though there aren't any trees, the campsites are situated so that you can't really see one another when you're in your little space. Lots of little touches, like the lights along the pathway, a nice playground in the park, the cantina in the middle, make it a really pleasant stay. And the showers! Very very nice showers. The host, Adam, was really friendly and accommodating, and we had a really nice stay the very last day of the season. Will definitely return!

Excellent place to stay if you are looking to explore the natural wonders amongst the Rio Grande Gorge and Taos area. Nice level spot just off the state highway. Easy access down into downtown Taos and up to Taos Ski Valley. We didn't get to meet Kelly as we were in and out fairly quick, but we were sent very clear instructions on finding the property, and we appreciated her local hiking and restaurant tips. We also didn't end up using the amenities during our quick overnight stay, but offering power, water, trash services, and a clean porta-potty for this price was very kind. There was some light road noise as the sites backup onto the highway, but we still had a restful night of sleep. We did hear lots of coyote calls in the distance which was pretty cool! Site 1 is the smallest of the three RV sites as it has a large tree off the side, but it was still easy to back into with our 19' camper. Would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area!

5 off-grid acres down the road from Great Sand Dunes National Park! The property will be marked with painted sticks, spaced about 30ft apart from one another. You will need to access the property by turning onto Highway 150, then a left onto 3rd St. Next, take the first right onto Ash St, then the first right onto 4th St. Go down the road and locate our property on the left side of the road. The approximate coordinates for the front of our lot are 37.4932, -105.6076. We recommend using Google Maps to get there. Apple Maps does not do as well with coordinates. Feel free to take your vehicle off the driveway, just be mindful of our land! There will also be a fire pit for your convenience, but do not leave any trash or food after you leave. Welcome to the Scott Ranch located 10 minutes east of South Fork, CO. Our ranch is easily accessible via a flat, state-maintained road, just seconds off Highway 160. Our family purchased the ranch a couple years ago. We are native Coloradoans who are interested in conservation. The Scott Ranch is a 147 acre, conserved ranch and boasts some of the most beautiful riparian grassland in the valley. We have hundreds of tall cottonwoods bordering 7/10th mile of private, gold medal water on the Rio Grande river. There are literally thousands of species of plants and animals on the property. Come enjoy the incredible sunset views from the firepit perched high above the large pond and be prepared for one the best stargazing experiences in the valley! Please know that we are not an RV park, nor do we want to be. We have only three sites overlooking the lower river corridor. This is intentional because we want your experience to be focused on the beauty of the ranch. The sites are flat and relatively private. Each site is 26x80 (easy pull through) with individual access to power (50 amp, 30 amp and 110 outlet) and water. There is common area that includes a large firepit, small table and charcoal grill for your enjoyment. You also have immediate access to a septic system station next to the sites, at your convenience. The Scott ranch is a working ranch. The lower corridor of the ranch will have livestock (cattle) grazing for several weeks out of the year. (Calving season is adorable!) For insurance reasons, guest access to the lower pastures and river corridor -- defined as any part of the ranch beyond the RV sites -- is only allowed through a separate reservation. If you are interested fly fishing our gold medal waters or simply want to explore the ranch's forest and pastures, please book an RV site first. Access to any part of the ranch beyond RV sites is foot traffic only and 75$ per person per day, unless otherwise arranged. It's first come first serve, limited to one group per day (arranged separately after the RV reservation is paid). Yes, we've allowed riverside camping -- a truly epic experience -- with trust and prior authorization. Fishing is limited to fly rods only. Artificial flies only. Catch and release only.
