The Ute Lodge was homesteaded in the 1930’s by Joe Fox who after leaving the military came west to settle in the White River valley. Joe was known for his friendliness, hospitality and wild stories. Today you might find much of the same. From Joe’s day to today it is a place where families come together to get away. The Ute Lodge is now owned by Karl and Mona Maser who celebrated 20 years of ownership summer of 2019! All summer our cabins are filled with guests from all over the US as well as international travelers. If you are looking for something very remote with full hook ups this is a great place to stay. This is a farm on private property. We were left alone the 3 nights we stayed. If you have scrapes left from a meal, you can feed them to the pigs. We would come back.

So peaceful and beautiful. Great trails for some hiking and the pond was a great place to spend some time. Loved sitting outside with morning coffee and listening to the creek and animals. Loved hearing the horses, ducks, chickens and pigs. She was nice and a pleasure to talk too and her 2 dogs are so friendly and sweet. Was very helpful and helped accommodate us with our 45’ foot rig. Had a nice area with a sand box, swings, basketball and games and an area for bonfire. Well worth the visit!

It was nice being in close proximity to so many trails, but the cabin was also great for a cozy place to read, watch hummingbirds, and relax. I also appreciated the trails recommendations from Patrick and plan to come back to explore them!

Beautiful little campground in a small, quiet town. Wonderful views, and so many stars at night. The bathrooms were clean with lots of space. I liked that the tent sites were at the back of the campground in their own quiet area. I hope to visit again!

All set up with linens, towels, soaps etc. clean and neat. Tiny kitchen. Don’t plan big dinners. There is a grill and propane. No inside table. Small sofa. Very nice loft sleeping area. Bed is very comfortable. Slept great! Bathroom is tiny but fine. No more than 2-3 people for sure. Campground is adorable! Looks like a Western town with all the different tiny homes. Nice outdoor fire pit for all to use. Definitely highly recommend.

The area is beautiful and the cabin is very comfortable and well maintained. Deb had some really great stories and information on wildlife in the area when she greeted us. Overall the stay was amazing. Would highly recommend.

Home on Wheels is a truly sweet and special place. Hosts Mona, Carl and Martina could not be nicer. It was so fun to enjoy the farm life, pet the horses, feed the pigs our scraps, listen to the chickens, play the games and sit by the community fire. We mainly hiked and fished all over the gorgeous area. We will be back!

Great getaway! Everyone on site was friendly and helpful. Place was cozy and peaceful. Lots of hiking and fishing on site and near by. Definitely a little gem hiding in the mountains.

We had a great stay here. We appreciated all the kitchen supplies and other amenities. It was very peaceful and we saw moose and deer just off our porch. We recommend the rainbow lakes trail at the end of the street it was fantastic.

Weekend Trip to Boyer YL Ranch

We had the most incredible stay at Boyer YL Ranch in Wyoming! We stayed in the historic barn loft and it was absolutely magical—full of charm, peacefulness, and the perfect mix of rustic and comfortable. The host was so kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Our kids especially loved playing in the river just steps from the loft and discovering books in the little lending library. It felt like stepping into a slower, more beautiful way of life. We even saw a moose just steps from the barn! We left feeling refreshed, connected, and already planning our next visit. Couldn’t recommend it more—we will definitely be going back!

This camp site is absolutely beautiful and Mona and Karl are just the kindest! My friend and I went on a camping trip during early June and were the only ones staying on the site(besides host). Everyone was so friendly and accommodating! We were able to go paddle boarding and Karl helped us set everything up. We had great conversations with both Mona and Karl and they are both great people to talk to. This was my first time using Hipcamp and I can say that it went very well. I’m already planning to bring my family out here asap!!

Weekend Trip to Bear Mountain Outfitters

Beautiful land! The accommodations, although rustic, were very nice. There was just myself and my husband and four small pups, but can accommodate many people. It was very secluded and remote which is what we wanted for the weekend. The shower was a very pleasant surprise! Was easy to communicate with Kelly and her husband came to show us around for check in. Would definitely come back!
