Campers have access to a portable toilet, outdoor shower, and potable (drinkable/safe) well water. The Crestone area has officially received designation as International Dark Sky. This means we are extremely careful about light pollution. The views of the night sky are magnificent because there is no light pollution. You will be amazed by the vast numbers of stars visible from our property. (We may have the telescope setup for you to use while you're here.) You'll be close to the Great Sand Dunes National Park - the tallest and most amazing sand dunes in North America. Plan to make this a day-trip - no one should ever miss the Dunes! You're able to see the Dunes from just about everywhere on our property. Look to the south and be amazed! We are also close to several natural hot springs resorts with both family friendly and clothing optional locations. And the choices for hiking are too numerous to list. Don't forget about the local hiking trails and the beautiful views from the Ziggurat (it's visible from our deck). THAT MOUNTAIN VIEW THO... Use the Butler Airport main entrance (off County Rd 69) and follow the road (Airport Rd) for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Beech Boulevard and follow road for approximately .5 miles to the intersection of Beech Blvd and W Falcon Cir E. Take a left turn on W Falcon Cir E and follow to the end of the cull de sac. As you approach the end of the cull de sac (facing a distant castle-style home and away from the mountains) the 5 acre plot to your RIGHT is land you can occupy. I always stay on the cull de sac when I camp. The 5.5-acre lot (#41) sits on the south end of the Butler Airport located off the intersection of Beech Blvd and W Falcon Cir E. The road consists of compacted gravel and dirt, it is maintained (leveled and trimmed) by the HOA but the lot itself remains a little more primitive and unkempt. The taller grass in the area is an ideal feeding/resting spot for heard of Pronghorn deer. Coyotes can also be heard from a distance at night. RV’s and pop-up campers should have no problem driving on the roads or cull de sac at the end of W Falcon Cir, and should even be able to drive around the lot with little to no-problem as it relatively flat. There are dumpsters located along Beech Boulevard to throw away trash. The views and stargazing are amazing and you will find it difficult for the mountain range to leave your eye, but keep in mind this is an open grass lot with no shade or sun cover so I also recommend bringing equipment for shade/cover. Also, noteworthy, each of the neighbors are a minimum of 5 acres apart from lot #41, one of them is the President of the HOA, the other is a Dorito shaped Airb&b property.

The San Luis valley offers, hiking, mountain biking, ATV trail, Horse back riding, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, rafting, refuges for wildlife watching.

Our 1.5 acres are toward the North end of Hwy 17 in the San Luis Valley, Colorado. About 20 miles South is Sand Dunes Recreation, a wonderful hot springs open to the public complete with an indoor adult-only area serving food and alcohol. About 15 miles to the North is Joyful Journey hot springs with elegant outdoor soaking. About 8 miles East of Joyful Journey is Valley View hot springs offering clothing optional soaking in a wide variety of natural soaking settings. Come and try all three from our picturesque home in Moffat.

Camp alongside the Arkansas River (considered Gold Medal for the quality of trout per acre) with white water rafting June-Labor Day. We accommodate tents, vans, or RV's or we can provide a RV or tent. Restrooms and showers are easily accessible. We offer bank fishing, fly fishing lessons, guided fishing on the property and Rocky Mountain National Park or will arrange guided tours for fishing the entire Arkansas River, white water rafting, horseback riding, or having a zipline adventure. When fishing from the bank, no lures or or treble hooks and catch and release only. Pictures welcome! There are several Colorado mountains (fourteeners) to hike/climb in the vicinity. We have 4 acres on the waters of the Arkansas River. Our pond will be accessible next year. We will create the adventure you deserve - from guided fishing, fly fishing lessons, (children and adults) or fishing from the bank. Zipline, jeep, and horseback tours are not far from the campground. We can recommend several white water rafting companies based on your specific needs.

This land was part of a large ranch in the 1980s. The main ranch is still up and running but this parcel was used for many purposes over the years. After over a year of clean up we are happy to be able to open the gates and welcome guests to our little valley ranch. Recently Featured in USA Todays Ten Best! Our property has 360 degree mountains views with the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range as our back yard. Nearby you can find many different trail systems for all kinds of outdoor enthusiasts. From hiking to jeeping, ATV or dirt biking and equestrians - you can find it all! We are surrounded by ranch land and state land with Wildlife Refuge just two miles away. We also offer accommodation for those with livestock, just make sure you chat with us in your initial message. We are also close to BLM, and National Forest as well as several hot springs and the Great Sand Dunes. We are still under construction and making changes often so bear with us while we continue to add and change things for the better!

Joyful Journey hot springs is 3 mins away and for $15 you can soak all day long and enjoy a hot shower before returning back to camp. An hour to Great Sand Dunes National Park. 3 hours from Durango, 3 hours to Denver, 2 hours from colorado springs. 30 mins from Salida. Mailbox available to get whatever packages you need!
