Camping in Craig, Colorado, offers a gateway to adventure no matter which direction you drive. Head west to find Dinosaur National Monument. Where ancient beasts once roamed, today you’ll find 210,000 acres of fossils, petroglyphs, and hiking trails, as well as six developed campgrounds on the Utah side of the park. Head east to venture deeper into the Rocky Mountain peaks, for ski towns, hot thermal springs, and year-round outdoor recreation. The Little Yampa River Canyon beckons with scenic waters. Camp at tent and RV campsites in open ranchlands for panoramic views or in forests for a cozy landscape. Or, if a yurt, cabin, or glamping tent is more your style, you’ll find those dotting the hillsides and meadows.
Public campgrounds can be found at nearby Elkhead Reservoir State Park and Yampa River State Park. For primitive camping, check out options in Routt National Forest.
