The property has plenty of space to walk and explore and is at the end of the cul-de-sac so it is mostly private and backs to BLM. We have put in electricity with 110 volt, 20 amp, 30 amp RV Plug and a 50 amp RV plug to be used individually. camper outlets on the property and flattened a 20 x 50 ft pad that could be a great spot for a tent or a camper.

A newer Hipcamp site in only its 3rd season, on one of the most unique properties in Park County. With just a single Hipcamp site on a large 40 acre property and no neighbors nearby, you'll enjoy a private camping experience in one of the most scenic locations in Colorado. The property is partially wooded, and there is a spectacular view from the top of a prominent hill on the property which is some of the highest ground for miles in all directions. On site picnic tables (the tan colored bench can fold into a table) and a porta-potty are provided. The campsite is equipped with a unique dual purpose wood/propane fire ring - bring your own propane to enjoy campfires while burn bans are in effect. Great hiking opportunities may be found right on the property, and numerous nearby seldom used dirt roads provide exceptional mountain biking opportunities. Close to recreational opportunities in Buena Vista and Salida, as well as Antero, Eleven Mile, and Spinney Mountain Reservoirs. A level site with great access, and can accommodate large RV's and campers. And keep your eyes out - you might just see some Pronghorn passing through the property!
Directions from the town of Hartsel: Proceed 2 miles South on State Hwy 9. Turn right (South) on CR 53. Stay right at the fork at 1.3 miles. At 3.9 miles, turn left (East) onto lightly used Shawnee Trail (Note: On occasion due to County grading on CR 53, there will be a small mound to drive over as you enter this left turn). Proceed about one-quarter mile (and past the the POSTED NO TRESPASSING sign just inside the property entrance) to the campsite a bit further on the left.

We are campers ourselves so, we get it! If you're someone who loves camping, glamping or pitching a tent and need a place, we are here for you! We are just 5.4 miles from the NEW Ford Amphitheatre venue. 3 miles from our NEW grocery store. We are on the property ourselves. We are right off a main road with easy access to town, yet you will feel you are in the woods surrounded by nature. We don't have hookups but we do have a water pump and a basic electrical outlet if you need. There's a large firepit that you're welcome to use if there isn't a fire ban in place. The property is fenced and the spot is level. If you need a bit more privacy or a place for additional guests, we have a small cabin that is also for rent on the property! There's a herd of deer that frequent the property as well so, you just might get lucky to enjoy them too!

The orchard site was perfect and secluded. I was car camping with my dog, and we had a cozy evening by the fire, under a sky lit up with stars. Having the toilet nearby was convenient, especially with how cold it was the night we were there. We walked over to watch the horses in the morning and enjoy the views. I would stay there again!

Beautiful property with excellent views! Steve was great at communicating expectations, directions and provided clear information. Outhouse was clean and well stocked. Fire pit with option of wood or propane was really neat, so much so that my husband now wants one in our backyard. We experienced a bit of wind and Steve was helpful and understanding. We recommend leaving the property the same way you enter. We turned on a road thinking it would lead us to the highway (google maps said it was the quickest way to Cottonwood Hot Springs) but it led us astray. Overall happy campers.

This land has some of the most beautiful skies in Colorado. If you bring your chairs up the hill you can see mountains miles and miles away! It also has great amenities - picnic table, bench, propane fire pit, cookware, chairs, etc. We want to book every time of year to see how the land grows and changes. We saw some yellow leaves this time!

Spent two nights here on our way to NM and one night on our return trip home. Very quiet and peaceful, and the stars at night are simply amazing. Great communication with Steve, the host. No burn ban while we were there, but there is a nice propane setup in the event there had been (bring your own LP tank). Very clean port a potty, some camp cooking gear, including a pie iron. Looking forward to returning on our next trip out west!

This was a perfect stopover on our way to Great Sand Dunes National Park! The camp was very well maintained and the directions were easy to follow. We were treated to an unbelievable sunset, a gorgeous starry night, and stellar views to wake up to. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

I almost don't want to comment on this spot for fear it will become booked all of the time!
The site was clean and we could let our dogs run loose without worry. We sat and admired the views for hours. We have a self contained van but for those in tents, Steve thoughtfully has camping cooking supplies and a clean outhouse available for use. We will definitely return to enjoy the stunning views and peace & quiet.

We enjoyed the camp spot. It was very remote and private. The fire ban had been lifted so we were able to enjoy a bonfire. The views were surround and it was by far one of the best “kept” properties I have ever had with hip camp. Level, clean and wood was ready. I would 100% recommend and will be back.
The only down side was the water was not available to full there as someone has damaged it, but it was an easy fill up the road behind ace. $4 (PS there is a dump station there as well)

My dog is a little reactive within campsites (usually requires more space to not be alerted) so we try to find locations throughout the camping season that allows him space and still let's us have some amenities 🤣 This location was perfect! We were within 20 min to a number of fishing options, the toliet was serviced day before we got there, we were offered early check in, directions were clear and easy and he had utensils chairs and solar lights to make the stay better. The wind caused some issues but nothing we couldn't work through. It was a great experience and plan to come back!
