Your 4G and 5G cell phone data work best at the top of the asphalt turnaround, which is faster than our HughesNet Wi-Fi. A fresh water spigot is available at the main house for guests who help an hour a day moving light pine branches (for stays longer than one night), with prior approval.
There are five total campsites. Sites #1 and #2 are at the top with incredible Pikes Peak views, while Sites #3–#5 are farther below with more wildlife and forest scenery. All offer peace, privacy, and a genuine off-grid mountain experience.

The owner was amazingly accommodating and switched us to blueberry camp which was very accessible! We will definitely be making a tradition of returning to yakalo! Just make sure you have 4 wheel drive and get there while it’s light out, the drive is a bit scary when people are speeding down the mountain. She also has water filters to drink the fresh underground spring water! 10/10 camping experience

We had a wonderful time at the camp site ! The area was clean, quit, and well maintained. The creek near the camp site was very relaxing, we slept like hibernating bears. Angela responded quickly to our questions and made us feel welcome. I highly recommend this camp site. The site was a little slanted.

Both the dog and I enjoyed the lazy day and the short walk down the road at dusk to see the large congregation of horses. Plus we had a visit from some wild turkeys. I especially appreciated having the private portable-camp-toilet-in-tent not far off. The equipment was very easy to use. I'm at an age where nature can call at all hours day and night: so this made the stay especially comfortable and worry-free.

Madeline's property was so tranquil and just a short drive into town. With views of Pikes Peak and plenty of space to spread out. We discovered we were a bit larger than the recommended RV length, but Madeline and her Mom were so accommodating! The property is peaceful and we could let our dogs off leash, which is a plus. Especially for our furry full-time travelers to stretch their legs. I would highly recommend a stay here!

We really enjoyed our time here! There are two separate areas at the site, each with a fire ring a spot for a tent. We fit our large 8-person tent on one side so we could use the other for food, fire, and sitting.
Shade was great, and the spot was private. It unfortunately rained for most of the time, but we got to visit a cantina up the road to get out for a bit.

host George took care of us on arrival and was very kind and thoughtful. host Candice was very communicative and sweet via text. i highly recommend their offering of kombucha. serenity grove is nestled in tall ponderosa pine trees so you get plenty of shade and amazing smells. the campsite was clean and just beautiful. there are a lot of low to the ground cactus in the area but not on any of the paths. it is also the furthest from the rest of the campsites and horses. it’s a short walk to visit the sweet horses and lots of wildlife in the area, too. the cows mooing did keep me up some nights so bring ear plugs if you’re not used to that. there’s lots to do in the area especially since it’s between denver and colorado springs. we felt safe to leave our belongings while we adventured for the day. i’d absolutely stay here again!

What a beautiful place. Candice and George were welcoming hosts and have thoughtfully made the campsites private and serene. Having a hammock, table, and chairs made for a nice setup, along with the bathroom tent. Loved taking in the sunrises and especially the sunsets. The horses bring a special healing energy and lay the backdrop for a peaceful stay. Enjoyed seeing the turkeys in the field, hearing the coyotes in the distance at night, and waking up to the sounds of owls. Make sure to try their kombucha ~ it is delicious!!

Weekend Trip to Bluebyrd Park
This was a cute retro airstream away from the city. We Stayed here while visiting family in Denver. It has all the amenities you need and nothing more. The hosts were communicative, helpful, and obviously care about their guest’s experience. If you’re looking for an amazing escape off the beaten path. I’d highly recommend!

Amazing location. Right down the road from main Colorado springs. Very quiet location with a much needed separation from society. Used a 2WD vehicle on the appaloosa site. Definitely check ahead if the conditions would allow for easy accessibility. Thank you Madeline for the horse tour. My wife was absolutely enthralled!
