The House where we live is the corner stone of the Bruce Property and is on the Colorado Register of Historic Houses.The residence was constructed between 1905 and 1912, using red bricks made on the site. John and Sophia Bruce, early pioneers in the North Fork Valley, were first involved in cattle raising. The family later became successful fruit growers. Located along the West Elk Loop, a Colorado Scenic and Historic Byway, the large two-story residence features a steeply pitched hipped roof with prominent attic dormers.As a guest of Riverwalk you will have full access to the river during your stay. The entrance is right off of highway 135, 8 miles north of Gunnison. Come down the driveway and take a right into the field. The tent is nestled against the cottonwoods far enough away from the main house for complete privacy. Relax on the property or use it as your adventure base camp. Less than a mile from Gunnison river access, National Forest access in hunting units 54 and 55. Not far from units 66 and 67. Almont is a 2 minute drive, Gunnison is about 10 minutes away and Crested Butte is about 20 minutes from the property. The queen size bed will be made (additional cots can be added with advance notice) and the kitchen has a two burner propane camp stove, tea pot, pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, and utensils. It is stocked with drinking water, oil, S&P, coffee, tea, marshmallows and fresh eggs from our chickens will be provided daily. The tent is equipped with a wood burning stove and stocked with firewood. Additional firewood can be purchased. Kindling and fire starters are also available at no charge- let us do the hard work - you RELAX! Electricity is provided, so you can charge your phone or whatever else you need. Enjoy your private fire pit, chill in the rocking camping chairs, or walk across the field to the main house and enjoy the hot tub on the deck. You may spot our horse "Sassy" or some of our chickens roaming around. A porta potty is situated near (but not too near) the tent for your convenience. Towels and wash cloths are also provided.

We absolutely loved our time in Cabin 1 at Sapinero Village. The view was stunning – waking up to the Colorado landscape was a highlight of our trip. The cabin itself was spotless and well-maintained, and we really appreciated the extra touch of having an external bathhouse that was cleaned daily and always kept in great condition. It made our stay feel comfortable and worry-free. Perfect for a small group (we were 4) and great value for the experience. Would definitely come back!

Grace was great - well stocked with cooking utensils and dishes, super nice beds, good AC, and a great view of the mountains. Composting toilet was a bit confusing at first, but easy to get the hang of…I highly recommend reading through the whole of the booklet before trying to work anything in the camper. Would highly recommend.

The video Alicia sent before the trip was a great orientation. It was great sleeping in a bed with great pillows and waking up with a coffee maker. The propane stove for cooking was great for breakfast and dinner. All of the utensils that we needed were there. Cell phone service was 5 bars and having electricity to charge our phones was a big plus.

Great community of riders. Owner Jon said hello within 30 minutes. Share stories and intel with other motorcyclists. Great location. Cabins are tight but make for an easy stop. Highly recommended as a base camp for riding.

Great amenities and set up! We had everything we needed and the hosts were very friendly. The spot is closer to the highway than I thought so we could definitely hear the cars passing, but at the same time the location was easy to find and not far from town.

3 nights at Stay in Grace: Wine-Country Retreat

This was a first time venturing into southern Colorado and the Colorado wine region (West Elk AVA), and, my gosh, we will definitely return to explore further. Karina’s work on the camper renovations, aptly named Grace, made our stay completely enjoyable, and she’s an awesome host. She provides perfect information to be sure guests can stay comfortably - more important if someone hasn’t been around camper living - and the location of the site is perfect for easy drives to Paonia, hiking trails or other, but it’s perfectly remote enough for end of day lounging outside with a beverage of choice and then perfect quiet for sleeping. Just an overall wonderful stay that we would gladly recommend to friends, as well as return ourselves!

The tipi was larger than expected and the mattress was very cozy. The entire plot of land is simply stunning. Our dog enjoyed running around and we loved being so close to all the wineries and the national park.
