This is an incredibly historic site in Santa Barbara history. 2 tribes of Chumash Indians lived here for 10,000 years. This is where Spain landed and began colonizing the area. In the 1950's and 60's, this was the site of the World's largest orchid farm. There is a book called The Royal Rancho, if you are a history buff. We are a farm on the beach just North of Santa Barbara and Goleta, Ca. You will camp in a historic, glass greenhouse with incredible ocean views. Inside is a cob pizza oven that works awesome. We really enjoyed our stay at Imagine Family Farm! The property is secluded and private, making it a perfect spot to relax. The facilities were well-kept, and the bathroom was very clean (note there’s no indoor shower). Since it’s a small farm, you may hear roosters in the morning. If you like to sleep in, that’s worth keeping in mind, but as an early riser I didn’t mind at all and actually found it added to the charm of the setting. Overall, it’s a peaceful, comfortable place to stay, and we’d happily return.

This was an amazing Hipcamp experience! Beautiful secluded area not far from Cambria and Cayucos. Tentsite was private and quiet. Wonderful amenities including a clean restroom and main fire pit. Ryan was such a thoughtful host and was kind enough to prepare the firepit for our arrival. Would definitely recommend and come back!

Great shady spot in the oak forest of north Atascadero. We're road cyclists, and this area is prime cycling territory. Spent 5 wonderful days riding all over the area, even to coast twice. This spot is close to everything the Central Coast has to offer. And you have it all to yourself! No noisy neighbors, only farm animals, deer, crickets & lots of birds. Water & electric hookups were great, plus being able to dump gray water down the hill helped extend our stay. No issues manuevering our 25' TT into the site. Much better choice than any of the overpriced, party atmosphere RV resorts in the area!

It was my first time Glamping. And boy was this an amazing spot and experience. Shirley and Matt are so nice and attentive. We had everything we could need. They even had extra blanket and towels. Weekend Trip to Canvas Under the Oaks

Great location tucked in the hills above Santa Barbara. Pretty close to both downtown and Goleta, about 15 minutes from site. The glampsite itself was extremely cozy and running shower with hot and cold water in the shack next door with an accompanying toilet. Little sink right one the outside for all bathroom sink needs and doubles as dish washing sink. Right next to that is the freshwater spring tap which might have been my favorite feature. Tasted so clean, better than any water you could buy in a store. The tent was very clean and tidy, a few bugs here and there but that’s nature for ya. Bed was very comfy and comfortable, and rest of tent area was reasonably spacious. Refrigerator was a lifesaver, as was the fan with the temperature reaching high 80s while we were there. Some cookware is provided, but did not use it as we got sandwiches in town to bring back for dinner. Deck right out front of the tent was awesome, set some chairs up and looked straight out into the foresty area and felt like we were in a tree house. Did have service up there surprisingly, but WiFi provided as well. Very satisfied with our experience and will be coming back.

What a magical experience and stay! Great for families, brought our two little ones and they loved the animals, the stars, the passing trains, and the private beach. Pizza oven was a hit! The girls loved making pizza and watching it cook. Also loved exploring the various greenhouses, we left inspired for our own home garden. Appreciated the fresh drinking water and running water for washing our dishes and showering after a day at the beach! Beautiful sunsets and moon rises. The lighting in the greenhouse at night was so cozy. Kept our food closed up in a snap lid bin (especially at night) had hungry visitors like raccoons and mice sneaking around. Overall, fantastic weekend!

The view from the bedroom was absolutely stunning! With a large picture window, we enjoyed incredible sights of the vineyards and mountains in the area. The location couldn’t have been more perfect for wine tasting on West Hwy 46! The cozy coach house was so clean and inviting. We brought along a few groceries and even visited the SLO farmer’s market, so we were all stocked up and cooked our meals in between wine tastings. We had such a wonderful time! I highly recommend Sally’s cottage!

Everything about this place is magical. Camping in the greenhouse was perfect for us to help contain two toddlers and a dog, as well as giving us a beautiful, private place to relax. We loved cooking with the pizza oven. Bring a cast iron skillet! It was great to be able to walk to the beach, and even have it to ourselves most of the time. We hope to be back!

Broken Branch Creek is a new family farm in Paso Robles, CA. Our land is abundant with with blue oaks and local wildlife. There is a creek bed, usually dry most of the year, that provides excellent rock hunting and shady areas with overhanging oaks. We have grazing cattle fenced off from the camping areas and farm so you may see or hear them during your stay. The entrance to the camping area is a very wide oil pipe fenced driveway off Branch Road, designed to accommodate farm equipment and cattle trailers. Sometimes map apps say you've arrived at one of the separate residential driveways on the property. Please keep looking for the commercial sized entrance. We are a 15 minute drive to the restaurants and shopping in downtown Paso Robles, 8 minutes to the Vina Robles Amphitheater, 6 minutes to the Hunter Ranch Golf Course, and 5 min to the Sensorio Art Exhibit. We're just off the Union Road Wine Trail among the Back Roads Wineries of Paso Robles. Please be aware we cannot accept longer than 7 day bookings.

Highlands Ranch Hip Camp sites are located half way between Atascadero and Morro Bay. The weather at Highlands Ranch is more like the inland Atascadero side hot in the summer months and cold in the winter months. We have 4 terraced, no hook up, spots available all of which can accommodate 2 or 4 wheel drive camper vans, trucks or cars. One of the sites can be used for fifth wheel, small motorhome or multiple camper type vehicles and of course tents can be set up on all sites. Sites range from small to extra large, that are quaintly studded with oak trees and native greenery for a peaceful camp off the road. Please pack your trash out there is a dumpster at the front gate entrance/exit for your trash. Please close your umbrella when your not at the site, especially when it's windy. SLO Country Camp was once a part of the Serpa Ranch, one of the early ranches of the Central Coast. It’s remained a beautiful rural pocket in the Edna Valley area of San Luis Obispo. It’s quiet and peaceful, enjoy your morning coffee listening to all the birds waking up. There’s a private creek not far away that draws deer and wildlife. Just saw 3 deer run through out property 2 days ago. Owls, red tail hawks, eagles, squirrels and jack rabbits we see frequently. And you can listen to the coyotes howling at night. We’re surrounded by rolling coastal hills, vineyards, horses, cattle and also land apportioned to the Land Conservancy. Walk down our road and then left up to the top of the hill for a panoramic view of the entire area with the city San Luis Obispo at a distance. Our two sites are flat on decomposed granite pads. Both have excellent views and easy access to our common areas: big sink and counter, and a cold-water outdoor "beach-type" shower. Firewood is available for purchase at camp for those wanting to use the fire pit, or you can bring your own. The San Luis Obispo, Central Coast has so much to see and do! Hiking trails abound, our favorites are Bob Jones trail to walk or bike to Avila Beach, Johnson Ranch and Irish Hills for hiking hills, the Ridge trail for a view over Shell and Avila beaches, and the Harmony Trail to walk grassy cliffs by the ocean. Montano de Oro is only 15 minutes away with rocky ocean cliff trails that lead down to the coastline. We are 5 minutes from the beginning of the Edna Valley winery trail with 30 wineries or more I’ve lost count. Tasting and relaxing in great atmospheres. Our favorites are Biddle Ranch, Talley, Mailene, Chamisal, Bailyanna... but there are so many more. We’re 10 minutes from downtown San Luis Obispo, 10–12 minutes to Avila or Pismo beaches. Morro Bay is 25 minutes. And we’re just 5 minutes off the 101 for easy access to traveling. The Central Coast has almost everything for fun, adventure and food. Surfing, biking, hiking, ocean kayaking, paddle boarding, golf, wine and beer culture, ranch lands, shopping and restaurants and we’re close to it all.

Sometimes map apps say you've arrived at one of the separate residential driveways on the property. Please keep looking for the commercial sized entrance. We are a 15 minute drive to the restaurants and shopping in downtown Paso Robles, 8 minutes to the Vina Robles Amphitheater, 6 minutes to the Hunter Ranch Golf Course, and 5 min to the Sensorio Art Exhibit. We're just off the Union Road Wine Trail among the Back Roads Wineries of Paso Robles. Please be aware we cannot accept longer than 7 day bookings.

We named our property the Twisted Branch after one of the big oak trees that sits on the site where you will camp with us! It's on a hilltop with amazing views in nearly all directions. The campsite faces South/West so sunsets are fantastic. We use no chemicals on the soil or annual grasses. It is very quiet and the night sky is always stunning. Owls hoot at night and Redtail Hawks hunt for ground squirrels during the day. We have alot of Acorn woodpeckers living in the oak trees, the ones with the bright red head feathers. April through June we see bright yellow Orioles. At night you will hear hundreds of little frogs in the nearby ponds, depending on the season. We are located in the heart of Wine Country and there are plenty of activities around us and in town.

Learn more about this land: Flat open field next to a private oak studded dry creek bed that borders a vineyard. Enter the field through an open gate that is 14' wide and can handle any length trailer. Six wineries are nearby for wine tasting, (Tobin James, Ernest Hemmingway, Rio Seco, Penman Springs & Pear Valley Vineyard across the street). Paso Robles is a quaint old Western town that hosts the Mid-State Fair. Downtown Paso Robles is about 5 miles to the West and offers a variety of excellant restraurants, bars, a movie theatre, and shops that surround a large grassy park with large magnolia trees, a gazebo, museum and playground.
