The ownership of the land has been held since 1883 by the Summit Lime Company and was until the 1930's the site of several lime quarries one of which was used to supply material for the Owens valley to Los Angeles aquaduct. Current utilization is for recreation, private hunting club, timber production, and cattle grazing. This was originally a Girl Scout camp called Singing Pines back in the 30’s. You’ll see as you roam around some of the original buildings and structures. It hasn’t been in operation as a Girl Scout camp for over 30 years. The neighbor camp bought the lease but haven’t had the funds to revive it yet. DIRECTIONS: Take Exit for Angeles Crest Hwy (Hwy 2) from the 210 Go North, up the mountain for 29 miles Turn left on Sulpher Springs Rd Go about a mile and you will see a Singing Pines sign up on a hill on the right side. There is a white gate which is usually open but if it's closed go ahead and open it. Go down that driveway about a mile and turn left at the fork. Follow that road down and around the lake staying to the right. Once you passed the lake there will be a little uphill and the location is on the left. Learn more about this land: The Skoolie is a converted short bus with two love seats that convert to an RV queen bed, sink, stove top, dinette, and over head lights. Outside is a private meadow with a short walk to a small lake. You can bring your fishing gear. It's stocked with Bass and Bluegill. Outside the Skoolie is a picnic table, fire pit (firewood $10 a bundle) and a hammock. Up the hill, a very short walk is the private campground toilet facility. This is not shared with anyone else. No cell phone reception no linens bring a sleeping bag or warm blankets. You can charge your phone in the Skoolie for a sunrise alarm or just to take pictures.

You may be greeted by our friendly, working farm dogs. We offer self check-in and you're welcome to arrive anytime after 1PM; checkout is 11AM. Please respect quiet hours after 10PM if arriving late. CAMP RULES No Pets – Our dogs protect the farm and see other animals as threats. You will be asked to leave with no refund if you bring a pet. Quiet Hours: 10 PM–7 AM – No exceptions. The space was cute, warm, welcoming, and incredibly cozy — the perfect little Valentine’s Day getaway. Weekend Trip to Skoolie in a secluded meadow

What a beautiful place! Felt like I was in the middle of nowhere all by myself ❤️ this was a solo trip, just myself and my dogs. I felt safe yet felt like the world was all mine! The property is gigantic and you’re able to hike from almost any point. Lots and lots of trails and lots and lots to explore! Grateful for the bathroom. The is no running water, except in the van sink. It was nice having a little kitchen! It was nice, not having to lug all my cooking supplies up! there was a hammock, fire pit, freshwater, and a cooler full of ice, waiting for me when I arrived. The bed in the van is comfortable. I am 5’6 and I barely fit laying flat. If you’re taller than me, expect to sleep diagonally or curled up. It gets really cold up there! And the van gets really cold! Make sure you bring lots of warm covers and pajamas! And even a little heater if you have one. A safe propane one because there’s no power for you to plug-in to. Also, there’s no signal out there. Yet you can catch a satellite signal with proper equipment. Bring all your supplies up with you! There’s no stores around! Space is clean! Beautiful wild yet managed with lots of dilapidated buildings to check out. And so many beautiful views! There’s also a lake! Kayaks, you can take onto the lake as well. I was too cold to attempt getting in the water, but I bet it would be a good time! The host was great! The drive was so beautiful and easy! I will definitely definitely definitely definitely come here again.

Weekend Trip to Lone Juniper Ranch

This place far exceeded our expectations! We planned on a nice relaxing weekend and seeing some animals but the amount of animals and the overall scenery in the mountains was incredible. The cabin was very cozy and warm during the chilly evenings and it was so peaceful sitting by the fire or enjoying our coffee outside while admiring the animals. All of the animals were super friendly and overall unaffected by your presence. The staff pretty much left you alone but was very pleasant and informative whenever we crossed paths. They answered any and all questions we had while dropping off carrots, firewood and tending to the animals.

The dome is decorated with care and attention, we didn’t even needed to use the heat and we came in February The description to get to it were clear and easy An amazing getaway to escape chaos and slow down the paste of life ! Weekend Trip to Star Ranch

Star ranch is a beautiful secluded property that had plenty of room for our dog to roam off leash. The stars at night were beautiful, and the A frame and kitchen area were very comfortable. The flush toilet and shower were extremely nice touches, and the shower got very hot and had great water pressure. We only occasionally heard road noise, and the property felt truly private. We will definitely be back in the future

The cabin itself was absolutely delightful — cozy, peaceful, thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed, and directly across from a sweet little group of alpacas. The space and scenery felt like an excellent value for the price, and my girls absolutely loved our stay. We did add on a few extras (carrots for the animals, firewood, and a sauna visit), and while we enjoyed each of these, the communication around them felt a bit unclear. I had to reach out multiple times to coordinate, and we received less firewood than expected close to dark. The sauna was also not ready at our scheduled time, and we weren’t given clear parking instructions — which led to some confusion upon arrival. None of this ruined our stay, but it did make the add-on experience more stressful than anticipated. Overall, the cabin and location were wonderful, and with clearer communication around the extras, this would easily be a five-star stay.

This was my second time staying at this Hipcamp site and it has had so many upgrades since my first visit. The dome is INCREDIBLE and the entire location is so thoughtfully put together. My partner and I had such a relaxing stay. Anita was a spectacular host, she answered any of our questions very quickly and was clear on instructions. I can’t wait to book again in the future. 100% would recommend to anyone considering booking.

We loved staying at Anita’s land! It was wonderfully secluded, and I loved being able to let my dog run around off-leash without worrying about bothering anyone. The dome was very comfortable, and the décor was absolutely adorable. I especially appreciated having an electric kettle in the dome so I didn’t have to go outside at night just to boil water for tea. Although it was cloudy and we couldn’t see the stars, we still enjoyed a beautiful view of the city lights. As a solo traveler, I was a little concerned about safety at first, but my hyper-vigilant dog and the security cameras helped me feel much more at ease. Anita’s directions and instructions were clear and detailed, and I had no trouble finding the place. We’ll definitely be back!
