This was our first camping trip with our dog and we even got lucky with being the only campers for the weekend. We went swimming and got to use the kayaks it was so much fun! In the cool morning into mid afternoon noon we sat on the dock under the umbrellas just reading our books. It did however get a bit loud someone was doing shooting practice and then the boats and sea doos were quite active in the later afternoon. Overall we really did enjoy every moment of our trip and the hosts are very kind. We can’t wait for our next trip to Mona’s.

Mona’s place is an amazing camping site, which includes wonderful river access and several options for tent locations under the trees in the shade. It has all you need for a luxury camping experience: refrigerator, shower, and restrooms, all well maintained. Also, Mona is very kind allowing us to use their kayaks! The top experience for the kids was the swing over the river enables a great jumping experience to the river. Also , in the area you can finch plenty of well maintained pick-nick tables, umbrellas, and chairs.
In a 5-10 drive you can find stores for the basic supplies you need including groceries if you missed anything…☺️
We had lovely camping experience at Mona’s place, warmly recommended for others and we will be more than happy to be back again!

Mona was very responsive and easy to work with. We booked last minute/same day and even arrived late into the evening and things went very smooth. The property is a gem and our kids really enjoyed the private beach and beautiful waterfront. We have a 28’ travel trailer and had no issues pulling in or out. Would absolutely stay again and for longer than 1 night for sure! Thanks again!

Such a special property that Mona & Dale have graciously given access to Hipcampers to enjoy. The open spaces for tents offers shade under mulberry trees with a working fridge, sink, trash/ recycle bins, and fire pit with plenty of wood to use. The dock has tables with umbrellas & a fun diving board to jump off (feet first - river isn’t super deep!). They event have a swing jump for the adventurous. We were treated very kindly & felt supported when asking for some accommodation given our health risks, and I’m grateful for the hosts.
We had a unique situation in that we parked our camper van (ram promaster 3500) in an area we thought would be ok, but ended up getting stuck in the deep sand - so use caution when parking your vehicles in the tent camping areas. It was an unfortunate experience that did put a damper on the stay overall, but I can’t fault the hosts & honestly will be going back to visit regardless of the added stress because the spot is just so fun. Our little kids (5 & 2) wish it was their back yard - they spend hours catching fronts & swimming in the cool river on the hot summer days we spent. We also loved taking their kayaks out on the river together.
Space is shared with Airbnb/hipcampers using the other rooms & RV + tent area rentals, but ample room to enjoy.

This is a prime spot. Dale and Mona have a beautiful place. As you drive down the driveway, the property is deceptive. When you venture behind the house, it opens onto a beautiful sandy beach area along the river. We thoroughly enjoyed talks on the dock, dips in the river, and the warmth of the sun and our host. Mona's place can accommodate RVs, tents, and those who like to glamp in one of the RVs on site.

Camping here was very relaxing and a much needed for a Thursday-Saturday stay. The directions were very detailed and communication with Mona was superb. It was such a huge help as I was setting up tent/camp in the dark. I regret not taking my SUP board but hope to visit again soon and will take advantage of the river while it’s still in season. I would definitely recommend.

Camping with our family at Mona's campsite was our best choice. She helped us from the moment we made our reservations to our last day. We took a trip with a lot of children and they had a great time in the water, playing in the sand and running around. My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at split mountain. Full RV hookups, a beautiful shaded area with Punic tables, Adirondack chairs, and fairy lights. Not to mention the gorgeous view of Lake Isabella when you wake up in the morning or during sunset. JD, the on site host was very friendly, informative and welcoming. He provided great recommendations and was very responsive when we had questions. He met us upon arrival despite having a later arrival time. I would highly recommend this Hipcamp!

We spent a nice, quiet night at Mona’s. The absolute highlight was lounging on the dock at the river. Wonderful, peaceful and serene. We had our binoculars and viewed so many birds. There was a large flock of Cedar Waxwings hanging out in trees near us and Northern Mockingbirds, Bushtits, White Crowned sparrows, CA scrub jays, mourning doves, hawks and many more. We even got two new “lifer” birds to add to our list: Nutall’s woodpecker and a CA Towhee!
We had a nice hot shower before turning in for the night and left early in the morning, well rested and ready to tackle another day on the road. Thanks Mona and Dale!

My husband and I had a fantastic three-night stay at Mona’s. Our hosts were incredibly responsive, and we had some wonderful conversations with Mona’s husband, Dale. Our campsite was surrounded by nice shade trees, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Although the riverbed was dry during our visit, it still offers a beautiful setting for camping with full hookups. We also made a day trip to Sequoia National Park, which is conveniently located just over an hour away.
