The property has a long-abandoned gold mine and circular arrastres where miners used mules to break up rocks. Nearby Acton has pick-your-own apples/pears/peaches at Bloom farms. We are at 3000 feet with strong sun during the day and cool mountains air at night. The camping is set away from structures, but if you want to stroll, closer to the ranch buildings, we have friendly small goats you can visit if interested and horses and a donkey to say hello to across the corral fence.

Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. Nestled in the middle of several apple orchards along Oak Glen Road, the location was perfect for enjoying the local activities and atmosphere. Christine proved to be a gracious and helpful hostess, and her cats served as campsite companions that were greatly enjoyed by the family.

19 nights at Rosemead 12 miles to DT Los Angeles

I was so thankful to find this spot. I was in the area for work for 2+ weeks, and as somebody that normally boondocks in forests I couldn't rationalize $100+ night rv resorts. Richard was quick to respond to our request to book, and provided all the information we needed to get there late in the night. We were surprised to have an extension cord for a 15a plug, which really was a nice bonus. The property is secure, and I felt comfortable leaving our rig while I was away at work during the day. We didn't have the opportunity to meet Richard directly, but he was super quick to respond to questions I had while there. We were also surprised to learn we could do laundry on site. The dryer is free, and the washer is 85 cents (3 quarters and a dime). The only downside is that the alley going down to the property is VERY tight and steep. We didn't have a problem getting down, but coming back up we had a clearance issue coming back onto the street. There's a slight dip where the alley levels down to the street and we had to use traction boards and our leveling blocks to keep our rearend high enough to clear our poop tube. If you have low clearance, just be aware and prepared to take some extra steps on your way out. I read some reviews about trucks being parked in the alley while folks were doing work on the property, but I can't complain because the guys working were always super quick to get their things moved out of the way when I was coming and going. Overall, a great experience

The Place is absolutely gorgeous. Very clean and private with great parking spots for non 4X4 vehicles. Port potty was clean. You can park your vehicle on the shore although I wouldn’t advise it for non 4X4 vehicles. The only con I would say is that it’s so close to the street that you can hear the cars go by but it was okay. There is everything you need in 5 minute drive radius, so don’t worry if you forget anything. The host is super friendly and responsive. Definitely coming back again.

Such a cool sight with just the right amount of amenities to make for a great casual camping experience. The road up is no joke and you got to be unafraid to get up a dirt road that goes up quickly, but our cars could do it, even when we came in at night. Caleb was great and communicative and we will definitley coming back for the next time do our retreat, the amphitheater so well positioned and the town at night was beautiful to look at. Great sunrises and sunsets too!
