We are living our dream after recently finding and purchasing this beautiful 10 acre parcel, one of the sunniest in the canyon with a bucolic creek that flows all year.
See Canyon itself is a special place. Home to a multitude of birds and
wildlife, a beautiful scenic winding road, lush landscaping and a host of apple orchards.
Thanks to the micro climate we have here, we grow some of the best apples and stone fruit in the country. The coastal canyon is just a short distance to the beach and 15 minutes into town but feels like a world away when you are here.
The star gazing is incredible as the canyon walls block the light pollution and the milky way shines!
Welcome to our little slice of 10 acre heaven in the Canyon! Just bring yourself and we have everything else!! Nestle up in the Cozy Gnome Home, a 1967 vintage trailer and listen to the symphony of frogs in the creek just outside your window.
With love and labor... we gutted, redesigned and restored this little trailer for the ultimate functioning space for two. Detailed with a nice little kitchen with copper counters and everything you need for cooking and dining.
A Berkey filter for clean water, hardwood floors and a comfy bed complete with organic latex mattress, down comforter and cotton sheets.
Fold out dining table if you care to (or need to) eat indoors.
There is also an outdoor kitchen space with a sink (no hot water), gas grill (upon request), propane burner (bring your own small canister) and a patio table and chairs. We have a charcoal grill available too.
The creek runs mostly year round so feel free to get your feet wet on a hot sunny day.
We also have an outdoor warm shower and sink as well.
You are welcome to cruise the property and check out the chickens, ducks, goats and horses.
We have three dogs on the ranch, a curious and playful ranch dog Pluto (who will be your tour guide), a Boston Bulldogge, Astrid and our newest pup, an American Hairless Terrier, Cozmo, silly little guy :)
We are surrounded by orchards which have some of the best apples and pears in the country.
Seasonally you can stop by many apple markets and do a tasting. We also have a lively wine tasting venue less than a mile away.
Avila Beach is a short 4 miles away and we are happy to share bik

We named our property the Twisted Branch after one of the big oak trees that sits on the site where you will camp with us! It's on a hilltop with amazing views in nearly all directions. The campsite faces South/West so sunsets are fantastic. We use no chemicals on the soil or annual grasses. It is very quiet and the night sky is always stunning. Owls hoot at night and Redtail Hawks hunt for ground squirrels during the day. We have alot of Acorn woodpeckers living in the oak trees, the ones with the bright red head feathers. April through June we see bright yellow Orioles. At night you will hear hundreds of little frogs in the nearby ponds, depending on the season.
We are located in the heart of Wine Country and there are plenty of activities around us and in town.

Organic farm, polo club, and lots of horses are boarded here. Camp somewhere on the property with your RV or tent. We have easy access to Morro Bay, Montana De Oro and wineries galore.
Bring your horses, dogs, etc!! We have tent spots and a fully furnished toy hauler available.
We have gates, and we have a general equine liability form for you to complete, and then we can give you the gate code.
I have been here for 14 years.
I have an organic farm, polo club, boarding stables, a few gypsy friends and 2 kids.
If you are looking for a place to crash while enjoying San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay and Los Osos this is it!!
If you want to learn to ride or play polo... that is my real job.

Megan was welcoming, patient (I asked her a number of questions) and responsive - even on Thanksgiving evening. The property is in a GREAT location so close to SLO, Montaña de Oro, Morro Bay, wineries and so much more. (The weather prevented us from experiencing that and so much more but it’s easy to build a great trip when staying at Megan’s place.) It was a unique experience and if you enjoy or interested in horses - this is a great spot to stay."

Weekend Trip to Creekside Glamping in the Canyon
Great Hipcamp, the area is bueatiful and the actual trailer is well stocked and comfortable. The details were a nice touch, and the outdoor shower worked very well.
The only thing to note is that the shared kitchen above the Hipcamp takes away a little bit of the privacy, but other than that, it was such a great stay. Would recommend!

Jac’s land is truly incredible, we can’t thank him enough for letting us stay there. This has become our go-to stop whenever we’re headed back to the Bay Area. It’s a perfect little hilltop oasis, and I honestly don’t think I’ve ever stayed here without being treated to a stunning sunset.
Waking up to the cows coming over to say hello was such a joy, and it’s impossible not to fall in love with Dakota, their sweet old horse.
Jac mentioned that he and his wife are planning to build their dream home on the hill where the campsite sits, so if you have the chance, go experience this magical spot while it’s still open to campers. It’s a really special place.

Jac's place has become our favorite Central Coast base camp. The site has fantastic views, generous amenities, and all the peace and quiet you could want. And it's conveniently close to charming Paso Robles, attractions such as Sensorio, and the local wine trail.

Jac was an awesome and friendly host. We gathered here for a family weekend camping trip and had an incredible time (8 people total of all ages). The sunrises, sunsets, and starry nights were so beautiful at this site and we also loved seeing all the animals around the property. Would definitely come here again or recommend to others!

Lovely spot! Super easy access go downtown SLO & Avila Beach while feeling like you are world away!
The space was comfy & cozy & had all we needed. The compost toilet & outdoor shower were far cleaner & more pleasant to use than the average campground facilities. Would return!

Very nice place to stay. The canyon is beautiful and it’s nice to disconnect. There was very limited cell service in the canyon so I’d recommend making note of the gate code before you get there!

Jac and his wife were very kind and welcoming while greeting us upon our arrival. They even offered to moved the picnic table to accommodate us if needed, and set us up with 2 canvas chairs as well as a box of goodies: tablecloth, plates, reading materials, cards, etc.
The views from our camping spot were amazing! We love get visited by friendly cows as they came up to drink from their water trough.
The port-o-potty was one the cleanest we have ever seen!
We especially enjoyed the peace and tranquility while staying at Twisted Branch. It was a nice place to try out our new slide-in camper. We brought our 18 yr old dog as part of his bucket list and he was not disappointed!
And neither were we!!

Weekend Trip to Creekside Glamping in the Canyon
We had the most wonderful time! The camper is so cute and just spacious enough, it feels very private. The outdoor shower was lovely with very warm water! Great location as well! Close to downtown SLO and the beach. And Pluto really is as spectacular as everyone says, he is truly such a special dog and made us feel so at home. Our whole stay was very picturesque, from waking up and looking out the window at the oak trees to stargazing at night (with Pluto by our sides). We were very sad to leave.

What a view! Jac was incredibly welcoming upon our arrival. After passing their home, you continue to follow a dirt path that leads to the campsite. The spot offers plenty of privacy and a magnificent view of the sunset. The night was calm and quiet, except for the occasional howls of coyotes—which we actually enjoyed. Cows roamed nearby but kept their distance, making it perfect for my toddler, who was curious and loved watching them. The property feels secluded, yet shops, restaurants, and wineries are only a short drive away for exploring the town. We can’t wait to go back!

3 nights at Creekside Glamping in the Canyon
This was the 3rd time we have visited Lorna’s amazing property and it’s always so wonderful. The cozy gnome home is always nice and comfy and the surrounding trees and creek make this spot tranquil and idyllic. The fresh eggs and fruit, the outdoor shower are not to be missed nor is the company of the incomparable Pluto. Can’t wait for next time!
