Learn more about this land: River status: Swimmable but stopped flowing as of 6/28 Camp on our small piece of paradise located near Yosemite. We are a family of 5 (me, my husband, our two toddlers and our dog, River) living on 5 acres of mountain land in the foothills of the Sierras complete with an outdoor shower and bath and also flowing (seasonal) stream that you can swim in. Feel free to wander around the property on a few of our trails or just chill by the water and enjoy the magic of the mountains. Our property is about a 55 min drive to the Yosemite entrance. PLUS another 15 mins to the main attractions. Dogs are more than welcome as long as they are ok with our dog wandering around. He’s super sweet loves everybody.

The L3 Ranch was founded in 1974 when my grandfather bought the property for his show cows.  In 1978, someone gave him a racehorse to pay off a debt. From then on, the property was known for its Quarter horse race horses, with some of the best in the state being born right here. In 2013 he found our he had cancer and handed the ranch down to me, Travis.  While he survived the cancer, he's happy in retirement playing cards with his buddies every week and hanging out with his dog.Now the ranch is known for its horse boarding, cattle, and goats. We really enjoyed our first stay on the ranch! The spot is perfect for families with kids and dogs, trailers or tents. The extra amenities like row boats, firewood, plenty of seating, huge picnic/cooking area and flush toilets really set this place apart. We stayed in our RV and loved it. The scenery was beautiful, the site was level and easy to access, and the rocks were fun to explore. I imagine it’s even better when the creek is flowing. The drive to Yosemite’s Southgate was less than an hour, and I highly recommend a stop at the California State Mining and Mineral Museum. We hope to return!

Fantastically beautiful site! A four wheel drive car is absolutely necessary on this narrow off road path leading to the site. Note this is not a negative: it was totally fun to ramble up the road and was a sizable part of our adventure. In early August the site was calm and temperate. Even at the summit with a near 360° view, we had calm winds and a nice spot for our rented Jeep and tent. There were views in every direction for miles and miles. We simultaneously saw the sunset and a near full moon rise on the opposite side. If you’re interested in getting into Yosemite, note that it’s almost two hours from this site to the park, so plan accordingly. As a last note, we’d suggest the owner put up some more signage for actually where to park. Even with the instructions, we circled the area two complete times before we found where to park. A simple “go the orange flag” would solve this. Otherwise we highly recommend this as a peaceful spot with spectacular views, totally removed from the world.

Overall we had a great experience staying at this spot! There are great views. The roads are long getting there and there is a couple of tough sections, wouldn’t recommend doing it in the dark and ground clearance was needed at times. The camp spot was not very clearly marked but we found a fire ring and decided to set up next to it.

Spot is beautiful, quiet, private, and well located for nature day trips. There was some shade in morning and evening. River is beautiful but was not running (when we visited in July). Deck shown in pictures is not adjacent to camping spot — it’s down the hill in a separate area. Shower was great touch. Come prepared to dig a hole to poop across the road or drive into town. Christian was helpful and quick to respond. It worked very well over all for our group. Thanks Christian!

This site was perfect for us and our dogs. It was peaceful and felt private! We enjoyed rowing on the fish-filled lake and watching goats on the hillside. The picnic area had a fridge, fans, misters, and shade to beat the July heat. The restroom was nearby and kept clean. At night, the bright moon over the lake was beautiful, and morning was cool and crisp. Travis was a welcoming host, and the ranch shows great care. Very close to town in case we needed supplies. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return!

We have 155 acres of the Sierra foothills just ~12 minutes from downtown Murphys. This is a working farm where we specialize in cut flowers and also grow a little food. When available we offer bouquets/eggs/veggies as an add-on. There are a few different listings, so make sure to read the details on your specific listing! -End of The Driveway -1 Pine -2 Pine The End of The Driveway is one big site for buses/RVs/big vans next to the Soup Kitchen. 1 Pine and 2 Pine are up a separate driveway on the ridge. The driveway spot is down the driveway a couple hundred yards from where we usually are so you’ll more or less be on your own, depending on if we have work to do down there or if there are other campers. We are happy to chat or leave you be, just let us know what your needs are. If you’re looking for a more isolated spot, see the listings for 1 Pine or 2 Pine. The 2nd area is “1 Pine” accessed by our second driveway that is 100 yards down the road from the farm. The driveway is kind of rough but definitely manageable with a truck, SUV or sedan if you’re willing to go for it. The drive goes up a couple hundred yards to the hilltop where there is a clearing and, you guessed it, 1 pine tree. From the back of the clearing there is a trail that leads you to 2 Pine, which is a walk that takes just a few minutes. 2 Pine is walk-in only but has great views of the sunset and is totally secluded and private and would be a good spot to either bring some friends for a little sunset party or for someone who wants to seriously unplug. There are plenty of flat spots to pitch a tent. **if you are a teacher or Pacific Crest Trail hiker let us know! We are happy to offer a discount :)

This site is situated at the base of sinal mountain in Jackson Ca, just 3 miles off highway 88 and 49. It’s feels like it’s miles away from civilization, with a beautiful country road that meanders through gold country. Raley’s , tractor supply and lake tabeaud are only 3 miles away. We personally live here on 5 acres and have one acre dedicated to RV camping. Kirkwood ski resort is a 40 minute drive and South Lake Tahoe is 1.5 hours up 88. There are wonderful wineries in the Shenandoah Valley about 25 minutes away and the beautiful town of Sutter creek with shops, antiques and restaurants.
