Expect to drive your car on a dirt road into the forest. The cabin has one queen size bed with 2 persons maximum. Wood fire wet/dry Barrel Sauna is open, and extra towels are provided. For all 4 plus day bookings. The land is on the shady side of an untouched canon of natural rainforest in Mendocino County, just north of Willits, CA. Trees here can be as tall as 120 feet. A private forest reserve. The cabin site has a 10-mile view of nature to the south. It is 100% off-grid with 5G Wifi. The Main room has a kitchenette, cookstove, sink, fridge, queen-size bed, Table and chairs with a gas fireplace/heat stove. Bathroom with hot shower is the other room. In one of my review responses, I accidentally wrote “wagon train” but that was a typo. It is just ten minutes to the coastal town of Mendocino and is on 12 acres of giant redwoods and open meadows. Spend your days at the beach or hiking in the the redwoods! Beautiful cabin and hosts. Away from all distractions, we really enjoyed this place. Hosts were top, amazing views and property, lots of wildlife, great get away. So relaxing. Wish we had a longer time there. Thanks Sara and Liam, and Stanley too.

Weekend Trip to Ganjier Campus

The cabins were super clean and cozy, completely surrounded by trees and tons of sun. I thought it was really cool that they run fully on solar power but still have electricity and wifi so you really do get the best of both worlds. The hosts were so kind and they even left snacks in the cabin, which was so sweet. Bathrooms and showers were impressively spotless and fully functional too. The entrance road is a little rough, but once you’re in, it’s so pretty, peaceful and serene, you won’t even mind the ride up. P.S. I had no clue what a “Ganjier” was when I booked, did a quick Google later and was a little surprised, given I had my younger sister with me lol.

Weekend Trip to Dark Fairy Farms

We had an incredible stay at the cabin. The views were stunning all day long, the little terrace was a great place to hang, the interior was super cozy and comfortable, we had all the amenities we could have possibly wished for, you’re walking distance from a cute swimming hole and a short drive from bigger river beaches and gigantic redwoods. The hosts were delightful and available for everything we needed, including the adorable dog Stanley who kept us company and guided us on a little hike to the creek

4 nights at Forest Haven Trees

What a fantastic stay! From the moment we arrived, James was incredibly helpful and welcoming. He met us at the road, guided us in, and provided a radio so we could stay in touch with him and the host, Linda throughout our visit—which made us feel safe and supported, especially while navigating the area or heading out on hikes without cell service. The setting was peaceful and breathtaking. Absolute silence at night, with stunning views. Watching the sunset and sunrise from the deck was magical, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on—seriously, we slept like rocks. We loved the outdoor space, especially the charming outdoor sink setup. It added to the rustic charm without sacrificing comfort. The main house is just up the hill—close enough in case we needed something, but still far enough to feel totally private and remote. And a special shoutout to Buddy the dog! He popped by now and then to check on us, which we appreciated. He felt like a friendly guardian making sure everything was good in our little corner of the woods. Highly recommend if you’re looking for peace, comfort, and just the right amount of adventure. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

The cabin was lovely and we really enjoyed having lots of amenities while being remote. The host was super nice, and we would definitely go again. It is quite a drive on a nonpaved road for about a mile, so good to be prepared for that, and definitely 4x4 was needed for the driveway where it was steep. Being prepared for that, we had a great time!

Weekend Trip to Dark Fairy Farms

I had a wonderful stay at Liam and Sara’s peaceful mountain retreat in Humboldt County. The cabin is surrounded by miles of trails, wildlife, and the calming sounds of Salmon Creek—complete with a perfect little swimming hole. Their dog Stanley was a sweet and playful companion for my pup, and Liam went above and beyond to help transport luggage up/down the steep drive (a big help since I don't have 4WD). The cabin itself was clean, comfortable, and fully stocked with everything we needed. It's remote—about 20 minutes off Hwy 101—but the serenity and connection to nature make it more than worth the drive. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unplug and recharge in the redwoods.

another incredible stay here. stanley the host pup was happy to greet me right away. sara was very welcoming again as well, and offered me a reiki session for an extra charge. it was incredible. highly recommend if you are open to that kind of thing. i really enjoy the cabin in this weather. it was not really rainy, but very moody and foggy. i was cozy and wish i could have stayed longer.
