Profile Information - Dos Fernandos' Hideaway is sitting on 18 acres in the heart of Temecula Valley Wine Country with 12 acres planted in vineyards that are harvested for Robert Renzoni Winery. About the property Our property is in the high desert above Borrego Springs at 4,300'. We border Anza Borrego State property which means you’ll be adjacent to plenty of beautiful open spaces. There are many trails in the park which lead to the desert floor from our fence line. On a clear day you can see the Salton Sea from the bottom of the property. We have great access to nearby points of interest including Borrego Springs which is 20 miles away, Anza Borrego State Park which is adjacent to Julian at 40 miles away, Palomar observatory which is 40 miles away and Cuyamaca Lake which is fantastic for fishing only 45 miles away. If you need to pop into town for any supplies or services you can access Borrego Springs (20 miles away), Julian (40 miles away), Ramona (45 miles away), and Temecula (50 miles away). We have 3 horseshoe pits and 9 frisbee golf baskets for recreation onsite and we have incredible dark skies for excellent stargazing. You may see many different forms of wildlife including mountain lions, coyotes, foxes, bob cats, racoons, badgers, and rattle snakes. You will see many rabbits, squirrels and tons of birds of all kinds! We are really the perfect location for those who love the outdoors! Owners live on site but we like to greet, meet, and then leave you to your stay! Please reach out if you have questions or concerns though. About the listing Our listing is for tents, vans and truck campers, trailers, or RV’s and we can accommodate rigs up to 25ft in length. A few of our 5 sites are pull through sites on dirt and may require some leveling. All sites are dry camping only as we do not have any hookups, though there are two bathrooms and water available in a centralized area on the property. You can expect High desert and scrub brush environments. Any vehicle should be able to access our property but 4-wheel drive vehicle might make it a little easier to access areas on the outside perimeter of the property. While staying with us you can expect some noise from coyotes, raven….wind and a little highway traffic on s22. Each site will accommodate up to 6 people. Amenities listed below: -Picnic table provided -Two bathrooms available -Pets allowed -Potable water available via spigot -Trash bins available -Limited cell service, no wifi Additional details to note Fires are illegal in our area so please no campfires at anytime. It's a simple spot. Easy access but the driveway is steep and wouldn't be fun with a larger trailer pulling off that fast road. Like the host says. It's a safe place to stay for the night or 2 before continuing on. We used our trailer as a cheap way to stay near the beach and surrounding area vs having to pay crazy hotel prices on a holiday weekend. The grounds need to be clean. I would've not been happy had I brought my dog with the amount of weeds that could've gotten in her fur. It's again cheap and simple. Shaded in the evening but not most the day.

Wow, 1000% unexpectedly amazing. The place is a magical wonderland and the hosts are extremely kind and accommodating. We could not have asked for a better place to camp in our little VW. We literally woke up to hot Ir balloons surrounding us and the most peaceful stay that we have had in years. We will be back! Thank you so much!

Wow, I had an incredible stay here! The property itself is absolutely magical, and I stayed in one of the private circles, surrounded by beautiful trees and vines which was so peaceful. The hosts are so lovely, and the wine is top notch! I bought a few bottles and my favorite was the Scottish Red. Seriously couldn’t recommend this place more highly and will absolutely stay here again when I’m in the area!

All the positive things about camping and none of the downers. Nice sites that are well dispersed and comfortable. Clean flush bathrooms and a big sink to wash dishes. Serene atmosphere with chirping birds and curious bunnies. Fun amenities like a wild very fun disc golf course and horse shoes. Amazing dark sky. Lots of great nearby hikes. Great host and communication. No bugs! We only saw 2 mosquitoes, haha. No flies or ants or wasps. No mud or loose sand. We chose a site nearer to the road, but the sounds were not intrusive and it was real quiet at night. We had a windy night, (the high desert does get windy) but there was enough rolling terrain and bushes/small trees to minimize it and our canopy was fine and not a single tent peg was lifted. Highly recommended!

Absolute Gem of a spot for self contained Glamping. Right in the heart of Temecula with 2 wineries whithin a 10-15 min walk. Spread out over the families 18 acres there are three separate private camps wonderfully decorated in wine country style and nestled whithin the Vinyards to choose from. We stayed on the upper bluff where views were spectacular. Colorful solar powered lamps creatively used in the circle made for an enjoyable evening show as well. The hosts Fernando and Steve provided excellent communication and a pleasure to talk to. Will certainly be back for more.

This Hipcamp is done right! Grounds were well maintained and sites clearly marked. The bathrooms were clean and stocked and the outdoor dishwashing area a nice bonus. Horseshoe pits and frisbee golf added to the fun. It was a short drive the Anza Borrego State Park, I would recommend and happily stay there again.

I have been camping a dozen times and this one was one of my favorite! We did have the whole site to ourselves which was a major plus. The site had very very clean restrooms close to our tent, a massive sink to help wash dishes, and many many tables for us to use throughout the site. On top of that there was a very awesome disc golf course with many many discs for us to use. We really enjoyed the disc golf. There’s also horseshoe and cornhole (bring your own bags). The stars at night are AMAZING here!! We absolutely would reverse this site again. The one downside is it is just off the freeway, but the noise wasn’t too bad.
