The front of the property where the cabin is located there will be some highway noise being close to highway 20 , especially during a busy weekend. you can’t hear highway noise while in the cabin and towards the back of the land. However it is nice to be so close to highway 20 because it leads to several different destinations. 3 nights at Flyte and Sparrow natural interlude

Flyte and Sparrow is such a special place. We came here for the first time in November and already returned one month later in December. Tiny Blue is a lovely, cozy little getaway. It’s incredibly insulated and we were perfectly comfortable and warm each night. Some of our highlights from our trip were simply just being on the land. Cooking a meal in the beautiful kitchen, watching the dramatic sunsets each night, trying to figure out the different grazing patterns of the cows, feeding Geiger the llama bananas, and conversations with Wendy. Wendy is so wonderful, warm and welcoming, and we loved each conversation, cherishing each tidbit of wisdom. Thank you Wendy for the eggs and the beautiful welcome card! There is also a forest right behind the property which was absolutely gorgeous. In November, we took a four-wheel drive up to a fire lookout which was a stunning viewpoint, and when we returned in December, the ground was already blanketed in snow. It was magical, especially watching the community come together to cut down their Christmas tree. We are looking forward to returning throughout the different seasons

This is an incredible property with an incredible host! I camped at Willow springs, and really enjoyed the lushness of the willows, the privacy, and watching the Beavers, Owls and Hawks. I also stayed a week in Tiny Blue which was a little slice of heaven!! I loved all the books, the view and it was super comfy! The tiny kitchen and bathroom nearby were absolutely perfect and I didn't need to leave the property for anything for many days. Wendy is so enthusiastic and hands on, you can really tell she loves what she does and has built a beautiful sanctuary for artists, writers, creative types and those that are in need of some sanctuary. I Especially encourage women who are Solo camping to spend some time at this beautiful location! I can't wait to come back next year!🌀

Weekend Trip to Lazy Bear Cabin

We enjoyed our time at this little cabin so much. We originally planned to camp elsewhere but the place ended up being flooded, so last minute we were able to book this place and head here within a few hours. The host was planning to close the cabin down for this time but allowed our booking anyway and was very accommodating. He even came from out of town a few hours away to make sure we had everything we needed. Any questions we had he answered right away and even came in the middle of the night to change out the propane tank for us. The atmosphere was wonderful and our dogs were very welcomed. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to The Retreat on Big Grizzly Creek

This is a really great spot and we enjoyed our stay! We enjoyed the roaring creek next to us and hearing the water as we went to sleep and upon wake up! The tent was well built, felt cozy and secure. The propane heater provided was a MUST as we stayed mid-Oct and the nights were cold outside. It heated it up very quickly and we had to turn it down while we slept it got so toasty. While there are 2 options for parking, if we weren't able to park where we did (closer to the tent), it would have made for more difficult logistics. We just barely were able to get our full-sized truck backed down the path (between the posts) in order to park close to the tent. In muddy weather this might have been more challenging. FYI - you need to have some pretty decent backing up and maneuvering skills to back down through the gate, esp if you have a full sized truck like we did. We did navigate to this spot at night which was a bit challenging in the dark but everything worked out well. This is a nice, secluded and peaceful spot!

Weekend Trip to Wisdom eco-preserve

We had a great time at the Shamballa cabin over the weekend! It’s a beautiful rustic cabin in the middle of nature. You’ll get the feel of glamping (only wood burning stove for heat, no bathrooms in the cabin or running hot water (but flush toilet and hot water sink and shower in main house)), but you’ll be staying in a beautiful cabin with comfortable beds, a kitchen to prepare meals and a cozy place to relax. We enjoyed exploring the area and hiking the Dragons nest trail (get ready for some exercise as you go up to the top!). There is so much land to see and we only saw a little bit! I imagine it’s beautiful in the Winter months also! Thank you Adam and we hope to visit another time!

I enjoyed the stay! Going into the stay I was a bit nervous as I have never used Hip camp before and Kelley was super helpful/responsive to any questions I had. I would stay in Peral again, the trailer was clean and cozy. I live in the woods but it was a good change of environment and a great place to sit outside and listen to nature. Do try not to forget anything because the closest gas station is about 20-30mins away

This was our second time staying in Pearl for my birthday weekend (we came for the first time in 2023) and our stay did not disappoint! You can see and feel that Kelley puts a lot of intention into her home space and all the different sites and facilities. The sauna was a new experience this time, and it was SUCH a vibe. Being with the fire in the sauna as well as experience the bucket cold plunge was super healing and relaxing. It’s so nice that her spot is so close to emerald pools, too. Our little doggie had the time of his life roaming around and sunbathing. We will definitely be back again! Thanks Kelley for hosting us again 😌

Adam has created a magical, sacred and powerful property in the forest. The cabins and structures are gorgeously crafted, and integrated with the forest. Adam was a very gracious, kind and the instructions on how to arrive to the property we very clear.

This land is magical. It has the most beautiful trees and spring and variety of landscape to plant your tent. I stayed in a cabin that was huge with two very comfortable bedrooms and beds and a kitchen. It’s an eco lodge so electricity is solar and toilets are compost so be mindful of that but there’s also a guest flush toilet if really needed. So many trails to hike on. A real treat to be staying in Adam’s land.

The Wisdom Center gets my highest recommendation. Beautiful trees, tons of space, great vibes; enough creature comforts to stabilize your process while still being in touch with the land. Trinity Cabin was spacious (I was alone but a second person would have fit fine), homey, and had an above-and-beyond comfortable bed.

Jason et al. have done the outdoor enthusiast-city dwellers of the world a massive favor by opening up their property to Hip Camp guests. We spent three days basking in the beauty and peace of the towering firs on this family campground. We love to camp, but sometimes the setup takes away from the meditative experience we were looking for. This site has all you'd ever need for a comfortable stay National Forest adjacent. If you're used to driving into a popular state park and setting up in a crowded campground, this will feel remote; and that's exactly what we wanted. And a place for our dog to exist with us off leash. We spent most of our stay on the deck larger than my SF one bedroom. I've seen many an ocean sunset, but the view through the trees from one of two porch swings might take the cake as the most beautiful I've seen. It was hot - end of summer and all - but the porch and trees provide ample shade. Our last afternoon we spent the majority of time in our tent due to massive thunderstorms rolling through, but I can't imagine ending the summer in a more dramatic fashion. Hail, heavy rain, thunder & lightening - such things we don't see in SF. Jason was so communicative and helpful, checking in on us here and there, and coming down during the storms to batten down hatches and make sure we were safe and comfortable. A+++ host. I hope this property stays on Hip Camp, because I'd love to bring a group here someday to take advantage of the tent sites, too.

Really enjoyed staying at Kelley’s twin creeks cabin spot. Like others mentioned her sites feel very remote but not too secluded. There’s a very nice and private river nearby within walking distance to enjoy. Place was very clean and neat when we arrived.

Weekend Trip to Bright Bear Camp in Tahoe NF

We absolutely loved our stay in Pearl, the Airstream! It had everything you could possibly need for cooking, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the space itself was so cozy and thoughtfully put together. The property was gorgeous and in such a great location, close to some amazing hiking. We did Lake Spaulding, which was only about a 15-minute drive, and it was beautiful. Kelley was a wonderful host. So kind, welcoming, and full of great recommendations. We only have positive things to say about our experience, and we were both genuinely sad to leave. Highly recommend staying here!
