Bridgeport Reservoir is a lake at the lower end of Bridgeport Valley in Mono County, California. Its earth-filled dam was constructed in 1923 by the Walker River Irrigation District, along the East Walker River. The campground and marina was built I-don't-know-how-long ago, but it sure is nice!
About Us: Welcome to Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground. Join us for the classic camping and fishing experience with unique views of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Within the Toiyabe National Forest, Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground is conveniently located near two distinct hot spring areas. A true angler's paradise, the Reservoir has excellent trout fishing from spring through fall and is close by to multiple rivers for incredible fly fishing. A 35 minute drive on highway 120 will take you to the Tioga Pass Gate of Yosemite National Park. This gate is a great start to several different areas inside of the park that you may want to visit beyond that gate. Off-road enthusiasts would not have enough time in one visit to explore all of the 4x4 trails, abandoned mines, and sites in the area as well as the famous trail that brings you right to the Bodie Ghost Town.
Climate and Ecosystem: At 6,400 feet (1,950 meters), this high desert climate has little to moderate tree coverage and gets hot during the days and cool at night. The conditions are much like Joshua Tree National Park or Alabama Hills camping area. During your visit, you will notice many flying insects that resemble mosquitos. These Chironomid are harmless and do not bite. On the contrary, the mosquito presence is very minimal.
Swimming in the lake is possible usually between April to July.

We believe in campfires, starry nights, good laughs, exploration, a deep sleep and an early rise. The mountains are a place to get back to basics, a place to explore, to breathe. So turn off your phone and turn on your senses.
It’s important to us that our guests don’t feel they are renting a tent/RV site or a camper as much as they’re immersing themselves into the outdoor experience. You may just want to sit outside and read for days, enjoy campfires and eat s'mores. For more adventurous, there's a full slate of self-guided recreational activities, such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, ATVing, rock climbing, biking, natural water slides, stand up paddle boards, bird watching, available in the area. We do have modern conveniences such as wifi internet; however, we encourage our guests to “unplug” and immerse in the slow paced life instead.
At Paradise Shores, we believe in protecting people, animals and the planet. We make sure that the majority of products we use at our camp is recycled, composted, or re-used. We prefer to use products that are produced in a sustainable way and avoid those that aren't.
We are continuously reducing the amount of waste we generate and actively promote recycling of aluminum, plastic, glass, and cardboard. We pack our own recycling and haul it to the nearest recycling facility which is an hour away. We co-opt the drive with other activities to reduce waste. We don’t use individually packaged toiletries or one-use products. We use plant and planet friendly detergent.
We're based in a desert. We share our precious water with the entire planet. With only 326 million cubic miles of water on the earth, the decreasing amounts of access to quality fresh water is alarming to us. We monitor how we use water in our day-to-day activities and are constantly working on ways to reduce our consumption of fresh-water resources.
We hope you can help us maintain this greener camping!
We hope Paradise Shores Camp becomes your home as it is ours. It’s located in one of the most spectacular areas in the world. We’re surrounded on three sides by the high Sierra Nevada Mountains. Yosemite National Park, Tuolumne Meadows, Mono Lake, June Lake, Virginia Lakes, and Twin Lakes, as well as the historic gold-mining town of Bodie, CA are all within a short drive from our place.
We're proud to know this area intimately and are excited to share the secret spots with you. The excellent hiking/running trails including the Pacific Crest Trail, thousands of miles of ATV, dirt bike and mountain bike trails are accessible right from our camp or within a short drive from here. The surrounding terrain offers endless activities and unbelievable scenery in remote wilderness settings.
Pet Policy
All our RV & Tent sites are pet friendly and we allow up to two dogs per reservation for a small fee. We can also accommodate up to two four-legged campers in our pet-friendly Baja or Tatra trailers for a small fee, we ask that they stay off the furniture (beds, sofas etc.) and are not left in the rental unattended. We love dogs, but sadly won’t be able to accommodate heavily shedding pets that aren’t house trained. Additionally, our insurance will not allow "aggressive breeds" that include any mix of: Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Doberman, German Sheppard.
Please pick up after your pup and use a leash when at the camp. Thank you in advance for your consideration and help in keeping our camp a mellow and enjoyable place for everyone.

Very beautiful piece of property, perfect for an overnighter or multiple days. The directions are very self explanatory. We arrived at night in pitch black and still found it easy. Wood was provided even though we did not purchase it, which we very much appreciated! The site is right on the creek. Very beautiful. There is power via extension cord and a good house for dishes etc. As well a bathroom shower. Host and neighbors are very nice. Definitely will be bad. My daughter, wife and I loved it here.

Weekend Trip to Nolla A-Frames Near Yosemite
Very beautiful nordic-aesthetic cabin and overall comfortable stay. A few things to note:
I recommend arriving before dark --really appreciated Tom coordinating a 4WD ride up to cabin two, but spot was a little tricky to find with limited service. Host was very communicative to help us!
I recommend checking out before 11am, communication after checkout was detail-focused, including documentation of small things during turnover.
In the winter, I recommend bringing at least a few more blankets / warm clothing for warmth all night!
Lastly, make sure to bring your twinkle lights! **key for cozy aesthetic!**

We had such an incredible experience staying here. The property is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, scenic, and truly the perfect place to disconnect and relax. The views alone made the stay unforgettable, and you can really feel how special and well-cared-for the space is.
Shandie was an amazing host from start to finish. She was kind, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful, even checking in and offering help if anyone needed anything. Her generosity and hospitality made us feel comfortable and appreciated, and it meant so much to be able to stay somewhere so serene and inviting.
This was exactly the kind of peaceful escape we were hoping for, and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to experience it. I would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a beautiful, quiet place to relax and recharge. We would love to come back again someday.

Hudson and Wendy’s location is perfect. It’s close enough to the town in case you forget supplies, southern entrance, and next a remarkable waterfall/river that will sooth you to sleep. I’d stay and plan to again!

Really loved the convenience of camp. Showers close by via a quick drive. Propane fire is a must if camping in late January / colder weather. Getting to Yosemite was also very easy. Liza and Tom were very responsive to questions throughout the trip and our stay was great! Highly recommend!

This was a magical place to spend the weekend. We went in the cold and had the place all to ourselves! The property is amazing with all the waterfalls. So peaceful and the owners were so sweet and in good communication the whole trip! We are definitely coming back!!

I was looking for a last minute escape to the mountains to clear my head but didn’t want to deal with a) my own tent or gear, b) a big campground with tons of other people, c) pretentious “glamping” tents, or d) a soulless “cabin” for family reunions. Bonus points for cool design. Liza and Tom’s site was perfect!
Tucked up in the woods so it feels remote but easily accessible from the road and just a few minutes drive to cell service and food options. I was in cabin 2 next to a friendly couple in cabin 3, but when I was inside it felt like I was all alone.
The A-frame itself is a cool minimalist Scandinavian design, with comfy beds and an incredible floor to ceiling window to watch the sunset and pick out constellations after dark.
Outhouse/toilet was comfy, clean and didn’t smell at all. Showers were modern and clean with fresh towels (they’re across the main road so best to drive). I can’t wait to come back for a longer stay!

Weekend Trip to Nolla A-Frames Near Yosemite
We decided last minute on a stay near Yosemite and this place was conveniently near the highway leading to the West entrance but still private and secluded. The views at night with the stars were beautiful!!! We did stay after a snowstorm so it was cold but bundled up with our own extra blankets and sleeping bags and were cozy! Really cozy and very nice to have extra blankets and the charger.

Where to go
June Lake Loop
June Lake is just one of four in the loop, which also includes Gull Lake, Silver Lake, and Grant Lake. Situated in Inyo National Forest’s Mono Basin, at the edge of the Ansel Adams Wilderness Area, the eponymous lake is the first in this chain, and one of its most picturesque. Gull Lake beckons anglers, backcountry hikers head to Silver Lake, and motorized water sports are a draw at Grant Lake. Gull and Grant Lakes both have campgrounds.
Mammoth Lakes
Here you’ll find lakes and mountains that are, well, mammoth. How does 11,053 feet sound? Hitch a ride on the Panorama Gondola up to the summit for a bird’s-eye view. This year-round outdoor adventure playground includes a mountain bike park, numerous hiking trails, and recreational snow sports. And don’t miss the Devils Postpile National Monument nearby.
Yosemite National Park
It’s a short drive to reach Yosemite’s eastern entrance gate via Tioga Road (closed in winter). Tuolumne Meadows, Lembert Dome, and Cathedral Lakes are unrivaled on the scenic beauty scale. Plan a day trip, don a backpack for a multi-day adventure, or explore camping options within or outside the park.
When to go
Fishing season opens in late April, and camping at June Lake lasts from then until late October. Ride the June Mountain chairlift up to the June Meadows Chalet Summer Cafe, or come during winter when the mountain turns into a ski and snowboard resort, with backcountry trails open to ski and snowboard mountaineers and ice climbers. The June Lake Loop is a photographer’s dream in the fall season, with aspen leaves reflecting the crisp autumn light.
Know before you go
- Day visitors to the lake in summertime should plan to arrive early for a parking spot, as the lakeshore can get crowded.
- Boat rentals are available at the June Lake Marina, Big Rock Resort, Gull Lake Marina, or Grant Lake Marina.
- At an altitude of 7,600 feet, June Lake is an active bear area, with a bear-proof locker located at each campsite.
- Dispersed camping is permitted outside of the June Lake Loop and on many dirt roads in the area.
- Overnight hikers can access the Pacific Crest Trail and John Muir Trail, Ansel Adams Wilderness, and Yosemite National Park via the Rush Creek Trailhead.
