2 nights at The Retreat on Big Grizzly Creek

What a slice of heaven on earth this enchanting glampsite was! My husband, toddler and I enjoyed our stay so much and it was a nice break not to have to set up our own tent/toilet. The sound of the creek was absolutely heavenly and made this site especially tranquil. We appreciated the excitement directions given to get here, comfortable bed set up to sleep on, and convenient saw dust toilet with the provided bags/sawdust.

Weekend Trip to TURNER BEACH AT LAKE ALMANOR

We had a wonderful holiday week at Turner’s Beach. Having the place to ourselves was the absolute best! We were able to have our dogs off leash The site was well appointed, the portable potty was a much appreciated and nice touch considering it is a dry camping site. Would recommend and can’t wait to go back!

Weekend Trip to Genesee Camp

It is a beautiful and peaceful area. Secluded campsite, you do not have neighbors close by unless you bring them. Very thoughtful setup with fire pit, seating areas, shovel, fire extinguisher and water bucket to help put out the camp fire. Nice walk to beach creek area to cool off. Plenty of shade and beautiful wild life. We definitely plan to come back.

Weekend Trip to The Retreat on Big Grizzly Creek

This was my first time using Hipcamp, and it completely exceeded my expectations. I usually tent camp and always hope to find a spot that feels more remote than a typical campground—this place delivered. It was elevated, peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature, with the relaxing sounds of the creek and birdsong all around. The site was clean, well-maintained, and had thoughtful amenities. Dan provided detailed directions, making everything super easy. It’s close to Lake Davis and town, yet feels like a true escape. Do come prepared for bugs this time of year—it’s nature, after all! There was a provided citronella candle, but it wouldn’t hurt to bring your favorite mosquito repellent. This is exactly what I hoped Hipcamp would offer: a chance to camp in beautiful, respectful spaces you wouldn’t otherwise be able to access.

3 nights at TURNER BEACH AT LAKE ALMANOR

We had an amazing few days on the shore of Lake Almanor at Lynne’s camp site! What a breath taking view, amazing sunsets and a sky full of stars at night! Lynne was also a fantastic host, very communicative and responsive. Thanks for a great stay, Lynne!

Weekend Trip to Genesee Camp

We loved being hosted by Kristine on her property. It was perfect for us, but it could definitely host a large group. Kris had provided water, plenty of fire wood, and very clean toilets! There were lots of stars at night and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous. We tent camped in early May, two people and two dogs. One of our dogs is very anxious to noises and unknown dogs and people, so it was very nice to let him off leash and not have to worry about other people or dogs nearby. Our dogs loved being able to explore and sniff everything (twice). The first night we walked over to the creek and experienced some biting flies or fleas of some sort on our dogs, but no bites on us people. Nothing that OFF didn’t fix, but good thing we had it. Be prepared for bugs and cold weather if traveling here in late spring. We will definitely book here again, so much fun!

2 nights at Luxury Trailer on Off-grid Emu Farm

What a great little escape - you can be as ‘off the grid’ as you like. Tucked away on a farm a few miles from Pyramid Lake, this was the perfect place for us to stay and the fish the lake during the day. Would definitely recommend. Trailer is nice - would be tough with more than a couple of people though. Unless they’re small people lol 😆 but it was perfect for just me and the hubby. Hosts were super responsive and even showed me around the farm.

TURNER BEACH AT LAKE ALMANOR

Turner Beach At Lake Almanor is a privately owned vacant lakefront lot. The property is wide enough to accommodate 3 RV's/camp trailers end to end, ensuring no blocked views of the lake. You will be camping along Lake Almanor's East Shore on your own private campground instead of "combat camping" in the popular public campgrounds nearby. Additionally, the property can accommodate numerous smaller vans and tents. We have 2 mooring buoys and a large dock. (Dock may no longer be in the water after September) There is a sani-hut potty which is maintained/cleaned weekly. The property is located between the lake and the highway, so there will be road noise. Some guests have been bothered by the traffic and some have not. We have 2 SUP boards, a kayak, and a canoe as well as a 5-person pedal boat that can be borrowed while renting our beach. Doing so will be at your own risk and you are required to wear personal floatation devices (lifejackets). Lifejackets are not provided, so you will need to bring your own. We ask that you please respect our toys and take care not to damage them or lose any parts/pieces. All renters must take their own trash with them when they depart. No Fireworks, No firearms, No drugs allowed. Dogs are allowed and we do have a 10 x 10 x 6 kennel onsite. Campers are responsible for minding their pet's safety, politeness, and picking up their poo-poo's. Marshmallow roasting/cooking fires must be kept small and are only allowed in the provided fire ring. There is some small firewood onsite, and if you need more you can purchase nearby at Almanor Landscape Supply or bring your own. The early mornings are tranquil, and the sunsets are STUNNING! We hope you enjoy your stay! **Please understand, if you private message us asking to pay us directly to avoid the HIPCAMP fees, the answer will be a resounding NO! The property the campsite is on is over 3 acres with the creek being the western border. The property has numerous overlooks of the creek and surrounding fauna with a short hike. Currently, I am building a trail and a sitting area over the most perfect view atop a rock outcropping, perfect for sipping coffee in the morning or beer. No judgment here! We have big plans for this little piece of the earth we own and are excited the share it with you.
