We take great pride in extending a warm and welcoming space for all our visitors and extending the invitation to campers was a great next step. We have listings ranging from yurts to shipping containers, an old water tower converted to a vintage trailer and canvas tents. We are based in between the middle fork of the Yuba river right where it meets up with Oregon Creek. If you like a long walk it is 2.5 miles down the dirt road to Oregon Creek and the middle fork of the Yuba. Driving takes 5 to 10 mins. The other direction is the largest lake in our county Bullards Bar Reservoir and Emerald Cove Marina. We are 1 mile down Marysville Rd. from a launch called dark day. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake. On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink. Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

Camp Watanda is a retired girls summer camp. We have 10 acres of wooded property, with the 4 sleeping cabins close to the waterfront lots of space for pitching tents/dispersed camping. Seclusion in nature yet 4 minutes to downtown Nevada City, and 15 min to rivers and lakes. There are 4 bedrooms in the main house and an optional separate studio to rent. The main house has two bedrooms with king beds, one bedroom with a twin bed and a twin air mattress (if needed), and a room with a queen murphy bed. This allows 8 people max. There are 3 bathrooms. For 9-11 guests, or if you just want extra space for a smaller party, you can rent the separate studio for $170/night plus $125 cleaning fee, plus tax. This is discounted from our regular rates. The studio is beautifully renovated with a queen bed, full kitchen, bathroom, and living area with sofa for a child or young adult to sleep on. You have complete reign of the 8 acre property, including the hot tub, and private creekfront park with gazebo, fire pit, and horseshoe pit. Sometimes we rent out a studio on the property (or you can rent it-- see details above), but studio guests do not have access to acres of the property that are just for you. If you want total privacy, we can block out the studio from being rented for an additional $80/night, or you can rent it for $170/night plus $125 cleaning fee plus tax (see details above). Pack and play, twin air bed, and dining table booster seat with tray are available. Please request the air bed before you arrive, and bring your own sheet for the pack and play. Air bed is usually needed if 8 guests are staying in the main home (if studio is not rented). It can snow occasionally in the winter-- only about 10 days per year between Dec. or Jan. through March. Sometimes we can plow the driveway for longer-term stays. If not, you will either need snow chains and/or a 4WD vehicle to access the home. But-- we are happy to offer a more flexible cancellation policy for winter guests-- please just ask at the time of booking. No parties or events, and please ask if you want to invite anyone to the home who is not in the guest count at booking. We love dogs! We rented Adam’s cabins for our Ultimate Frisbee teams retreat! It exceeded our expectations. Adam’s campground is a whimsical escape tucked into the hills near the Yuba river. During our stay, Adam was easily accessible for any questions we had. He was eager for us to enjoy our stay and made an effort to help us feel at home. The lower cabins were shaded and stayed cool during the summer heat. All cabins were comfortable and cozy. Our 25 person group fit comfortably among the cabins. We would love to come back!

Weekend Trip to Honeycomb Hut

The Honeycomb Hut was wonderful! The best parts of camping (trees, nature, stars) without the worst parts (sleeping on the ground, being cold.) Awesome location close to town, but deep in nature. The hut is beautifully designed. We hope to stay again!

Weekend Trip to Ridgetop Ranch Getaway

My friends and I decided to reserve the Serenity Cabin for our annual camping trip and we had the best time! The pictures do not do any justice at all bc in person, the entire site, the entire location, the art, everything was just BEAUTIFUL!! The cabin was gorgeous! From the little kitchenette, to the bed to the chandelier! And we appreciated the fact that it had a fan bc it was super hot throughout the weekend. The deck was perfect for us to vibe to our music and lay out to gaze under the stars. The outdoor sink and table were a huge plus! Easy cleanup after we were done cooking! I wanted to give a huge thank you to Rebecca and Chris— they were so sweet and kind to us. Rebecca provided us with areas we could visit to beat the heat. And they were always available for any questions we had. We can’t wait to book here again!!!!

Adam has a very nice piece of land, it is a perfect setting for what he has done with it. You get a bit of everything the deep forest to open prairies. The cabins are very rustic, I only saw inside of the Geronimo, however the others appear to be equal in quality. I absolutely loved the group cabins beautiful! ( from the outside of course) If you enjoy just unplugging and being in nature this is where to go. Make sure you do bring bug repellent. Thank you, Adam for sharing your land, with individuals like myself who just need a break from the hustle and bustle.

Weekend Trip to Sunset Oaks Ranch Casita

We absolutely loved our stay at Torry’s casita and were already planning our next visit before we left! From the moment we booked through Hipcamp, Torry was incredibly responsive, kind, and happy to answer all of my questions. Her directions made arrival easy, and everything was clearly marked. This was my husband and my first camping trip together, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The cabin was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything we needed—it truly felt like a home away from home. The thoughtful touches, comfortable beds, great A/C with individual room controls, and extra blanketsmade our stay so cozy. The private pool was sparkling clean, and every seating area was perfectly placed to enjoy the peaceful mountain views. We also loved the grill, the outdoor fire pit, the pet-friendly atmosphere, and outdoor games like horseshoes, corn hole, and Connect 4. Every detail reflected the care Torry puts into her guests’ experience. These three days gave us memories we’ll cherish for years to come. We can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Sunrise Farm

We enjoyed our stay at the Sunset Sanctuary site which was very quiet and peaceful. It felt secluded, though just a couple minutes walk from parking and the communal rustic kitchen and bathroom. Marcia was away when we stayed, but the folks living/working there were very warm and friendly. There is a stove and cookware/dishes but no fridge, so make sure to bring a cooler. Amazing to be super close to lovely Yuba river swimming holes and to enjoy the beautiful stargazing at night! Also had fun on the unexpected giant trampoline on the land!

The skylights, large window, and twinkly lights made everything cozy and peaceful. We enjoyed stargazing at night, doing puzzles, reading, finding cute little frogs hopping outside the cabin, and exploring Nevada city. Thank you Elena and Catherine!

Weekend Trip to Yuba Retreat

Had a great time with my 18m twins and my mom and sister over a weekend. It was so fun seeing the kids get into the spirit of things during their first river hangout. They also learned about picking berries in the amazing garden, they were quick students to how that works. We'll look forward to returning! Thanks for sharing this amazing space.

Weekend Trip to Sierra Sol Camp

We just hosted our 70 person wedding at Deja's property and it was absolutely amazing. This property is pure magic and you can tell how much attention to detail and effort has gone into making it so special over the years. Everyone was comfortable and stoked to be there - from the beautiful outdoor kitchen, late night outdoor baths and stargazing, comfy accommodations, and daily trips to the yuba we all were on cloud 9 and never wanted to leave. Deja was very helpful and communicative with logistics and connecting us with friends - Felix for amazing pizza night and Kat to run the bar. We feel very grateful for the weekend spent here.

We had an amazing stay at Sierra Del Sol Hipcamp celebrating my 50th birthday! The property offers excellent amenities that make camping comfortable while still allowing you to fully enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. One of the highlights is the incredible outdoor kitchen—thoughtfully designed, well-equipped, and a wonderful gathering space for cooking, sharing meals, and connecting with fellow campers. What truly sets Sierra Del Sol apart is its creative and artistic vibe. The space feels intentionally curated, with unique touches throughout that create a warm, inspiring atmosphere. There’s a sense of creativity that really brings together community and beauty that makes the experience feel much more special than a typical campground. The overall atmosphere is peaceful, welcoming, and relaxing, making it easy to unwind and reconnect with nature in the beautiful gardens. Whether you're looking for a quiet retreat, a creative escape, or a memorable outdoor adventure, Sierra Del Sol is the best! The cool cathedral space was great for late night dancing and the suspended campfire was really a highlight. Thanks Sierra Del Sol for a memorable birthday experience!

Weekend Trip to Wisdom eco-preserve

We had a great time at the Serenity Cabin. It was beautiful and secluded in the woods with everything we needed. We brought a cast iron pan with us to cook outside on the fire which I would recommend to anyone in the future! The bathroom was a short walk across the meadow. The mosquitos were around but once we lit a citronella candle and started a fire they did not bug us at all (haha). We enjoyed activities nearby Nevada City, Scotts Flat Reservoir, and the Yuba River at Edwards Crossing Bridge as well. Adam has created a beautiful property that is very lovely and relaxing.

This is my second time staying here, in a different cabin. The property is beautiful and Adam is really helpful if anything is needed. Good walking and hiking and close to swimming holes. There is an outhouse + a proper toilet attached to Adam’s house for campers to use. Would come back!

We loved the Geronimo cabin! I went up with my friend and our children and we had a lovely and easy stay. I stayed in a different cabin over Mother’s Day weekend the year before and they upped their cleanliness. The bathrooms have clean towels to use. Decent walks on property with kids. Enjoyed the fire pit, and smelt some very good cooking on the grills from the cabin next door. I was a little nervous it would feel too crowded over Memorial Day weekend, but it was very comfortable.
