LOCATION INFO Enjoy a rustic, no-fuss stay on our 20-acre working farm just 15 miles south of Bakersfield, with easy freeway access. Campsites sit along the pond—perfect for catch-and-release fishing, paddle boarding, or kayaking. We have a small area with farm animals (pigs, goats, sheep, peacocks and chickens) for you to enjoy. Most guests are road-tripping, escaping LA, or stopping over en route to Yosemite, Sequoia, or Joshua Tree. Expect a desert climate: hot summers, cold winters. Each site includes a small table, potable water spigot, picnic table, and fire pit (bring your own wood). All sites are BYO tent or car-camping with the exception of our one Glamping Site which includes a queen bed. Some have vehicle height limits (noted in site names), and cannot accommodate pop-ups or truck campers. Amenities include one shared indoor toilet and an outdoor hot/cold shower. You may be greeted by our friendly, working farm dogs. We offer self check-in and you're welcome to arrive anytime after 1PM; checkout is 11AM. Please respect quiet hours after 10PM if arriving late. CAMP RULES No Pets – Our dogs protect the farm and see other animals as threats. You will be asked to leave with no refund if you bring a pet. Quiet Hours: 10 PM–7 AM – No exceptions. If we receive complaints about noise, you’ll be asked to leave immediately. 1 Tent + 1 Car per Site (Site 4 allows 2 tents/2 cars). If you need more tents, you will need to book multiple sites. No tents or canopies on the grass/lawn area. No fireworks or open flames outside of designated fire pits. Propane burners or grills are permitted. Do not feed the farm dogs—no treats or food, ever. At checkout: dispose of trash in the dumpster by Site 5, soak any hot coals, wipe down tables, and put back the kayaks and paddleboards. Shower use: Only farm-provided shampoo and soap are allowed. Fire pits must stay in place. Do not move them.

Our camp area is right next to our home. We live on 2 acres which is apart of our families 500 acre ranch and home to a summer camp and retreats. There are nice hiking trails we can direct you to as long as the National Forest isn't closed. We have a few picnic tables, outdoor electrical, a grill, fresh spring water, water hook up and beautiful scenery all around. We do own a few ca.  Our space isn’t huge but we are happy to share. We live in a remote area and its beautiful and quiet.  There is a local town 6 miles down the road that has several places to eat and one small place to get some grocery. This property that we live on has been lived on now by 4 generations. My grandpa bought this land with his brother in 1940s. His brother eventually sold his portion leaving my grandpa with a little over 500 acres...We also run retreats off and on year round on the main property and offer a wide variety of things for our clients. Due to COVID, and the strange year had, we thought that this would help us gain a little of our money lost as well as meet some really cool travelers along the way. We call this God's country because it is a unique and beautiful peace of land, even in the driest of moments. And...there is beautiful manzanita trees all over property. We personally live 1/2 mile from the main part of the property Jameson Ranch, where the summer camp is held. I love to garden and are in the process of expanding our portion of the property to putting in fruit orchards and berry bushes. Our whole property also borders the Sequoia National Forest and there are some fun walking trails around there. Its very peaceful here and a reconnect with nature so to speak if that is what you are looking for. We hope to share this little bit of our heaven with you. Side note: If interested in the summer time programs for kids camp or family camp, let us know and we are happy to share that with you too.

OrangeRay, home of Pixie's Place Animal Sanctuary and Hospice was founded in 2007, when I left L.A. for the forest by the river to create, and to expand my shamanic pursuits. Being that Three Rivers was home to the socialist Kaweah Colony in the 1800's; which helped in the founding of Sequoia National Park; the area is rich in history. Poet John Muir was enchanted and inspired by this area; Walt Disney fell under her spell as well when he envisioned a "Swiss Chalet" style resort which never came to fruition. The water wars of California began right here; gold rush...right here! "Kaweah" is the name given by the Indians for the sound the Crow makes. Three Rivers literally sits on slabs of quartz crystal, making rock hunting superb! As an energy practitioner, the quartz heightens the healing process; as well as creating an energy vortex. My property sits on an area that was once an Indian village, and then the school house for the children of the pioneers. There was a huge Hare Krishna Colony up here in the 60-70's. As a photographer and filmmaker, the lighting up here is amazing! The night skies literally pulsate with their celestial canopy. A great spot to sky watch as well! The property is not kid-friendly, and is not really here for children as much as it is offered for the inner child in adults. WE ARE 420 friendly which is in opposition to most "family" landscapes....so please note this is not personal but I prefer no children xo Also, I prefer no pets, as it disrupts the balance here with the animal residents :) I share fresh eggs when available :) (The shower is not available to guest :)

The property has direct and exclusive access to the Kern River where you can swim, tube, sunbathe and fish. You are welcome to pitch a tent by the river; however, we ask that you please notify us as the lawn irrigation is fully sprinkler operated. Just on the other side of the river you will find the California Living Museum (local zoo), Lake Ming, Kern River Golf Course, multiple riverfront picnic spots, Miracle Hot Springs up the mountain, hiking trails, nature walks. and more! Less than an hour up the road are wilderness camp sites and Lake Isabella. Continuing onward is the Sequoia National Forest where you can visit for the day knowing a comfortable & safe home will be welcoming your return. *No parties or events allowed (Please, no music or loud noises allowed outside of the home). This is a extremely quiet neighbrohood and noise travels fast & easily. Quiet hours are 10pm-8am. Our camp area is right next to our home. We live on 2 acres which is apart of our families 500 acre ranch and home to a summer camp and retreats. There are nice hiking trails we can direct you to as long as the National Forest isn't closed. We live in a remote area and its beautiful and quiet.  There is a local town 6 miles down the road that has several places to eat and one small place to get some grocery. This property that we live on has been lived on now by 4 generations. My grandpa bought this land with his brother in 1940s. His brother eventually sold his portion leaving my grandpa with a little over 500 acres...We also run retreats off and on year round on the main property and offer a wide variety of things for our clients. Due to COVID, and the strange year had, we thought that this would help us gain a little of our money lost as well as meet some really cool travelers along the way. We call this God's country because it is a unique and beautiful peace of land, even in the driest of moments. And...there is beautiful manzanita trees all over property. We personally live 1/2 mile from the main part of the property Jameson Ranch, where the summer camp is held. I love to garden and are in the process of expanding our portion of the property to putting in fruit orchards and berry bushes. Our whole property also borders the Sequoia National Forest and there are some fun walking trails around there. Its very peaceful here and a reconnect with nature so to speak if that is what you are looking for. We hope to share this little bit of our heaven with you. My property sits on an area that was once an Indian village, and then the school house for the children of the pioneers. There was a huge Hare Krishna Colony up here in the 60-70's. As a photographer and filmmaker, the lighting up here is amazing! The night skies literally pulsate with their celestial canopy. A great spot to sky watch as well! The property is not kid-friendly, and is not really here for children as much as it is offered for the inner child in adults. Great getaway place, everything was perfect. Wendy definitely makes this a special place. Pictures of what the place is are on point, ypu have everything you could thing off, loved the eggs, you have acess to the river super close to Sequoia if that is something you want to do. Def a place to be free and enjoy nature, would def love to come back! Wendy is such a great host.

Absolutely awesome and unique place to stay. Wendi is genuinely such a wonderful host. Her animals are all absolutely lovely to have around. Loved staying in the little vintage trailer and really enjoyed getting to sit under the stars next to a little fire every night. Her spot is right on the river and I def recommend taking a dip and laying in the hammock as the sun rises. Location is great if you are planning on going into Sequoia National Park for some adventures too!

Weekend Trip to Kernville Ranch
Great location off the beaten path. Nice and quiet, with lots of critters to gawk at, domesticated and wild. Deer wandered by while we soaked in the hot tub watching horses, and at night we were serenaded by nearby coyotes. The property has lots of character itself and is near enough to Kernville proper to go out for a hot meal, browse its shops, or hunt-down Quartzburg ghost town (which I strongly recommend!).

Weekend Trip to Bakersfield Farm Animals & Pond
My daughter just turned 17. Instead of a party she said, “I want to go camping with my friends and see the stars.” Which is awesome accept that the last time she went camping she was ten and her Dad and I did all of the heavy lifting and while I am sure she and her friends could have learned the hard way how to camp, since it was her birthday i wanted it to be special and easy. I searched on HipCamp and found, “Camping by the pond,” and, “Autonomous Farms.” I thought, “Oh. This is perfect.” I arrived before the girls and was greeted by the camp host, a white furry beautiful goddess named, Cleo, aka a Dog. I was alone but surrounded by goats, ducks, cows, chickens, peacocks, the sound of toads and other farm animals and Cleo hung by me as I unpacked the Wagoneer and set up the teepee, tent, sunshade, and birthday signs. I felt safe with Cleo as every time a car drive by, her ears shot up, her eyes went laser beam and her tail stood up. I knew, no matter what comes, Cleo is going to guard us. When my girls arrived, my new BF and I greeted them. On the first night, Cleo slept outside our tents and on day 2 she slept with the girls.

What a wonderful place to stay!! The glamping tent and bed were super comfortable with all we needed. Loved looking out our “door” at the fountain in the pond and hearing the flow of water. Beautiful starlit skies away from city. Fun to feed the sheep, goats, and pigs. Also, we adored the company of our gentle dog host!! 💕 Great place!!

Weekend Trip to OrangeRay~Three Rivers
Cannot recommend this Hipcamp enough! The property is perfect for a weekend getaway, and Wendi is an incredible host and truly a gem of a human, as other reviewers have also commented. We stayed in the teepee next to the reading nook and had everything we needed: a fan, light, and outlet inside the tent; dishes and cutlery and a camping stove (though we brought our own); a cooking area, an eating area, and two pool chairs to lay out. The reading nook provided a chill space to watch a movie on our iPad at night, and a quiet place for reading and meditation during the day. Outside, the property had so much to offer: plenty of animals all with unique personalities, river access (water was flowing in late September), and serene nature all around. The grocery store is less than a 5 minute drive away. Wendi deserves her own shoutout apart from the property and sleeping/playing amenities. She is an amazing host and an absolute joy to chat with. Knowing it was my boyfriend’s birthday, she went out of her way to have a cupcake and candle prepared for us in the nook! But it didn’t stop there — she also washed our dishes for us and prepared our firewood each night. She made our trip a relaxing getaway. There’s so much I could say in this review, but I’ll leave it at that and say: you have to visit Pixie’s Place for yourself if you want to experience the magic! We came as strangers and left with a new friend, and we will be back because our experience was that unique. Love you, Wendi!

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning views that surrounded us—rolling fields, lush greenery, and the tranquil pond creating the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable getaway. The pond was a highlight of the trip—whether it was kayaking, fishing, or just relaxing by the water, it offered endless fun and serenity. The farm animals were absolutely delightful; we loved interacting with the friendly goats, chickens, and other animals, making it a truly authentic farm experience. A special shoutout to the staff, who were incredibly helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. What a gem! Beautiful setting, easy access, super clean and comfy bed set up in the glamping tent. Bathroom was sparkling too! Only minor annoyance was the amount of tiny flies milling around, but that’s totally to be expected when you’re camping alongside a picturesque pond. We may just stop there again on our way back home!

Great escape from the city and a super reasonable drive from LA. Super versatile stay — quiet and peaceful with lots of open land and grass, mountains in the backdrop, kayaking and paddle boating on the pond, and even some farm animals. It’s also fairly close to stores and the city. Definitely recommend if you’re looking to escape the city for a bit without much planning or sacrificing too much convenience.

Wendy was an absolute treasure. So welcoming and so thoughtful. Provided so many little things that made us feel right at home (left salt and pepper out for us when we forgot, washed our dishes despite our insistence, provided clean towels, etc.). She goes above and beyond for her HipCampers. The Tipi was so comfortable and had a little reading nook/shed that comes along with it. Perfect for changing, hanging out, and storage. Awesome station for cooking, picnic table for eating, and lounge chairs for stargazing. The animals were so amazing too! If you're looking to have your batteries recharged in the most beautiful and welcoming environment, stay here!

Mark was a great host and so welcoming. The area where we stayed in was really nice and had some shade. Parking wasn’t far from the tents and the wagon that he lets you borrow for your things was really helpful. Would definitely camp here again!!
