The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest is made up of 1.8 million acres and spans from the Western Cascades to the Siskiyou Mountains. The treehouse is in a beautiful redwood forest, and is a fabulous experience to say you slept in a treehouse in the Redwoods. You must supply your own bedding and carry it up some wide wooden steps and then a very narrow, steep metal spiral staircase to the top. There is a small bucket at the bottom on a pulley system to the top, but I found it was too small to fit my sleeping bag, pillow, and blanket. David was a wonderful host and helped me haul my sleeping bag up, so that helped a lot. Just keep in mind that anything bulky is fairly difficult to get up the stairs. Also, the supplied camping mattress was too thin for my preference; I’m on the heavy side and sleep on my side, so that may have been why. It’s very clean and in excellent condition (the camp mattress) but bring more padding if you are one who needs it. The compost toilet/sink area was very clean and pleasant. Overall a great stay!

This was an amazing and unique experience. David is an excellent and gracious host. I arrived late and had trouble finding the exact location in the dark, and David promptly came out to meet me and show me the way. The treehouse is visually impressive and spending a night there is great for the soul. Highly recommend this place!

The directions that David sent were great and even easy to follow in the dark and rain :) The sleeping area was cozy (think tent size) and dry, and the amount of animal and rain sounds made it really feel you had stepped away from it all. Instructions for the bathroom use and local directions were easy to find and waterproof. It was so close to the National Park and Crescent City coastline and lighthouse that we had a really enjoyable stay.
