Kimberly was very communicative with clear instructions on how to access the beautiful stay. The location is quaint, admirable and near hiking trails. I enjoy my morning walk and privacy. Definitely I recommend you check it out if you’re looking for privacy, convenience and nature!

Kimberly's campsite was exactly as described. It was spacious, peaceful and perfect for dry camping. We especially loved that we could bring our dogs and the ground was level so we didn't have to sleep at an angle. The tight turn into the spot is not conducive to anyone pulling a long trailer. Sorry! The campsite is nestled in a quiet neighborhood near a lagoon. Seriously, we slept with the windows open and all we heard were the peaceful sounds of nature. Lovely, lovely stay!!

We had an effortless stay at this beautiful property and will probably be back at some point! There is a hiking trail 10 yards from the spot that we enjoyed as well. Great communication from Kimberly, fair price especially for being so close to the coast, and accurate description on the hipcamp page. See you again soon.

The Little Red Barn is a cozy and comfortable glamping stay located conveniently near Valley Parkway in Escondido, close to shops, restaurants, and great hiking at Elfin Forest. It’s one of three glamping structures on the property. The high ceilings and additional loft mattress make the barn feel spacious, and we appreciated the little touches like electricity, a fan, and a heater for cooler nights. The shared bathroom area was clean, modern, and had reliable hot water — a big plus!
There’s plenty of shared outdoor space with picnic tables, lounge chairs, and seating areas, making it a great place to relax. We didn’t even need to use the heater during our mid-October stay — the weather was perfect.
This spot is a great introduction to camping for those who want the outdoor feel without being too far from the city. Our pup loved exploring the space (though the $50 pet fee is a bit on the higher side). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, laid-back glamping experience close to town!

This spot was a great respite- so quiet and private! We made Del Mar our central hub as we road tripped around SoCal in a 22 foot van and appreciated a nice place to stay each night. Access instructions were very clear and helpful and we had no issues getting our rig into this spot. I can see how any bigger some might have an issue. We could still get to the beach and amenities within minutes from this spot. Would recommend this spot if you are looking for a quiet retreat in the Del Mar area!!

Scott and Susanne were so kind and such a pleasure to meet! The property is beautiful and not far from some beaches. They allowed us to say hello and meet all the boarded horses on their property and we were surprised by the beautiful shed Scott built and decorated as well as surprised by the hot water shower! This all really elevated our camping experience and I would 10/10 recommend camping here regardless if you bring horses or just yourself and some friends!

Stellar location close to the San Dieguito Lagoon for bird watching and located just steps from the Crest Trail that takes you past the lagoon and all the way to the beaches at Del Mar. We enjoyed cool, quiet nights with a great view. Kimberly was very welcoming.

Good spot for those off grid and simple get away easy to find. Very large incline to entry of camping spot . I have a 22ft camper that weighs 11k lbs and it was a technical feet to enter . But all that being said it was a beautiful spot and well worth a visit

Quiet large area. Chain across gate. We unhooked and went in. Owner did call upon arrival and confirmed.
No problems. Large RV’s if you miss the spot the turn around is hard.
Spot is right on the curve to the left.
The was an empty camper there of the owners. No one in it.

Weekend Trip to Unique City Escapes
The tent is really cute and welcoming. We had little trouble locating it at first due to GPS instruction. The tent has nice and comfortable blankets and bed / couch mattress are comfortable. Overall it is great stay. However. There is only one shared bathroom & shower for 3 units (which can total up to 10 people if fully occupied).. it will be nice to have an extra bathroom.

Weekend Trip to Unique City Escapes
My daughter and I loved the tent! It was comfy and had plenty of room. There was a lot of outdoor space for hanging out and had a good view. It was nice and quiet at night. Restrooms and shower were very nice. Would love to go back and check out the cabins, they looked super cute as well!!

Loved this place and Scott and his wife were amazing. Facilities are great and they have a wonderful staff if you want anything for your horses! Even mules, donkeys, and a camel :)

A handful of grassy tent sites, partially shaded by jacaranda trees, on a private working horse ranch in the middle of the Tijuana River Valley Regional Park, a couple miles inland from the beach, and a stone's throw away from the border wall with Tijuana. There's a porta-potty as well as a porta-shower, and a 'hangout,' which is a small barn-like structure with a front porch and a sink with running water, and a propane BBQ on a back deck. Hosts Scott and Suzanne were accommodating and friendly.

I love Horse camping at DJ Stables. First of all it has improve since the owners are now living there and running it..
The place is clean, the owners are so kind and they make sure everyone is happy and comfortable. Riding from the Staples to the beach is only mile and a half, and it’s a fantastic ride. The Stables offer a shower and an outhouse, and they are kept very clean. The horse stalls are big clean and they offer feeding and cleaning as well.

We loved D&J Ranch! My son Wes and I spent last weekend camping down at D&J ranch for my birthday and we had an absolute blast! Everyone on the property was respectful, kind and Knowledgeable. We were supposed to just camp on the property but both were able to find riding Lessons with Lauren:m. One of the horse trainers! We will definitely be back 🤙

I was pleasantly surprised by this peaceful camp spot. The hosts were so kind and friendly. Brought my 7 month old puppy who also had a great experience with their
dogs, Koda and Tucker. I am looking forward to my next trip to San Diego and hopefully there will be a spot for me. I would say, don't hesitate to give this ranch your business. It's rustic and peaceful!
