The area features excellent road and mountain biking in the immediate vicinity, vast access to hiking and backpacking trails, a huge variety of rock climbing in the area, the best whitewater rafting in California on the Tuolumne River, with some tasty places to eat or drink coffee in the nearby town of Groveland, just 10 minutes away. Accommodations at the farm are certainly rustic, and private but not secluded, with occasionally heavily project-exploded shared kitchen and living space, showers, and airy flush toilets. Do be advised that animals are pooping, hammers are hammering, sometimes we need to look into a health or animal injury related issue. Sometimes there is blood in an animal birth or slaughter, and our working guardian dogs have been known to be noisy some nights. Water and electricity are both very limited (though we reuse all our water), waste must be carefully sorted into a number of different categories, and there is always evidence of ump-teen projects unfolding at once. The most difficult condition during much of the summer are nuisance flies, which are always gone at night. We have almost no mosquitoes or ticks. Depending on the exact situation and time of year, guests may have the opportunities to snuggle with baby animals and run our herd to or from pasture, and maybe even get their hands dirty picking veggies in the garden.

The master bedroom has a king bed, full bathroom. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and a single bed. Each bedroom has a smart TV in it. The family room has a smart TV as well. The Wi-Fi is strong and can stream movies, video games, emails, cell phones etc. The space Guests have access to the whole house as well as Pine Mountain Lake amenities. There is a $44 fee per car to enter the gate. This gives you access to the amenities for the length of your stay up to 7 days. Dogs are limited to 3. We do not allow Rottweilers, Dobermans, pit bulls, chows, and wolf breeds. Also any dog mixed with these breeds are not permitted. Dogs are not allowed on the beach at Pine Mountain Lake, they must be on a leash at all times. Please do not leave in the home unattended without a crate. Weekend Trip to Wondernut Farm

Wondernut Farm is a perfect getaway. Everyone who lives here is super warm and welcoming. I loved hanging with all the animals, but my favorites were the sweet, smart doggies who roamed the property freely and joined on little hikes. The wood stove in the Overlook cabin was also my favorite - so cozy! And also the bed! Super comfortable and a marvelous view to wake up to too. ❤️

We were only able to stay one night and just wish we could have stayed longer! The cabin was nice and cosy, the super moon was bright and the dogs were so welcoming! 💓 I really wish we could have spent more time at the farm but grateful for our stay!

Matt + Eve and their amazing staff were beyond warm and welcoming during my stay, making me feel right at home. Everyone was respectful of leaving space for solitude while also being friendly and fun/easy to converse with. The cabin itself is super cute, but partly open-air making it pretty cold this time of year, esp when the sun isn’t on it. I would recommend bringing tons of warm base layers to sleep in or consider booking one of the other cabins with a heat source if you’re feeling unsure! Overall I had an amazing time and would happily return.

Wondernut Farm is fantastic. The lookout was gorgeous, calm and super cozy. Despite an overnight 41 degree F temp, we were warm and the amenities were fantastic. The farm is gorgeous as well, we got to see pigs, goats and sheep, and may daughter had the time of her life. Matt and Eve were super welcoming, and everyone was kind. Can't say enough good things.

We loved this little cabin and the entire stay at Wondernut Farm! Eve met us on arrival around a roaring wood stove in the hand-built glass communal living room. We met all the sweet dogs and then she showed us around the expansive shared kitchen before walking us up the hill to our adorable cabin. The huge window has a great view of the hillside, and we laid in bed watching shooting stars. The bed was SO comfortable, with a thick foam topper and nice sheets and pillows. The next morning, we got to meet the goats, sheep, and pigs as well as learn a little bit about the cheese making process. Highly highly recommend — we hope to go back!

We had a great time at Wendy & Hudson’s cabin. The view of the waterfall from the deck was one of our favorite parts. In close second were the sunset views over the boulder. I had been looking for something that was secluded and private, and we got just that!! Parking down the driveway can be a bit tricky and getting down to the shower/bathroom is a bit aways, but all in all it was absolutely worth it! We came near the new moon and got to enjoy the stars each night, which was quite a treat. It’s about 1.5 hour drive from the center of Yosemite, but there are also lots of nature spots to checkout nearby too. I’d definitely recommend Wild Fig in Coarsegold for brunch or lunch and Clouds Rest Coffee in Oakhurst. A special shoutout to Wendy who was an incredible host and just an all around lovely person. We’d definitely come back here and I’d love to camp at the second site on their property!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Magical Getaway! This campsite was everything we hoped for and more! It was peaceful, absolutely beautiful, and incredibly private—the perfect place to disconnect from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with nature. The entire experience felt enlightening and refreshing. The RV was extremely comfortable and homey, with cozy touches that made it feel like a true retreat. The kitchen was stocked with every utensil we could’ve possibly needed, which made cooking super easy and enjoyable. The views were breathtaking, especially during sunrise and sunset. One of the best parts was being able to hike along the river and explore nature without seeing another person—just pure tranquility and wide-open space. Other things we loved: ✅ Super clean and well-maintained space ✅ Thoughtful host who clearly care about the guest experience ✅ Perfect balance of comfort and “outdoor adventure” ✅ A hidden gem that feels private but still safe and welcoming If you’re looking for a beautiful, serene escape where you can relax, recharge, and enjoy nature in complete privacy, this is the place. Mac’s cabin was a comfortable and beautiful experience. We enjoyed each moment that he came by and spoke with us. He took the time to check in on us with friendly laughter. The restrooms and showers were very conveniently located. The amenities like the microwave and heater were very handy. At the end of our trip, Mac was very friendly enough to leave us with hand picked tomatoes and a watermelon from his garden. Not to mention that I made an oversight on our trip dates and Mac was more than accommodating to push up our stay and adjust the dates. He’s very helpful and his campground is top notch across the board. Highly recommend would come again.

Loved the small cabin. Very quiet, its got a call breeze coming in all directions, and a loud sound of the small creek waterfall. The bed is so comfortable, and relaxing. Small porta is good, and the shared bathroom at the main house is clean with hot water, its a win-win with a good price.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Wilderness Bridge for two nights and had a wonderful experience. The farm is peaceful and beautifully maintained, offering a relaxing environment throughout our stay. Matt and the people living on the farm were warm and welcoming, and their hospitality made us feel at home. We especially enjoyed the friendly dogs on the property and the stunning views that surrounded us. The Wilderness Bridge itself is about a 10-minute hike, and the view at the top is truly remarkable and well worth the effort. Overall, this was a memorable stay, and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking a quiet and scenic retreat.

Our family absolutely loved this area! Great location! The camp was very well maintained and thought out. You can feel the love they have put into this property. The cabins were great and had everything we needed for our family of four. The kids (4&8) loved seeing the wild quail coveys, the star gazing nets and the sunset swing! The owners and camp host were very kind with wonderful communication. Both taking extra time to answer my questions about the land, property, buildings and a neighboring forest fire. We felt very comfortable and safe!!!
