It was a very secluded area. I loved the fact that I was the only person there and there was no other camper it was nice. It wasn't very far from Yosemite. And you had everything there you needed a shower, A toilet. Gallon of water. Fire pit.

The host had the camp ground equipped with a picnic table under a tent canopy, which was greatly enjoyed for food prep. He had a nice screened fire pit and comfy chairs to chilax in. Camp site #1 had nice big shade trees and was the best choice of the 2 that we saw. The best surprise was the cool red wood shower that had on demand hot water for great showers, a surprise luxury. Take water, as hosts warned, there is no water, thus no real toilets either, but a very clean and well stocked port-a-pot!
This camp site is surprisingly close to Yosemite west entrance on 120!
I will stay there again on our next visit.
Oh yeah, and at night... those stars! Wow!

It's a very nice site if you don't mind being 100ft from the highway. Traffic dies at night but picks up pretty early. The amenities were exactly as listed and having the gas station across the street was great. If you have a large group get both the sites because they're very close. I would stay again. The shower, portopotty and table were perfect.

Beautiful campground! Spacious spots and full RV hookups. It’s right beside a grocery store and bar/casino so that was fun. It was also quiet for the most part though (some people about a half a mile away let off fireworks while we were there so that was annoying) so all in all I def recommend!

Site #1 was put together very well and was spacious, shower and restroom were clean and had no issues while there. Site also comes with its own canopy which is super helpful. Before your stay you do get a message which Jim does go very into detail in regards to the site and how to work specific items there. Site is also only 7-10 minutes away from Yosemite, does not feel like a long ride, definitely enjoy the view while you are there it is all beautiful. Definitely recommend trying this camp site out!

Jim, wow what an amazing spot! Love the care you put into this camp with the hot water shower, hammock, chairs and canopy. We enjoyed it so much! We did get a bear coming around to see if we left anything out for him. Thankful for the bear box! We will definitely be back.

We stayed at site #1 over Labor Day weekend, 2025. Overall the site was great and I would recommend as a place to stay. The site is already well reviewed so I'll only talk about items I haven't seen mentioned in other reviews.
Site #1 is well shaded throughout the day by the surrounding trees and there's a 10 ft canopy covering the picnic table. It has a large hammock suspended between two trees. It has a fully functional hot water shower powered by a tankless gas heater.
Site #2 is about 30 yards away and there is kind of a hill separating the two sites so you can't really see the other campers at their table/tent but you can see them when they go to the porta potty. sound doesn't really carry between the sites. The shared water spigot is super close to site #1. I'd rate privacy at a 7 out of 10.
We did notice that the property was frequently used as a turnaround for those who missed turning into the gas station and for whatever reason those folks drove 50+ yards up the private road to the camps to make their turn around. I'd say this happened about once per hour the whole time we were there.
And then there were the insects attacking our fatty food (hot dogs, bacon, hamburgers). It was pretty relentless. They looked like wasps but they didn't sting. I think they were hover flies? Anyway, we had to spray the picnic table with bug spray and let it dry before putting food/plates down just to keep them at bay.
Again, great experience. Would recommend.

It’s a beautiful self-sufficient spot, all things necessary are at hand. There’s a shop at the Valero gasstation nearby. The park entrance on the 120 highway is nearby, as is the helpful information center and spot to get fresh drinking water. A 4WD car makes things easier

The sites were nicely maintained, relatively private (near a main road across from a gas station and other sleeping accommodations), and close to Yosemite Park. It was easy to be in the park early with the close proximity. We had no issues and the port-a-potty well cleaned and serviced often enough that it wasn't unpleasant. Jim was very helpful and communicative with additional information. We would definitely stay again.

We loved Jim’s site by the Big Oak entrance! Super convenient to the entrance and a mini mart close by for ice and things we ran out of. The shower after a full day of hiking was the best. Jim was a great communicator and things were clear. We chose to do the tent set up after a long drive from Oregon and it was so lovely to have it all ready to go when we got there.

This was a really nice campsite. The shower and portapotty were both really nice. The shad structure and light were also wonderful. Being right across the street from a gas station with decent food and beer selection was also very advantageous. We could have used a bit larger space to pitch our tents, but it was a minor detail. (We had two two-person tents.)

Super convenient location. You can walk from your campsite to the store. The road is close by but being 10 min away from the park entrance is great and it’s not too noisy at night. It can get pretty hot at site 2 after 11 am in the summertime (I visited early July) as the sun hits it until the sunset. The shade structure helps but you will be toasty. The solar shower is an amazing after a long day of hiking perfect for the sunset when the temp is a bit cooler. The bear box comes with its own key and lock which I thought was a nice touch.

Are you going backpacking in Yosemite? We did. We loved it. Staying here the night before made a huge difference. First of all, you begin to get acclimated. Elevation is 3,000 feet. The site was neat, clean and simple. The host left some firewood, there's a bear box to stow your food and other scented items, string lights, outlet for charging. The night sky was beautiful.
