We have a neighbor that walks by each morning with 2 large and friendly dogs around 6:30-7am. There are coyotes and other wild animals that can be in the area so dogs should never be let out alone after dark. We do have a compact washer/dryer and only give access only for stays 5 or more nights. Please keep in mind we are on hauled water and usage should be within reason. OUTDOOR AMENITIES: We have a sitting area with wood firepit. Please note we do not provide firewood--they can be purchased at any local grocery store. If we have some there you are welcome to use it, but we don’t guarantee we will supply it or replenish if it runs out during your stay. If you are coming for a long stay and would like a lot of firewood, our neighbor can give you a quote to deliver. HOT TUB: No glass around or in hot tub, we have plastic cups provided. All 4 buckles on the cover and extra sandbags must be secured when not in use—it gets very windy here and the cover could easily blow away. Hot tub can be used any time, but please respect our neighbors and keep noise to a minimum after 10pm. ***Please note our hot tub gets serviced weekly on Fridays*** TV/INTERNET: We have a Roku TV with basic live channels as well as typical smart apps. Our wifi is 25 down/5 up and we typically actually get those speeds or a bit more on our tri-band mesh network with coverage both inside and outside the house. I have been able to watch streaming TV plus use my laptop to work at the same time without any issues. However please note when it gets especially windy, the internet can go in and out. DESERT/CABIN STUFF TO CONSIDER!! Please be aware we are in the actual desert! We have lots of nature around us and you will see some bugs and critters during your stay. We recommend keeping door closed at all times whenever possible to prevent bugs from getting in. During the summer there are lots of flies--if you leave doors open they will get inside. We have eco-friendly bug spray provided. In order to reach the house you'll need to drive about a mile down a dirt road. It's generally well-maintained and easy to drive, any type of car should be able to drive it (including regular sedans, etc.). However if there's heavy rain, it's possible it could be too muddy for 2-wheel drive vehicles. I have been able to get here without a problem in my 2WD SUV in the rain and even snow, but we are at the mercy of Mother Nature! Due to their age and not having screens, the windows are not to be opened (they are difficult to close and require multiple people and possibly tools to close them, tons of bugs go inside if left open, etc.). You can run the A/C on fan only if you want air circulation without A/C, but guests are not permitted to open them. We are on a water tank which means you need to be aware of willing to be conscious of your water use. Due to being on hauled water and septic and high electric costs, absolutely no filling up, emptying, or hooking up power of RVs, electric cars, trailers, etc. We have plenty of room if you want to park them on our property. We have two partially buried storage containers which we have created a barrier edge around the top, but guests need to be very cautious around the edges as there is a steep drop off on the other side of the barrier. In general guests need to take extreme care if choosing to walk around the yard as there may be steps and inclines that may be dangerous to walk on. There are animals and sharp desert plants on the property which could be dangerous to pets, children, or even adults. Guests exploring the property or letting their children/pets wander around the property do so at their own risk. If you drive off of the gravel areas of the driveway, you could get stuck in the sand, especially if your car does not have 4-wheel drive. We recommend to only drive and park on the areas with the gray rocks. As we are in an area where water is an especially precious resource, please be mindful of running the dishwasher or washing machine only when it's full, and if possible at night when the energy costs are lower. No electric car charging--if you charge your car or use any energy heavy equipment you will be charged an additional $50/day, or for actual cost of the extra usage above our average daily use, whichever is higher. This is a high fire hazard area, use of the firepit or smoking outside must be done with extreme care. Any fires in the firepit and cigarette butts must be fully extinguished and cannot be left unattended. Sometimes during high winds the county prohibits fires. It can get quite windy is this area, so we do not recommend leaving anything outside that could blow away or get knocked over. For this reason no inside furniture or linens can go outside at any time. Outdoor blankets must be taken with you when you go back inside. When it's especially windy power and/or internet can go in and out. Some carriers get service at our house, but the most reliable method is to turn your phone into airplane mode and connect to the wifi. In the Summer: A/C should be turned off or left at 78 when leaving the house for extended periods of time. Door should always be closed when A/C is on. In the Winter: Heating should be turned off or left at 65 when leaving the house for extended periods of time. Door should always be closed when heating is on.

3 nights at Three Pines Cabin | Boulder Bay

We loved our stay at Three Pines, Very convenient, inexpensive cabins right in the heart of Boulder Bay, just down the street from Boulder Bay Park and the lake. Just a 15 or 20 minute walk to Big Bear central district, restaurants and activities. Our cabin had a very comfortable bed, cute accommodating kitchen, and a modernized bathroom with excellent hot water and rainfall shower head. The owners were very kind to us on booking, as they were new to the online system, and Hipcamp accidentally double booked, but the owners made room for us on an upgraded cabin at no cost. This made our 3 nights in Big Bear special for me and my daughter. Thank you Three Pines Cabins!

We booked the Little Blue Cabin as a last minute getaway and didn’t realize it would be snowing there, which turned out to be the best surprise! The entire town of Green Valley Lake was so pretty with fresh snow and the cabin kept us so cozy despite being low 30s outside. Also, the host was absolutely amazing - he messaged me with snow updates and chain requirements to make sure we were equipped to make the drive out there. The cabin had everything we needed and more. It was an absolutely wonderful stay, and I’m so glad our dog got to experience snow!

Weekend Trip to SB Mountain Cabin Rentals

Angel's Nest is a gem - especially at the price! It's a beautiful mountain cabin that has family entertainment in mind. We played shuffleboard all afternoon and switched it up with the arcade machine and basketball; the kids had a blast! Really lovely kitchen, bedrooms and living areas as well! Great for a family mountain getaway. Only warning is: there are lots of stairs and a very steep driveway. Keep that in mind when if that's an issue for you. Martin was also very responsive and hospitable! We will definitely be back!

"What an amazing house! Our family had so much fun, relaxing in this beautiful home so close to Green Valley Lake. 1 night at Bowen Ranch Deep Creek Hot Springs

My partner and I have camped here twice now and we love it, hospitable staff, open area for camping with a table and bonfire area as well. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises and lighting around the area. They just added glamping areas to rent with other amenities like shower, pool table and more! We will definitely be returning in the near future!

7 nights at SB Mountain Cabin Rentals

Great place, peaceful, beautiful, well maintained, and clean none toxic cookware! Haha I know that’s a funny thing to be excited about but as a cook I love stainless steel and all were stainless steel, also master bed and pillows very comfortable, Tempur-Pedic I believe. Lots of stairs, so just be aware we brought our elder dog and was a little tricky for him to navigate; but other than that, host replied quickly to all questions and highly recommended!

the Glamping option had literally everything we needed, even portable solar lights that we were able to use while walking after dark. it was nice returning to a lit camp site as well. The Hot springs themselves were amazing, and right next a colder swim spot to cool off. Jess gave such clear directions for us, even though I had watched YouTube videos before, it was easy to visualize when she pointed out landmarks. We camped on a weekend and were lucky to get to enjoy the rec room tent at night.

Weekend Trip to The Nook

Thank you guys so much for an excellent birthday weekend. Such great hosts greeted us the evening of our arrival and even put a happy birthday flag out with very short notice . Cabin is secluded with only the sounds of nature which was exactly what we were looking for. Still close enough to town to not be inconvenient. Definitely will be coming back.

A spacious site and beautiful scenery. The hosts are very nice and the onsite fire wood was great to have. Clean bathrooms and great showers! My friends and I had a great experience, and we will be booking again next September.
