Yes, you can use a propane camp stove or cook at our common area bbq in front of the barn where we light a real wood fire for campers to socialize with us, other campers and visit our speakeasy. Yes, we provide propane for the propane fire pits. Yes, your dog can run off-leash. Yes, each site has a picnic table, umbrella, propane fire pit. Most sites have a hammock and hammock stand. Please pack your trash out there is a dumpster at the front gate entrance/exit for your trash. Please close your umbrella when your not at the site, especially when it's windy. We can accommodate tent campers or car campers. Each campsite fits 4-6 people. The price is $40/per person. Kids under 12 are free. Most campsites are accessible by car and all campsites are accessible by foot. PLEASE NOTE, we do not have a traditional check in procedure. Campsites are first come first serve. Expect a "self-check in process" most of the time. However, there are sometimes people working onsite that you may run into, that are happy to help and lead you in the right direction. We named our property the Twisted Branch after one of the big oak trees that sits on the site where you will camp with us! It's on a hilltop with amazing views in nearly all directions. The campsite faces South/West so sunsets are fantastic. We use no chemicals on the soil or annual grasses. It is very quiet and the night sky is always stunning. Owls hoot at night and Redtail Hawks hunt for ground squirrels during the day. We have alot of Acorn woodpeckers living in the oak trees, the ones with the bright red head feathers. April through June we see bright yellow Orioles. At night you will hear hundreds of little frogs in the nearby ponds, depending on the season. We are located in the heart of Wine Country and there are plenty of activities around us and in town.

Montano de Oro is only 15 minutes away with rocky ocean cliff trails that lead down to the coastline. We are 5 minutes from the beginning of the Edna Valley winery trail with 30 wineries or more I’ve lost count. Tasting and relaxing in great atmospheres. Our favorites are Biddle Ranch, Talley, Mailene, Chamisal, Bailyanna... but there are so many more. We’re 10 minutes from downtown San Luis Obispo, 10–12 minutes to Avila or Pismo beaches. Morro Bay is 25 minutes. And we’re just 5 minutes off the 101 for easy access to traveling. The Central Coast has almost everything for fun, adventure and food. Surfing, biking, hiking, ocean kayaking, paddle boarding, golf, wine and beer culture, ranch lands, shopping and restaurants and we’re close to it all.

The ranch has enormous views, peaceful quiet grounds, therapy assiting animals to snuggle with and of course close proximity to the local vineyard faire. We provide a nice level parking pad with firepit ring, big views of the rolling hills and a short walk to the barnyard. Nights are full of sparkling stars and the big milky way and be seen on clear moonless nights. Our animals include; micro mini cows, minature silky fainting goats, mini horses, mini donkey, mini Kunekune pigs, mini roosters, horses and a pack of the friendliest dogs you'll ever meet. We have partnered with Forever Protected Equine, a non- profit to support the retired working horses on to our pastures wear they can live a natural equine life with friends. This is a critical time for horses well being and safety. Instead of an uncertain future or slaughter they come here to be gently cared for until their sunset day.

The Range was perfect, with beautiful views and a really peaceful feel. It was great meeting their dog Ria and saying hi to the farm animals. My dogs were so happy to have space to run around and just be dogs. Karina was very accommodating and easy to talk to, which made everything even better. It was pretty windy during my stay, but overall a really nice experience and a place I’d happily return to!

Darin was the most welcoming and genuinely great host I’ve ever had the pleasure to deal with on HipCamp. Their property is beautiful and it was exciting seeing all of the farm animals, especially for my two year old. The fresh chicken and duck eggs were better than you could buy anywhere and the ribeye steak that Darin was so generous to grill and share with the rest of the guests was to die for. I will never forget this experience and sure to come back next spring.

5 nights at Hazel Homestead- Central Coast Farm

This is the ideal location for a private (only 2 sites!), relaxing, and comfortable retreat on the beautiful central coast. The homestead atmosphere is thoroughly charming, and the presence of animals has a tangible "de-stressing" effect. Be sure to buy their delicious farm fresh eggs. Despite its rural "feel" it is close to everything you might need. Lots to see and do within a 45 minute radius, from Solvang to Montana de Oro. The sites are clean and well-maintained, and the hosts have a talent for hospitality. Cesar's "happy hour" made for a memorable conclusion to a long travel day. He makes a great "old fashioned", too.

Amazing hosts! Chris went out of his way to bring me wood and kindling for a fire, gave me a tour of the ranch where I got to meet the animals, and was very responsive via text when I had questions. The site was great and had everything you would need (picnic table, fire pit with poker, good trees to set up a hammock). The view from the top of the property is unbelievable during the day and at sunset!

This was my first-ever camping trip, and this campsite was absolutely wonderful! It offered truly spectacular views, featuring a unique panorama of both distant San Luis Obispo lights and surrounding mountains. The site felt private and secluded, providing a peaceful escape. For convenience, access to both water and clean toilet facilities was excellent. This is a genuinely nice and comfortable campsite that I highly recommend, especially for a memorable first-time experience.

I LOVED this site! My biggest regret about this camp was that I didn't get to stay longer! Sophia, Rob, Mike, and the whole crew were super welcoming - they took the time to show me around and made sure my campsite was good to go. Highly recommend snagging the redwood site if you can AND DEF get a mineral bath! I'd gone for a solid hike earlier in the day and it was so delightful to soak in some hot mineral water (my skin was so smooth) as well as some incredible star-gazing. This felt like a time machine back to 1970s California (wooden bridges with lights, outdoor flush toilets?! no outhouses here) in the BEST way possible. I can't wait to go back. Bonus points to Curty for the canine welcome - what a sweetie.

Jac's place has become our favorite Central Coast base camp. The site has fantastic views, generous amenities, and all the peace and quiet you could want. And it's conveniently close to charming Paso Robles, attractions such as Sensorio, and the local wine trail.

My friends and I stayed at the Range and absolutely loved it! The site was very spacious and had great views. We enjoyed seeing all the animals, and we even bought some honey made by Karina and Chris. I’d definitely stay here again!
