Ratchford Buffalo Farms is nestled in the heart of the Ozarks on roughly 500 acres. Where our Buffalo, Cattle and other animals graze in the meadows and fields and roam the hills and hollows and drink from 11 free flowing springs. My family has lived in these parts for over 150 years ever since my great grandfather settled here from Georgia. This land has been used for may things. From raising cotton, corn, hogs, cattle and at one time my family was one of the largest strawberry producers in the state and always raised a large vegetable garden. I can still remember my daddy plowing this ground with a big black team of mules. For the past 20 years we have raised Buffalo. But the commitment has always been the same. Taking the time to help your neighbor, even if he does not ask. Keeping your word, a man is only as good as his word . Treating people fairly and with respect, if you can not respect others you can not respect yourself. And for each generation to leave the land in better shape than when you started farming it.

Welcome to Grassy Road Cabins & Camping, a peaceful 23-acre getaway in the heart of the Ozarks. Our property blends rolling pasture, patches of forest, and a beautiful recreational fishing pond—perfect for morning coffee, quiet walks, and unforgettable sunsets. We’re ideally located between two popular Buffalo National River access points, South Maumee and Spring Creek, giving you fast, easy access to some of the best floating and hiking in Arkansas. Choose from three cozy tiny-house cabins, 3 electric tent sites, 3 primitive tent sites, and 9 full-hookup RV sites with 20/30/50 amp, water, and sewer. Two of our RV sites are big-rig friendly pull-throughs ideal for Class A motorhomes. All guests have access to our clean two-unit bathhouse with hot showers, treehouse play area, trails, fishing pond, and our new hillside group fire pit for evening gatherings under dark, starry skies. Check-in is simple and self-guided, making arrivals easy at any time. Firewood is available for purchase, and kayaks and life jackets may be borrowed—just message us first and return them in good condition. We encourage guests to explore the property’s trails, enjoy catch-and-release fishing, or head to the river for paddling and swimming. The Buffalo River Trail crosses South Maumee Road and leads to stunning bluffs and seasonal waterfalls. With an Arkansas fishing license, you can fish both on-site and in the Buffalo. Nearby towns Marshall and Leslie offer great local restaurants like Skylark Café and Red River Café. Blanchard Springs Caverns, only 30 miles away, makes for an incredible day trip. Dog Policy: We are dog friendly for RVs and cabins, but dogs must remain leashed and owners must clean up after them. Please note that tent campers should only bring experienced outdoor dogs—many indoor-only pets bark all night due to wildlife sounds, which disturbs the entire campground. Whether you’re here to float the river, hike the Ozarks, relax with family, or simply enjoy a quiet night around the fire, Grassy Road Cabins & Camping is your perfect basecamp for adventure.

Wildlife abounds on this property, including fox, black bear, deer, chipmunks, groundhogs, bobcat, and tons more. Forage hikes, where you learn about the immense variety of edible plants, guided photo op hikes, cut and make your own walking stick (and make it your own by wood burning, adding leather and feathers), are just a few of the options we have daily to add to your stay. Close to the Little Buffalo River and the quaint little town of Jasper, where you can shop, eat at the famous Ozark Cafe, or rent a kayak. Get cozy in this rustic space. With a woodburning hot tub, this is a perfect spot to rest and recover after a day of hiking, canoeing, climbing. Kitchen, shower, composting toilet, deck, comfy linens and firepits bring you back to yourself! This tiny home is on 4 acres that is close to town but secluded by woods and nature. The house utilizes a composting toilet and greywater systems, emphasizing sustainability. We designed this as a place to unplug, so don't have WiFi, a microwave or a TV. The water is set to HOT, and we have it set there because the hot water heater is a travel trailer size, so it only puts out a small amount of hot water. Please don't burn your hands washing them! Also feel free to turn it down if you need to, it is right under the kitchen sink. We recommend expecting a quick shower or turning the water off and on to soak your hair if you need to wash it and then lathering up. If the house is smelling bad in the bathroom, that is not normal and we will come and fix it.

Enchanted Ozark Fairytale Camp is far more than your ordinary campground! Hipcamp’s Best in State 2025 🙂 This 104-acre Ozark Mountain wonderland’s biggest draw would be hard to pin down. We are offering off-the-beaten-path serenity, with huge areas for each rental space, and unmatched hospitality. Sip morning coffee while you lose your cares in the vast mountain views, enjoy the pristine natural beauty that surrounds you in the deer meadow. Hike trails that meander to the seasonal creeks and waterfalls, past ancient walnut and hickory trees, to rest on large rock formations thick with moss, or take the high trails to the top of our bluff where views and natural oddities reward you at every bend, or just lay in the hammocks by the frog pond with a good book. Wildlife abounds on this property, including fox, black bear, deer, chipmunks, groundhogs, bobcat, and tons more. We offer fantastic add-ons like creation stations where tables of art supplies can be laid out for either self-initiated projects or sample projects with instruction by hostess, Mizzy (a working artist with pieces in every continent, save Antarctica). One-of-a-kind stays include a fully off-grid container tiny house, boondock RV space, 2 themed RVs (one a cool Silk Road inspired and the other a romantic vibe), the grooviest authentic hippy van glamper, plus super large tent spaces. We may be farther off the beaten track than those roadside places, but we are so very worth it. Come be Enchanted.

Our 3 acres are on the road leading to Buffalo Point river access on the Buffalo National River. The property has history - you can see remnants of the Lynch in-ground waterslide locals enjoyed in the 70s winding down our ridge. The Baker Lodge was built on the slide entrance, with our sleeping cabins overlooking both the trees down the ridge and the slide. Our acreage adjoins the Buffalo National River Park boundaries and you can explore around the ridge. Buffalo Point is literally at the end of our street. You can hike an amazing trail called Indian Rockhouse - it's interesting and fun every season. The land was purchased in 1911 by the local carpenter and farmer 👩‍🌾 David Martin. Rumor has it he built the original house and the barn which was become known to locals as a land mark “The Big Red Barn." Mr. Martin is said to have also built most all the barns in the area, including one such barn which sits on property across the highway, he built while he had a broken leg!! This amazing old barn can be seen from Blessed Valley. Snowball Branch starts less than a mile up stream and runs across the North side of the property..
