We (Tim and Victoria) moved out to our place in the desert in February 2008 along with our many plants. We have continued to grow our little farm of 6 acres to what it is today, which includes an orchard with about 50 fruit and nut trees and enclosed garden/greenhouse structures with veggies and herbs that are protected from wildlife and the elements. We have a seasonally heated pool with 3/4 wraparound deck and amazing views of the Tucson Mountains. We have a basketball court, a ping pong table, cornhole court as well for recreation. Our Beach site has a domed 'chill zone' with heaters in the winter, comfortable chairs for relaxation and a great spot to let your dog hang out unleashed. Our Prickly Pear site has a pull through for campers and RVs. Our RV site has 30 amp electric and black water dump station.
All of our sites are fenced in, and have many, many cool amenities such as fire pits, sinks with fresh, pure water, table with 4 chairs, gas grills and lounge chairs/porch swing.

What to expect:
We are in a rural neighborhood where most parcels are 1-3 acres, we have seven acres. It's quiet around here but along with the natural sounds of the desert like yipping coyotes, and woodpeckers pecking, you may hear a horse, dog, or chicken. While we are on the outskirts of Tucson, we are not completely remote.
We have carved our sites out of the natural layout of the desert. There are many kinds of cactus in our area in addition to the magnificent Saguaro, and uneven areas when walking. We keep it as natural as possible.
We have a small "Mercantile" on property. This is our office, but we also have items you may have forgotten, and souvenirs made by local artists. Also available is firewood, and ice is for sale for your convenience. We have a small Laundry Shack (two washers, two dryers) 2.00 wash/2.00 dry. You'll need cash for these things, we do not take any other form of payment at this time.
Camp Saguaro is tobacco-free.

My name is Joel, and I turned my off-grid property into a park. It’s located right across the street from a 3,000 acre swath of Arizona recreational state land. AZ state land is like a state park, but with zero amenities. So, I started building amenities on my property.
We now have trash service, compost toilets, running hot water, a shower building, a furnished campsite, a mini barndominium, and everything runs on solar power.
We also get Amazon deliveries.
The park is only 20 miles from the Tucson city limits, but when you get out here you’ll feel like you’re a million miles away. Your ears will ring for the first half hour while adjusting to the quiet.
It’s a great place to read a book, unwind, and take some time off from the mouse marathon of daily urban life.
It’s also a great place to bring your ATV, dirt bike, or favorite pew-pews to go play Mad Max Beyond Thunderchicken out in the state land.
There’s a little something for everybody if you know what I mean.
Night time is very dark out here. There are no street lights because Kitt Peak National Observatory is just over yonder. You can see it from the property.
Most nights the Milky Way is clear and visible in the sky. I have pathway lights, and low lumen lighting around the park, but a flashlight is still helpful for getting around at night.
Next door is a bird sanctuary with 2 macaws (Blue Bird and Max), and halfway up the mountain (Keystone Peak) is an abandoned fluorite mine you can go explore.
We are in the foothills of the Sierrita Mountains, at an elevation of 3,200 ft. That’s 1,000 ft higher than Tucson, and 2,000 ft higher than Phoenix. The plant life is very lush and green for the desert, and the wildlife is plentiful.

We (Tim and Victoria) moved out to our place in the desert in February 2008 along with our many plants. We have continued to grow our little farm of 6 acres to what it is today, which includes an orchard with about 50 fruit and nut trees and enclosed garden/greenhouse structures with veggies and herbs that are protected from wildlife and the elements. We have a seasonally heated pool with 3/4 wraparound deck and amazing views of the Tucson Mountains. We have a basketball court, a ping pong table, cornhole court as well for recreation. Our Beach site has a domed 'chill zone' with heaters in the winter, comfortable chairs for relaxation and a great spot to let your dog hang out unleashed. Our Prickly Pear site has a pull through for campers and RVs. Our RV site has 30 amp electric and black water dump station.
All of our sites are fenced in, and have many, many cool amenities such as fire pits, sinks with fresh, pure water, table with 4 chairs, gas grills and lounge chairs/porch swing.

What to expect:
We are in a rural neighborhood where most parcels are 1-3 acres, we have seven acres. It's quiet around here but along with the natural sounds of the desert like yipping coyotes, and woodpeckers pecking, you may hear a horse, dog, or chicken. While we are on the outskirts of Tucson, we are not completely remote.
We have carved our sites out of the natural layout of the desert. There are many kinds of cactus in our area in addition to the magnificent Saguaro, and uneven areas when walking. We keep it as natural as possible.
We have a small "Mercantile" on property. This is our office, but we also have items you may have forgotten, and souvenirs made by local artists. Also available is firewood, and ice is for sale for your convenience. We have a small Laundry Shack (two washers, two dryers) 2.00 wash/2.00 dry. You'll need cash for these things, we do not take any other form of payment at this time.
Camp Saguaro is tobacco-free.

My name is Joel, and I turned my off-grid property into a park. It’s located right across the street from a 3,000 acre swath of Arizona recreational state land. AZ state land is like a state park, but with zero amenities. So, I started building amenities on my property.
We now have trash service, compost toilets, running hot water, a shower building, a furnished campsite, a mini barndominium, and everything runs on solar power.
We also get Amazon deliveries.
The park is only 20 miles from the Tucson city limits, but when you get out here you’ll feel like you’re a million miles away. Your ears will ring for the first half hour while adjusting to the quiet.
It’s a great place to read a book, unwind, and take some time off from the mouse marathon of daily urban life.
It’s also a great place to bring your ATV, dirt bike, or favorite pew-pews to go play Mad Max Beyond Thunderchicken out in the state land.
There’s a little something for everybody if you know what I mean.
Night time is very dark out here. There are no street lights because Kitt Peak National Observatory is just over yonder. You can see it from the property.
Most nights the Milky Way is clear and visible in the sky. I have pathway lights, and low lumen lighting around the park, but a flashlight is still helpful for getting around at night.
Next door is a bird sanctuary with 2 macaws (Blue Bird and Max), and halfway up the mountain (Keystone Peak) is an abandoned fluorite mine you can go explore.
We are in the foothills of the Sierrita Mountains, at an elevation of 3,200 ft. That’s 1,000 ft higher than Tucson, and 2,000 ft higher than Phoenix. The plant life is very lush and green for the desert, and the wildlife is plentiful.

This is a super cool spot just outside of Tucson. A very creative and fun set up. Everything is organized, artistically put together, great showers and two toilets with outdoor sinks. Very clean and orderly. Highly recommend and would love to come back.

We loved camping at Camp Saguaro. We had planned to tent camp in mid March but the unseasonable heat wave caught everyone by surprise and daytime high temperatures were over 100 degrees. We were able to change reservation to stay at the Adobe cottage and were amazed at how well the thick adobe walls kept temperatures comfortable. So we were able to thoroughly enjoy our 2 night stay. The bathrooms were excellent, clean, comfortable with a very nice hot shower. We plan to definately stay again, when the weather will allow us to better enjoy the beauty of the Tucson area natural wonders.

Camp Saguaro was beautiful, clean, quite, and peaceful. It was a great place to watch the sunset, gaze at the stars, and watch sunrise. The camp is meticulously maintained. We pulled in and were treated by the staff. The store was closed and we asked about some place we could get ice - the host reopened the store and sold us a bag of ice. Very , very nice

We loved camping here…the owners were wonderful and the campground was clean and so welcoming and truly had so much there!!! We also had the most lovely camp hosts ever the were incredibly warm and made our trip even better!!! The location is beautiful and so close to the west side of Saguaro National Park…the sunsets here especially by the big hog fire pit were like a painting they were so stunning!!
My kids really enjoyed playing all over the campground but especially the magic mushroom…we put our tent next to it and they used it as a play house and it was definitely a fun little addition to our trip! My parents stayed in the adobe next to us and put their air mattress up! It was very nice to have the two spaces right next to each other and the adobe cabin was great as well especially the outside table and “kitchen prep” area (I’m calling it)
We will definitely be back here to camp in the future!!

A very pleasant, chill, and well-thought out place to rest. It feels like camping in a small garden, beautiful plants and birds. The hosts are so accommodating, wuth everything you could need, delightfully presented. It just felt friendly.
I brought my Transit campervan, although the sites were ample, at 20' it was about the maximum length to navigate through the campground, as the hosts have noted.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Camp Saguaro! We stayed here a couple years back and it's wonderful to see all the changes and updates they've made since we were last here. We love the close location to the national park and the convenient amenities such as hot showers and a phone charging station. The Mercantile was fun and so useful to have close by! We saw tons of hummingbirds, quail, morning doves, and lizards as well. We even heard an owl one evening! The sunsets amongst the Saguaros were breathtaking at camp and the starry night sky was absolutely incredible. We are so grateful to our camp hosts for going above and beyond, helping to provide us with an experience we'll never forget. We hope to return again!

We absolutely LOVED this little spot!!! Very nice and friendly. Adorable clubhouse! We rolled in after dark and they had food, a movie playing on a big screen, felt like we were at the drive in! Hot coffee in the morning. It was all absolutely wonderful. Easy to find. Best spot we’ve stopped so far!

We had a wonderful stay at Camp Saguaro. We camped at Javelina Hollow. The setting is peaceful and beautiful, surrounded by saguaros and desert wildlife. Everything was very clean and thoughtfully maintained, and the atmosphere felt calm and welcoming.
One of our favorite little touches was the fresh grapefruits placed at the washing station—they were some of the most delicious we’ve ever had and such a thoughtful gesture.
The stars at night were incredible, and it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the desert. We would definitely stay here again.

We had such a wonderful three days at the aptly-named Sanctuary. The site for our small teardrop trailer was wonderful, and we appreciated the plug adapters available for shore power (most places with electric hookups assume large RVs and we’re never able to plug in). The common areas were orderly and well-appointed. The outdoor shower is fantastically refreshing, and the bathroom was always fresh and clean. The hosts were fabulous! Welcoming and informative, and so very kind. We walked multiple times/day to see the birds at the Paton Center—loved the proximity and the walk there. My only complaint is that we had to leave :)
