A Few Considerations Before Booking:
Getting Here: Your journey begins with a scenic drive, we live 5-10 minutes down a dirt road. It’s been graded in the last few months, so standard cars like a Civic or Prius will do just fine. That said, this route isn’t ideal for very low-clearance vehicles, those uneasy about dirt roads, or trailers/RVs over 30 ft.
Off-Grid Adventure: Since we're living that sustainable off-grid dream, we work with what we call a composting "outhouse" rather than a traditional septic system. If this rustic charm doesn’t sit well with you, we might not be the ideal fit.
Pet & Wildlife Lovers: We embrace friendly furry companions! Just bear in mind, the desert is home to critters galore—everything from coyotes to bobcats. Keep a watchful eye on your pets and please make sure you clean up after your pets.
Adult-Only Zone: We cater to an 18+ crowd—so it's a peaceful haven sans kids.

Then my place is for you! 18 and over. NO PIT BULLS. Good well behaved dogs allowed on leash welcome. If you want to bring a properly raised young person you can make your case to me and I will consider.
I offer 2 full hook-up spaces, one space is covered. Power is 50 AMPS! An RV must be under 12' to fit under the covered space.
I offer 4 dry camping options. You can book the Tent Cabana-The Shady Rest- listing or you can dry camp by booking through my Tent and Vehicle Camping listing. There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. An extra vehicle is OK as long as it's part of your one campsite. 2 groups with 2 camp vehicles is 2 campsites.
I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. You can set up your bed or rent a full size bed which I will set up for you.
This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff.
I have WiFi and great cell service here. Please arrive by 8pm unless arrangements are made in advance. I meet with you and show you around.
I will greet you and show you around. I close my gates at dark. Once you are here you may come and go as you please.
I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10.
Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a breakfast room with clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available for your use. Lots of local birds visit daily. You are welcome to visit and pet my horses and donkeys!

There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. An extra vehicle is OK as long as it's part of your one campsite. 2 groups with 2 camp vehicles is 2 campsites.
I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. You can set up your bed or rent a full size bed which I will set up for you.
This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff.
I have WiFi and great cell service here. Please arrive by 8pm unless arrangements are made in advance. I meet with you and show you around.
I will greet you and show you around. I close my gates at dark. Once you are here you may come and go as you please.
I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10.
Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a breakfast room with clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available for your use. Lots of local birds visit daily. You are welcome to visit and pet my horses and donkeys!

We purchased our 20 acre homestead 16 years ago. The buildings were unlivable and land was overgrazed , but the windmill and sweet water well gave promise. We have been Restoring the land, allowing its native habitat to thrive. We now have a Year round vegetable garden, honeybees, orchard and grape vines. The adobe home and outbuildings and Sandhill (Crane) casita are restored with all recycle materials from the property. Close your eyes and imagine the most serene desert sunset/sunrise, then add in the songs of 100 birds, a trail system right on the property for meandering about, and gracious hosts that want you to have the best experience possible ... that's what it's like staying at Harry and Barbara's place.
We left feeling revitalized and certain we'd be back someday. Cannot recommend it enough.

We had such a wonderful three days at the aptly-named Sanctuary. The site for our small teardrop trailer was wonderful, and we appreciated the plug adapters available for shore power (most places with electric hookups assume large RVs and we’re never able to plug in). The common areas were orderly and well-appointed. The outdoor shower is fantastically refreshing, and the bathroom was always fresh and clean. The hosts were fabulous! Welcoming and informative, and so very kind. We walked multiple times/day to see the birds at the Paton Center—loved the proximity and the walk there. My only complaint is that we had to leave :)

Weekend Trip to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch
We had a wonderful time staying in the pool house. There was a little heater that helped keep us toasty in the night and the the weather was glorious when the sun was out. The garage/kitchen bathroom area was nice to be able to use a fridge and wash hands.
Karla has a great setup and I enjoyed reading about her work and seeing her art and wood projects. So cool! We had some great conversations with the folks who were also staying around a bonfire. The outside was so nice that was so inviting to hang around and just be.
