We offer Communal Spaces with restroom, grill, table, other seating with larger fire-pit. Feel free to visit our horses, chickens or hike our beautiful trails right from the property.
Enjoy the horses, the stars at night and our neighboring coyotes sing if you are lucky.
Our home is close by, the little white farmhouse on the hill.

Hiking and horseback riding trails lead directly from the property into Spur Cross Conservation Area—or take a short 10-minute drive to a main trailhead. Black Mountain Hiking Trail is also nearby and offers panoramic views of the valley. You can even ride your horse into town and tie up at the local cowboy bars!

• The landscape varies with the season—there won’t be green grass in the summer
• Please keep pets away from cactus—they bite!
• We’re located in a desert neighborhood, so please respect the nearby homes. My house and neighbors house will be in view from your campsite.
• A horse corral (50 ft round pen) is available to rent—message me if interested!

Whether you’re looking to stay “put” or your plans include adventuring during the day and hitting the bars at night, you’ll be centrally located.
We’re surrounded by horse properties, so it’s not unusual to see riders out. In fact, if you’re lucky, you might even spot one going through the Starbucks drive-through! We’re within a 5-minute drive of both Dove Valley and Rancho Mañana golf courses, quite a few places to rent ATVs, and amazing hikes ranging from short and easy to climbing Black Mountain—which can be seen from just about anywhere on our property—and everything in between. Oh, and did I mention the temperatures are 5–8 degrees cooler than Phoenix?

Margarita Ranch is such a unique and beautiful place to stay! It was the perfect introduction to the Phoenix area for us. So many huge, beautiful saguaros, super dark at night to see the sky lit up with stars, and the friendliest pigs, horses, and donkeys to pet. Macy was a super communicative and hospitable host. We even found a wonderful hike to do after we checked out that was an under 15 minute drive from the site— Jewel of the Creek Preserve. We had such a great time.

Tent camping right next to emus, where I’ll recommend! Enjoyed a two day stay here. People were quiet and kind, spaces are all nicely dispersed, and the location was great for us to avoid the hustle and bustle but enjoy a weekend exploring all around Phoenix.
If you can, recommend bringing your own campfire ring. Not all spots have fire pits.
Water spigots all over the campground, and that was great as well!

I enjoyed my two nights here and was able to get my 25' travel trailer in and out with out issue. Shawn and the family were friendly but mainly stayed towards towards the front of the lot (in the house) and gave me plenty of privacy in the back. Their dog seemed sweet but they kept her inside so she didn't interact with my sometimes excitable pair who invaded her space. Overall I'd recommend and would stay here again when passing through Phoenix.

Unfortunately, GPS led us miles off course which prevented us from reaching the resort before sundown. We were not able to reach staff after hours.
That being said, once we made it we were warmly greeted, given a rundown of information and personally escorted to our beautiful pull-through RV site. The amenities are top-notch, especially the heated pool, The staff are very accommodating.
(TIP) If GPS leads you to a random spot in the middle of the desert, it is south of the I10.

This is a great Hipcamp! First, the spot is great. You have a very large, private environment behind their house. Wendy has set up a lovely seating area, picnic area, and recreation area. You are near their barn, there is a large grassy area and a nice tree for shade. Wendy sent very clear instructions on YouTube that show how to access the property. While to have access to Phoenix and Scottsdale, you are in a quiet, more rural environment (although there is development going on all around them). The birds in the morning were delightfull! I would highly recommend for a short or long term stay in the area.
