We loved staying at Paula’s and look forward to another stay. She is a very gracious host and both of her sites are well maintained and private. The star gazing is amazing! We totally disagree with any negative reviews and can’t wait to return!

Group trip
Came to Shiloh Ranch with four friends on a road trip this past week and it was by far our best stop.
Sandee offered us kindness and hospitality, helped us with directions to our next destination, and informed us about the nature around us.
The casita itself was well stocked with plenty of blankets, cooking supplies, and seasonings
The property was stunning and we had a blast looking at the night sky and rummaging around looking for petrified wood
I could not recommend this place enough.

Great location, right off the highway. My dog and I had the whole place to ourselves and loved walking the perimeter of the property. Beautiful views and a clean toilet to boot!

Even in December, I was surprised we were the only ones here. This site is the perfect spot to stay after a day at Petrified Forest National Park. Just a few minutes from the northern entrance. Gave us a night off from setting up the tent, a bit more warmth, and some creature comforts. There are two bunk beds, a full table with four chairs for dining, lights, a radio, even some reading and lots of thoughtful information about the park and other useful things nearby. This place was PITCH BLACK after sunset. I stood outside for some time watching shooting stars. Definitely bring a flashlight as it's a bit of a walk in the dark to the outhouse.

First of all Sandee was lovely and made us feel so very welcome.
Situated on a property that has a main house and multiple guesthouses, my family stayed in the smaller guesthouse. All amenities available meant all our needs were met. The house had plenty of room for us. Our little dog was equally welcome. The ranch was far removed from noise and nonsense, but only 20 minutes from the Petrified Forest south entrance. A beautiful setting!

We enjoyed our stay at Shawn’s campsite. It was great since we got in really late and had to set up as the sun was setting but finding it was easy with the instructions we got. The only thing I would say is make sure your vehicle can do a little off road in case of rain. Fortunately we were in a four wheel drive truck and easily got in and out.

Gravel road to get there. 2.8 miles of it. Once there it was a wide open space. I ordered firewood. So glad I did. We had a guitar jam by the fire that was epic. Really felt the backroad of America vibe. We stayed 2 nights. 🎈

Was a great quiet spot to sleep at on my way to the Grand Canyon, I arrived later in the evening and the instructions got me to my spot despite it already being dark out. I will use this spot again and recommend it to my friends and family.

Beautiful views, peaceful, felt remote. A little ragged navigating the dirt roads in after dark; DEFINATELY recommend DAYLIGHT for this! Communication with Paula was easy, and everything was exactly "as advertised."
And the stars! Even with the moon, beautiful!

Weekend Trip to Petrified Forest
It was awesome! Know what you are getting into though. This is bare bones, don't expect luxury amenities. What you're getting is some distance between you and the city. And a great view of the stars. This is all about the nighttime sky.
The tent is WELL protected from the wind and cold. Tent comes with a few items like a lamp, a space heater, book with local information. A bench outside, a table and two chair inside the tent. Its lovely.

This place was incredible! We loved every second spent on the property. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, even though the interstate is 5 miles away. Paula provided more than enough firewood, and a porta-potty within walking distance of the site. She stopped by in the morning to check on us, but aside from that, never saw another human. It was incredibly relaxing. Just a quiet night under the stars.
The last portion of the trip is a bumpy dirt road, as others have mentioned, but I had my truck fully loaded with equipment, and never felt the need to move out of 2WD. You won’t need a 4x4 to get to the property. You WILL however want some daylight to make your way to camp, obviously.

The spot was perfect for what it was. It was camping with walls and beds! We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit and the relaxing, pretty setting. We all got a good night sleep. We will definitely stay there again if we head up that way.

My sister and I absolutely loved this camp site. You felt like you were in the middle of no where right in the national park. Star gazing was perfect and the view was beautiful. It rained that day and we probably would not have made it without all wheel drive. I can’t imagine how bad the road gets with lots of rain so be aware of the weather. Thank you for sharing your land with us.

Sandee was so helpful and kind. She called me even though we got in super late to explain where everything is. The space was clean and well oragnized- kitchen stocked with supplies and utensils if your lacking. We will 100% be coming back !
