A ranch of nearly 100,000 acres jointly owned by Marion Clark and Croydon Cooley a U.S. army scout. According to legend, sometime around 1876, the partners decided that there was not enough room for both of them and one of them should leave. They decided to settle this issue over a game of "Seven Up" (with the winner taking the ranch and the loser leaving.) After the game seemed to have no winner in sight the game reached it's climax when Clark said, "If you can show low, you win." At this point Cooley turned up the deuce of clubs, and declared "Show Low" it is! Show Low is a city in Navajo County, Arizona among the lush green ponderosa pine forestland and along Arizona's Mogollon Rim at an elevation of 6,345 feet. Show Low is now the largest city in the White Mountains of northeastern Arizona. Show Low is also the business hub and marketing center of the area. Love Red Lodge

3 sites · RVs, Tents42 acres · Winslow West, Navajo
This property has been a dream come true! It's a 42.22 acre property in the high desert of Navajo County, AZ. It is currently the home to my tiny house project (not currently available to rent, but hopefully it will be soon!) and eventually it'll be home to a small vineyard. It is peaceful, calm, and has beautiful views all around. The terrain is rolling grassland with junipers and nearby canyons. Learn more about this land:This is NOT a glamping experience. This is a primitive, remote, off-grid, starry night experience.Camp out on my beautiful, open ranch land with wide views including the San Francisco Peaks to the west. The stars are beautiful and most nights you can see at least 1 planet. The space is rolling grassland with junipers throughout. A wash runs through my property, with slab rocks and lots of wildlife - see jackrabbits, deer, coyotes, and even the extremely endangered Mexican Grey Wolf. Access a side canyon of Chevelon Canyon by taking about a 1/2 mile walk from the property (directions can be provided!) to get some exercise in and explore a beautiful Arizona canyon. Native American artifacts have been known to be found in the area - if you find any on the property please admire them and leave them in place :).Select your tent spot anywhere on the property. You have 42 acres to choose from! There are spots where we've had several large tents set up at once just west of the tiny house, down the hill from the stone fire ring on the property. There are also several more spots up hill and between junipers - explore and find your spot! RVs would be best to part in the circular driveway near the tiny house. There aren't other formal roads on the property at this time. There is a tiny house on the property as well as several in-progress art pieces. See the pictures for more details! The tiny house is not currently available for rent, but I expect that down the line I might be able to make it available for Hipcampers. The property is part of Chevelon Canyon Ranch, a ranch with privately owned 40+ acre parcels. There is a ramada and community well, and the dirt roads are maintained by the association. During the drier times of the year the property is accessible by cars, but during rainy seasons and other times of rough weather it's best to access with a higher clearance vehicle. FWD is not usually necessary. The ranch is located about an hour north of Heber, AZ, 3.5 hours from Phoenix.Cell signal is very limited throughout the ranch. My property is positioned with some of the best reception in the ranch, so if you're on Verizon you will likely have a weak to moderate signal most of your stay. Most other carriers (particularly TMobile and Sprint) will have little to no signal after leaving the pavement. Enjoy the disconnected time!
