Welcome to CAMP 222, a private campground nestled on approximately 1 acre of land adjacent to Lewis Smith Lake in Cullman, AL. Experience the tranquility of lake life as you enjoy boating adventures accessed via our private boat ramp. While there may be some road noise from County Road 222, especially during daytime hours, it typically tapers off in the evening and nighttime. Enjoy stunning views of the 4th of July fireworks from Smith Lake Park, as our property provides a prime vantage point. Lewis Smith Lake, managed by Alabama Power, spans 21,000 acres and is the deepest lake in Alabama at 264 ft. The water level varies throughout the year, usually reaching full-pool from April to July before gradually decreasing for the autumn and winter seasons. Please note the rocky shore near the sun deck, which is why jumping or diving from the sun deck is prohibited. The nearby City of Cullman, located approximately 10 miles away, offers abundant shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Additionally, the city hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, including the Strawberry Festival in April, Octoberfest in October, and Christkindlmarkt in November & December.

A beautiful campground! Quiet, off the beaten path, and secure with a coded electric gate. The hosts were superb and left nothing uncertain, undone or unanswered. The four sites are all great with site 4 being pull through. We stayed in site 1. This outing was with our toy hauler and dogbabies and all was perfect. Each campsite has a wooden picnic table, a large outdoor chair, and an outdoor mat. Be certain to use a pressure regulator immediately at the source due to the more than adequate water pressure. Our experience rates a 10/10 score. Thank you to Rodger and Carol. They did it right.

Awesome new campsite! The hosts are lovely. They met us and let us pick wherever we’d like to go, plus goody bags and some wood! The hook ups are great, amazing view from the ridge off to the north east. Clear skies and bright stars. No blinding camp lights which is amazing! Most campsites have huge pillars that blast light into your tents, but this one was really serene. New bathrooms and showers, and only a couple minutes down the street from Cherokee Rock Village for climbing (no power there). Excited to have a good spot to base camp at for long climbing weekends!

We got to meet the hosts this time and they were wonderful and gave us fresh blueberries from their own blueberry bushes. :) we love this spot because are dogs can be (mostly) free to hang out and swim. Rodger’s property was just lovely! It was exactly as described. He was a very responsive and personable host, who clearly wants people to feel comfortable and happy at the site. It’s a small and quaint campsite, if you are looking for something not as big as an RV park or giant state park. The campsites are quite big and spread apart, so you don’t feel like you’re on top of each other. I definitely recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

We really enjoyed staying at JG's Campen Life. J & G came out and met us at the gate with our checkin info. G led us to our site where we could stay hooked up since the site was level. We were only staying overnight as we were passing through the area. They had a lot of amenities on-site, but unfortunately since we were just passing through the area, we couldn't use them. If we're ever back in the area, it would be nice to stay there again! The area was very quiet and the price-affordable. The local Love's RV stop was roughly the same price and would have been much more noisy. Keep up the great work JG's and I wish you only the best
