Heart of the Country is our home and also your own personal twelve acre state park whenever you stay with us!
We are less than 15 minutes from Interstate 10 and from Interstate 65.
I offer a half-dozen campsites, all either on a relatively level paved driveway or grass. Power (20 amp and 30 amp) and water is available. We have two 30 amp campsites, which are first come, first served.
WIFI is available! (please ask for password).
We have a portable toilet (portable-potty) for your use.
This is a Longleaf Pine sanctuary with lots of nature trails.
This is also a hobby farm with livestock (two Donkeys, two Goats and a flock of Chickens). I feed the livestock grain every morning usually between 8 and 9 am, and again hay before dusk. You are always welcome to join me and I'll introduce all of them to you!
My dog, Homer, is our very friendly welcoming ambassador who will enthusiastically great you upon your arrival. I put him up in his kennel each evening around dusk, then lock him in his shed until morning which keeps him from barking during the night.
We also host three AirBnBs, so other guests may be here as well.
Texting via the app is our preferred mode of communication. If you call, please leave a message if I can't answer, and I will call you back.
We are slowly updating the site photos. Use them only to determine your price, for example: A site with 30 amp power and water is $25 per night. A site with 20 amp power and water is $20 per night. A boondocking site (no power) is $15 per night. All sites have access to a porta-potty and water.
Suggested local attraction: Blakeley State Historic Park is four miles away.

A little slice of camping heaven, 41 acres with 800 feet of water frontage on Styx River. YaYa's is a completely primative or boondocking campground and swim area with porta pottie available. I purchased this land several years ago after experiencing the heartbreaking loss of my daughter, JoLisa Marie Roadcap, whom we lovingly called "Little Jo." One of my favorite times of day is around 5:30 a.m., when the sun begins to rise. Step out onto the deck, listen to the birds singing, and watch a new day unfold. You may see dozens of species of birds, including the majestic Bald Eagle, endangered woodpeckers, blue herons, bluebirds, blue jays, mockingbirds, doves, and many others. We even have a nesting pair of bluebirds that return year after year. Occasionally, a small black bear may wander through the area as well.
We want your stay here to be peaceful, relaxing, and filled with opportunities to experience the natural beauty of Garcon Point. The area is home to several species of wild carnivorous plants, beautiful beaches, and unique ecosystems found nowhere else.
After 6 years of hard work, challenges, and perseverance, we are proud to say that we are officially a park and preserve. Our property features 9 acres of walking trails, with additional trails still being hand-built. Every path is created with care and respect for the land.
I truly believe this place carries a special spiritual strength that speaks to people from all walks of life and all nations.
A Brief History of Our Location
Following the Bernardo de Gálvez victory during the Siege of Pensacola, a land grant on Garcon Point was awarded to Antonio Garzon in recognition of his service as an interpreter to the Pensacola Indians. The property remained in the Garzon family for 35 years before being sold by Maria Garzon to Joseph Bonifay.

A few notes on the property:
Most people have never used an EcoToilet and don’t realize it takes some work. If you have children, you will very likely have to do this part for them.
We keep the lounge area as clean as possible but at the end of the day it is an outdoor kitchen! Kitchenwares will have a layer of dust even if cleaned the day prior, so please give everything a rinse before you using!
You may read about mosquitoes in some of our past reviews, but I am happy to share that we now have a monthly mosquito service in place that has mitigated that issue :)

Large parking lot but watch for low power lines. Beach Cruiser Bicycle repair and gas motorized bicycle repair and sales. Have bicycle tires tubes and many bicycle parts in stock!
I only have 1 site renting, the parking lot is never crowded with other vehicles. Great place to park, no detours off of HWY 29, just pull in and pull out, circular drive and parking lot. Direct access to other Highways like Hwy 65. No alcohol at this campsite, serenity. AA meetings if you would like. Property established in 1963.

Plenty of potable water, and plenty of hot water in the bath house.
Trails into the woods and out to a wetland where beautiful pitcher plants dot the terrain.
High-bush blueberry bushes out there will please both bear and people alike.
I had a very comfortable stay at Joseph’s land.

We had an amazing stay at The Wandering Path! From the moment we booked, the entire process was simple and hassle-free. Everything was exactly as described, making it easy to arrive and settle in right away.
The campsite was clean, well-maintained, and provided the perfect setting to relax and enjoy nature. One thing that really stood out was the bathhouse—it was exceptionally clean and well cared for, which made our stay even more comfortable.
Amanda was a wonderful host. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit, making sure we had everything we needed.
One of our favorite parts of the trip was canoeing on the creek. It was peaceful, scenic, and a great way to experience the beauty of the area. Highly recommend Bobs Canoes! We also appreciated that The Wandering Path is pet-friendly, allowing us to bring our furry family member along for the adventure.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay here! Beautiful property right on the creek. Water was a nice reprieve from the heat. We spent many hours exploring the creek looking for unique rocks, fishing, and relaxing/recharging our batteries. Amanda was super friendly and very thoughtful. Upon our arrival, she sent a message stating she was heading to town and to let her know if there was anything we forgot. Awesome! Loved the outdoor kitchen area! Super helpful to wash dishes as it’s kinda a pain to do so with the pop up camper. Showers and bathrooms were always clean and well appointed. We will definitely be back!

We had an absolute great time!!!! Richard was quick to answer when we had an issue with the main gate. It was nice and secluded along the Styx River. We stayed a best camping spot. Even though it was partially raining off and on we were able to stay dry under our huge tarp. Watched the river rise 3 to 4 feet between Friday and Monday. Made life long friends with our neighbors. And planning trips with them to come back. My only complaint was the briars down by peddle beach camp site. We will be back to make more memories!!!!!!

Such a unique and peaceful space. I stayed in the greenhouse dome and it was the perfect comfortable space to rest after a concert. The common area was a great place to relax and the whole property was artistic and interesting. Would definitely recommend this stay.

This was a great find. The place was very quiet. Dave greeted me when I got there, really nice guy, and it’s basically a pick your spot when you get there based on whether you’re using electric or not. Dave showed me what areas I could choose from since I didn’t need any amenities. It was a nice flat area in the shade for my campervan. I didn’t hear any noise from anybody else all night or even in the morning. Definitely recommend. I’d go back if I’m ever back in the area. He also has two donkeys, two goats and some chickens down the road a little when you drive in so it was nice to pet some of them.
