Primitive camping is permitted at designated wooded high grounds in the middle of the property. It is a 5 and 10-minute rugged hike in to the middle ground respectively. The trail remains under development, so please bring close-toed shoes or boots for hiking throughout the property (depending on rainfall, there may be mud and water).
We have two primitive campsites these campsites are first come first serve, they are not assigned when booking. Plesea see pictures.
Our Glamper tent is a 10x12 canvas furnished full size bed with bedding, pillows and enough floor space for two sleeping bags.
The tens are located off a short trial, but rugged 2-minute hike from the parking area. We provide the opportunity to go camping without having to pack the tent.
Closed toed shoes are highly suggested as well as plenty of lighting with batteries or solar charging capability. This is a rugged, fun and serene camping experience.

A little slice of camping heaven, 41 acres with 800 feet of water frontage on Styx River. YaYa's is a completely primative or boondocking campground and swim area with porta pottie available. There is hot showers available at truck stop about a mile away and they have a dump station for those in RV. Come enjoy all the natural beauty or we are within an hour of hundreds of things to do for all ages. YaYA lives about 1/2 mile away and has a well available to refill your water. There is plenty of fallen wood to gather for fires or cut wood available for purchase. We have a community area with picnic tables, sun sails, grill, pavilion, and large bonfire. Please note the access road is old gravel and dirt, so if in a low car you'll need to take it slow. If there has been rain call ahead for entry directions as part of road becomes muddy. The Wandering Path is true off-grid goodness.
We spent a few days camped along Blackwater Creek, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like the kind of place you come to unplug on purpose. Tall pines, open sky, sandy creek bends, and that deep, steady quiet that only exists when you’re far from roads and routines.
We were there during a cold front with nights in the 20s, and it honestly made the experience even better — longer fires, slower mornings, dogs curled closer, kids wandering freely, and time stretching out the way it should. This is primitive camping done right: simple, intentional, and respectful of the land.
The sites are thoughtfully spaced so you feel tucked into nature, not stacked on top of each other. It’s a perfect fit for off-grid campers, overlanders, tent campers, families, and dog lovers who appreciate space, silence, and stars.
If you’re looking for a place with good energy, room to roam, and a reminder of how grounding it feels to live simply for a few days — this is it. We left feeling lighter and more connected, and we’d return in a heartbeat.

This is a really unique spot that we absolutely loved. We tent camped here and really enjoyed being so close to the water. There’s plenty of shade and direct water access, though you do need to be careful—erosion makes getting down to the water (and back up) a bit tricky.
We appreciated the bathrooms and the small pavilion; it had just the right amount of essentials and saved us from having to carry extra gear. Overall, a great spot if you enjoy a more natural, waterside camping experience.

Weekend Trip to The Wandering Path
We had a wonderful time! We booked a yurt which was so nice, very spacious and the heater worked amazing - we were there for 2 nights in the cold/rain but that didn't put a damper on it at all.
Beautiful property, lots of trails and the prettiest beach right on the river that you can see from a lot of the camp sites.
Great communication from the owner!

The camp site for my son and I was exactly what we were looking for. It had a great location close to the water and was not far from the parking area. The site was clean and we really enjoyed cooking over the open fire pit. My son thought the solar power string lights was a good addition. Another part we both liked was the outdoor kitchen that’s available for anyone to use. The lighting, sink, and countertop area made it so easy for us to clean up after cooking on the fire. We also liked that there was a shower and restroom available as well. You can’t beat the price for all that is available. Definitely will be coming back.

The yurt was perfect and the we thoroughly enjoyed the beach and water area, as well as hiking the trail! Bella and Amanda were perfect hosts!
