Weekend Trip to Sweetwater Daze River Camp

We had a great time. Wonderful view. Plenty of space. The river came with some wonderful surprises. Jay himself was a great host. I needed another 50 foot extension cord and jay brought me one in less than an hour. He even offered to take us out on his boat. Unfortunately we were ready to leave. The spring was small but beautiful and 2 out of 3 times going we had the place to ourselves. We will be back when it's not 100 degrees

We were attending a family reunion in Ft Gaines, this "Private RV Site" was perfect!! This site has full hook ups and is easy locate. Following instructions of the owner and we were able to back into the site with no issues with our 36 foot fifth wheel. Robert is excellant in communicating and answering questions. This is our second time staying here.

11 nights at Sweetwater Daze River Camp

We have enjoyed staying on the beautiful river here several times now! Every time we stay, no matter the month or the weather, it is always a much needed trip full of rest, relaxation and peace and quiet. We sat by the water, watched and listened to nature, roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire and took our kayak and paddle board up to the spring nearby to swim. Since we stayed a little longer this time, Jay offered to come by and cut the grass...and ended up finishing up in the rain. I can't say enough good things about Jay and his wife's hospitality and the campsite itself! We are hoping to come back in a few months! There are plenty of great places to visit in the area and explore. Also, restaurants and shopping a short drive away. We just choose to stay and rest near the water when we come. Definitely recommend this Hipcamp!

We love CampTravelhick! It’s just the right amount of space for us to enjoy a lazy weekend of camping. The fire pits perfect to drive off the bugs or the chill and the kids enjoy roaming the trails and fishing the pond behind the camping area. The dog even enjoys the large fences are to run and stretch his legs. And the full hook ups don’t hurt either!

The owners were very nice and welcoming they bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. This is an actual Texas Longhorn cattle ranch the tour was very informative and fun, and you can purchase their frozen beef. Had a steak which was out for this world bought some ground beef. I would stay there again.

2 nights at Pondview Acres Campground

Wow! What a peaceful gem. I stayed two nights the area for campers is very large and open next to a beautiful large pond. Sites have fire rings and the host provided the requested fire wood as agreed ahead while making the reservation. We were the only camper, so had the entire place to myself. Night time was amazing, I wonder how many dialects the frog language has, they are all spoken around the pond!

Daryl & Nancy are very accommodating and kind. They are truly salt of the earth. The nature trails on site are fun to wander through and get a little lost in.. The bathroom & shower they allow access to has great water pressure and is very clean. Staying here for the week was almost like staying with extended family. I enjoyed my stay and would visit again without hesitation. My favorite part was allowing my dogs to swim and roam freely in the pond.

Nice open space with a country vibe. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others, especially with kids and pets, as the trails, pond and fenced area are a great bonus! There is a Highway close but you get the peace and privacy that you don’t get in comparing it to RV parks on a highway.

What a fantastic spot to recharge away from the hustle and bustle. Our dogs had the best time exploring the woods and running around in the fresh grass. We felt we had our own little slice of nature and didn’t see a single person, despite being a neighborhood of sorts. The homes are very well spread out. The site had all the amenities we needed and we really appreciated having the cover to park under as we got a lot of rain one night. The only thing that is a bit tricky is decline into the space, but we managed with a 32ft class C and tow dolly. The tree swing looked straight out of a movie. We would 10/10 return.

Camp Travelhick is located off an easy on/off main road. A small private driveway leads to an automatic 20' wide secure, coded gate. The camp has two level camping sites. Site 1 is a large 40x62 cement site that can accommodate larger campers/motorhomes with full hookups (electric, water, & sewer). Site 2 is a smaller packed gravel site which is 16x32 with electric and water. Both sites have 50/30/amp connections. For your convenience, there is an additional dump station on the property. Our camping area offers a covered pavilion with two picnic tables, lighting, fans, and a charcoal grill. There is also has an outdoor fire pit for those cold nights or for s’mores! The camping area is about 1.3 acres fully fenced in so pet owners can allow their pets run around and have some secure space without having to worry about a leash. Bring your ATV's or side by sides! The back side of the property has almost 50 acres of ATV and walking trails. A spring fed private 1.5 acre stocked pond with a covered and lighted boat/fishing dock is also located on the property. We love the outdoors, so naturally, we love to camp. We were looking for a few properties that would allow us to get away and camp in a secluded area where we can enjoy nature. We found this property, and with its proximity to Lake Eufaula and George Bagby State Park, we knew that it was a perfect location. So now we want to make this property available for your enjoyment as well! Learn more about this land: Come and enjoy the great outdoors at Lake Eufaula (Walter F. George Reservoir). With your private RV site being located next to the entrance to George Bagby State Park, you will have easy access to all the activities and amenities that the lake and park have to offer. Whether you enjoy fishing, swimming, biking, kayaking, canoeing, wildlife viewing, a nature walk, or if you just want to relax by a fire at your campsite, there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors during your stay. The Park has a really nice boat landing, which is less than 1/2 mile from our lot, so it is very convenient to launch your boat. It also has a marina that is only $10 per day if you want to leave your boat at the lake while you are there, or you can just tie it up at the park if you want to head back to your campsite for a break during the day. When you get back to the park with your catch you can make good use of the fish cleaning station as well. There are also picnic tables, a playground, a really nice swimming area, large pavilions, a restaurant, tennis courts, and a golf course at the Park as well. If you like wildlife viewing, you can take a walk or a bike ride on the paved bike path which is over 3 miles long. It is rare to walk or ride this path without seeing deer or other wildlife (refer to the pics section for more detail of the walking/bike path). We also see deer from our campsite, more often than not, when we are there. Even though there are other residents on this drive, our lot backs up to a large wooded parcel of land and the lot next to this site is vacant, so you will have plenty of privacy during your stay. Our RV is on another site on this property, but we normally won't be there if the site is booked so that our guests will have the whole property to themselves. However, sometimes we have to come in on Friday evening to complete landscape maintenance on our other properties, if so, we will leave on Saturday afternoon. This site has the following amenities: 1 acre of land with plenty of shade, a level gravel pad, and a fire pit. It also has a full hookup with electric, water, sewer, and free WIFI. We pay for garbage pickup as well, so there is a large can provided for your convenience (pickup is usually on Monday around 8 am). This 1-acre site has more privacy than most campgrounds because there are no other campers 20' away and very few people live on this drive. The site has easy access, as it is just a short distance off of the paved entrance road to the park (refer to map in pics section for more detail on location). NOTE: Our site is not on the water, the pics of the lake are from areas within walking distance from our site. When it comes to tent camping, we don't mind if you add a tent, but you must have an RV with a bathroom because there are no bathroom facilities on-site. Can you picture yourself here for a relaxing time at the Lake during the day, or enjoying a campfire at night? If so, go ahead and book this RV site for a getaway while the dates are available! Helpful Information: If you need to shop, there is a Dollar General, Rubos Grocery, convenience stores (gas and bait), bulk ice machine with filtered drinking water, etc. in Fort Gaines which is only 3 miles away. Also, there is an annual park pass available ($25 for seniors) that will allow you to visit any Georgia state park as many times as you would like throughout the year of purchase, which can be purchased at the lodge in Bagby. Other parks and places to visit- Historic are of Fort Gaines 4 miles, East Bank Park 2.5 miles, Kolomoki Mounds State Park 17 miles, Providence Canyon State Park 37 miles, Yoholo Micco Trail 22 miles. We also have a 2 bd/2bth mobile home on a 1-acre lot across the road that we rent out as a short-term rental. So if you need more room for family or friends, this may be an option for you.
