Conveniently situated just off Cullman County Road 222, our campsite is within a quarter mile of two gas stations, two independently owned stores offering short-order food options, and a Dollar General. While there may be some road noise from County Road 222, especially during daytime hours, it typically tapers off in the evening and nighttime.
Enjoy stunning views of the 4th of July fireworks from Smith Lake Park, as our property provides a prime vantage point.
Lewis Smith Lake, managed by Alabama Power, spans 21,000 acres and is the deepest lake in Alabama at 264 ft. The water level varies throughout the year, usually reaching full-pool from April to July before gradually decreasing for the autumn and winter seasons. Please note the rocky shore near the sun deck, which is why jumping or diving from the sun deck is prohibited.
The nearby City of Cullman, located approximately 10 miles away, offers abundant shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Additionally, the city hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, including the Strawberry Festival in April, Octoberfest in October, and Christkindlmarkt in November & December.

300 acres of family land since 2000. This area was called Boot's Bottoms growing up and the name stuck. There is a rock wall close to the campsite that was a old grist mill site. Plenty of wildlife, bird watching, wildflowers and creek walking. Some old ATV trails for hiking as well. Very remote and quite!

Camp Travelhick is located off an easy on/off main road. A small private driveway leads to an automatic 20' wide secure, coded gate.
The camp has two level camping sites. Site 1 is a large 40x62 cement site that can accommodate larger campers/motorhomes with full hookups (electric, water, & sewer). Site 2 is a smaller packed gravel site which is 16x32 with electric and water. Both sites have 50/30/amp connections. For your convenience, there is an additional dump station on the property.
Our camping area offers a covered pavilion with two picnic tables, lighting, fans, and a charcoal grill. There is also has an outdoor fire pit for those cold nights or for s’mores! The camping area is about 1.3 acres fully fenced in so pet owners can allow their pets run around and have some secure space without having to worry about a leash.
Bring your ATV's or side by sides! The back side of the property has almost 50 acres of ATV and walking trails. A spring fed private 1.5 acre stocked pond with a covered and lighted boat/fishing dock is also located on the property. Covered fishing dock has benches for getting out of the sun and relaxing.
Property is less than 15 minutes from a Walmart, Lake Eufaula, many chain/local restaurants, parks, and museums.
Property owner is not on site, but is just a phone call/text away.

300 acres of family land since 2000. This area was called Boot's Bottoms growing up and the name stuck. There is a rock wall close to the campsite that was a old grist mill site. Plenty of wildlife, bird watching, wildflowers and creek walking. Some old ATV trails for hiking as well. Very remote and quite!

Setup camp on the banks of Dorsey creek in Bug Tussle. Wooded area with shade in the warm season. Flat ground for tents or plenty of trees for hammocks. Easy access for vehicles directly to the campsite. Fire ring with grill grates present for cowboy cooking. Peaceful with plenty of opportunity to see wildlife. Primitive toilet present. Rock dam in creek is great to entertain kids, old grist mill site couple hundred yards downstream. Logging and ATV present for hiking and wildlife viewing. Deeper sections in creek present for cooling off in warm weather.

Camp Travelhick is located off an easy on/off main road. A small private driveway leads to an automatic 20' wide secure, coded gate.
The camp has two level camping sites. Site 1 is a large 40x62 cement site that can accommodate larger campers/motorhomes with full hookups (electric, water, & sewer). Site 2 is a smaller packed gravel site which is 16x32 with electric and water. Both sites have 50/30/amp connections. For your convenience, there is an additional dump station on the property.
Our camping area offers a covered pavilion with two picnic tables, lighting, fans, and a charcoal grill. There is also has an outdoor fire pit for those cold nights or for s’mores! The camping area is about 1.3 acres fully fenced in so pet owners can allow their pets run around and have some secure space without having to worry about a leash.
Bring your ATV's or side by sides! The back side of the property has almost 50 acres of ATV and walking trails. A spring fed private 1.5 acre stocked pond with a covered and lighted boat/fishing dock is also located on the property. Covered fishing dock has benches for getting out of the sun and relaxing.
Property is less than 15 minutes from a Walmart, Lake Eufaula, many chain/local restaurants, parks, and museums.
Property owner is not on site, but is just a phone call/text away.

Highly recommend. Love the beautiful setting and hospitality and quick responses from Jimmy. Had everything we needed for a wonderful night’s stay while being serenaded by tree frogs. Next time, I would love to stay longer than a night. Pulled our 34’ RV. Sites 1-3 are perfect if you can back it in!

The campsites are clean and spaced for privacy. The host is very nice and responsive. He has water and other items available if needed. There’s a cute pond with tadpoles that our kiddos love & it’s so quiet and peaceful. I like being able to pick which spot we stay at. All of the sites are nice but site 3 is our favorites it’s in the back and has a nice space to hangout. Theres plenty of shade here too!

The host Caleb and his Dad, Eddy were exceptional. They were caring and kind, helping us setup the electric and water at our site with full hookup. The locked gated entry gave us a good sense of security, coming and going as we pleased. The tall hardwood and pine trees gave a wonderful canopy over the very organized, clean camp grounds. The pond was easily accessible, with clear water and some fish. Myself and my dog enjoyed the hiking trails. , including the tranquility of the area. The camp road and sites have gravel for easy navigation and setup. Note: right now, not all sites have full hookup.

Rachael has taken extra steps to ensure her guest enjoy their stay at Camp 222. The shower and latrine are in excellent condition and the shower's hot water supply is a nice positive. The fire pit, night lights, hammocks, and swing all add to a relaxing and pleasing atmosphere with several spot to lay back and enjoy your stay. If you like to fish, I had the most luck going left upstream on the branch and fishing a little north of Cappie's Boat dock. I would highly recommend Camp 222 to future campers. One negative comment, the camp is just off a fairly busy road. You will hear traffic throughout the day and early evening. But, the positives far out weight this minor negative for me.

I absolutely loved carcamping at Danny's Dark Hollow site! Super easy to find, Danny made it a point to greet us on arrival and give us a quick orientation tour, and the site has absolutely everything a camper needs to enjoy nature to the fullest. If you're looking for a stress free, beautifully kept, natural beauty abundant place to camp, you've found it! I can't wait to go back!

1 night at Bohamia - Glamp/RV/Camp
This was my third time staying there. And the reason I went back is because I wanted to stay again. I traveled to Knoxville and it’s a great place to stop in my in-between travels. The house are incredible not to mention the 200+ acres of land have trails and a pond. Plenty to see and walk around. I can’t wait to spend another night there again. I stayed in an A-frame, which has electricity, AC and heat. I mostly sit on the porch and light a fire and listen to the quiet.
The bathrooms are nearby and are clean with showers and a sink to do your dishes. Whatever you think you are missing, they have I’m a huge fan and will be back again and again.

Great and secluded spot. Photos of the signs at the entrance drive are out of date; just find the power pole in the photo (by number) and turn in at the drive at that location. Opens up into a small glade which is really nice, and continue on to find the trail to the beach. In a Ford F150 we didn’t think we’d make it through to very narrow trees on the way to the beach so we stopped short and camped in the woods. Really good spot though and had a great time lounging at the river.

The entire area is wonderful and the cabin is small but cozy. The atmosphere is wonderful and the lack of bug bites is a huge plus. If you can live without power and enjoy your surroundings, this is a great spot. Will definitely return again soon.
