While there may be some road noise from County Road 222, especially during daytime hours, it typically tapers off in the evening and nighttime.

Lewis Smith Lake, managed by Alabama Power, spans 21,000 acres and is the deepest lake in Alabama at 264 ft. The water level varies throughout the year, usually reaching full-pool from April to July before gradually decreasing for the autumn and winter seasons. Please note the rocky shore near the sun deck, which is why jumping or diving from the sun deck is prohibited.
The nearby City of Cullman, located approximately 10 miles away, offers abundant shopping, dining, and entertainment options. 1.3 acre property hidden in small town Glencoe, AL. Beautiful tall pines enclose this beautiful site in front of an old public cemetery plot that's rarely visited but has a pathway through the woods for exploring, a circle path we named Panther Path will lead you right back to camp. (The name Panther Path has a story. Basically keep an eye out for black panthers in these parts.) Our family and farm animals live on the property as well (Don't mind the rooster in the AM) but there's plenty of room to pitch a tent, bring your small camper or smaller skoolie (If rig is over 25 feet please message me after booking and we can figure out how to accommodate your rig best before arrival.) There is plenty of room for a couple tents as well if you are traveling as a group, amenities include: a brick fire circle, wood garden set for sitting with small table and some privacy from our family but a lot of privacy from the outside world, the graveyards are free to explore, but if you go in the gated one we ask that you relatch the gate.
Firewood can be ready at your campsite for an additional cost. We have seasonal events as well as a farm stand, a bus shop, and a greenhouse. (These are still projects in progress.)
We have two dogs, Boogie - a male and a very large dog, LGD - Livestock Guardian Dog, her name is Maple. Both dogs are very nice and kind. Maple's job is to protect our ducks and chickens from predators. She will bark but she will not hurt you. She will especially love you if you have treats or say 'Hello, Maple!" We will try to have her put away before bookings if enough notice is given. She will not hurt a human, she knows her job and duty on our homestead but she can be nosy as she runs the perimeter of our property often. If you have a fear of dogs or would like to make sure she is put up just send me a message beforehand and I will make sure she is put away secure. She also will not mind other dogs but please make sure if you bring a pet it is kind to other animals and we expect all pets are leashed at all times unless inside your rig.

The Dry Bones Live (Ezekiel 37).
The first visit in 2019 to this 21 acres was both a shock and a confirmation. It had everything on our check list and more - nearly flat land, convenient location, but also twice the acreage, a roadbed, diversity, Monarch butterflies everywhere, access to a big lake.....and it was littered with logs!! They were in piles and scattered everywhere.
But this particular land was being placed in my hands to steward and to reveal the creativity and loving nature of Yahweh. And that meant not bulldozing or burning the logs. Instead, the task was to breathe life into the logs and the land through gentle stewardship to protect the biodiversity and build good soil. Breath of Life Farm is being regeneratively developed to cultivate elderberries, vineyards, peaches, mushrooms, and small plantations of trees for wood or nuts.
My sister, Pam, and I hope that visitors will come to enjoy the seasonal changes of flower colors, watch for foot and hoof prints of wildlife, enjoy the songs of the birds and the frogs, see how many different native mushroom species they can spot, and be marveled by the stars as they sparkle in the dark night sky.
Our wish is that through the years, folks return to see the changes and positive impact of regenerative farming practices. To be a witness to the life breathed into this land. We hope you will be inspired, uplifted, strengthened, and energized by the story of Breath of Life Farm.

What an unexpected and wonderful experience. Not that I didn’t think the site was nice, from the reviews, but my husband and I had a lovely time! We had all the wood we could want for a fire. We sat by the lake in the Adirondack chairs and read and sipped cocktails. We were close to Cullman which had plenty of activities and dining options. Granted, the weather was perfect and we love lazy days at the campsite. The site is right next to a road and I was worried about that at first, but I didn’t really notice too much. There were dogs across the lake who barked some, but not continuously (and I am super sensitive about annoying noises). The port a potty was clean and did not smell bad. My favorite part was the outdoor shower. Such a pleasure. All in all a fabulous spot.

Loved our private tent site! Amazingly hot showers and best campground bathrooms! We had planned to take a hike at Cheaha (very close), but ended up taking a rest day, and our whole family and 2 dogs had a blast! Part of our campsite had a small grade that made it a challenge for our youngest new walker, but I would still rank this 10/10 for a campground! We'll definitely return in the future!

This was a very clean, well kept, and friendly camp site. We arrived a little late, before 9pm but after dark, and it was still easy to contact the hosts for check in.
This time of year it was very quiet, but I’m sure it would be jam packed come race season! We slept well here and will definitely come back to stay.

Rachael has taken extra steps to ensure her guest enjoy their stay at Camp 222. The shower and latrine are in excellent condition and the shower's hot water supply is a nice positive. The fire pit, night lights, hammocks, and swing all add to a relaxing and pleasing atmosphere with several spot to lay back and enjoy your stay. If you like to fish, I had the most luck going left upstream on the branch and fishing a little north of Cappie's Boat dock. I would highly recommend Camp 222 to future campers. One negative comment, the camp is just off a fairly busy road. You will hear traffic throughout the day and early evening. But, the positives far out weight this minor negative for me.

Super easy to find, Danny made it a point to greet us on arrival and give us a quick orientation tour, and the site has absolutely everything a camper needs to enjoy nature to the fullest. We really enjoyed staying at JG's Campen Life. J & G came out and met us at the gate with our checkin info. G led us to our site where we could stay hooked up since the site was level. We were only staying overnight as we were passing through the area. They had a lot of amenities on-site, but unfortunately since we were just passing through the area, we couldn't use them. If we're ever back in the area, it would be nice to stay there again! The area was very quiet and the price-affordable. The local Love's RV stop was roughly the same price and would have been much more noisy. Keep up the great work JG's and I wish you only the best
