Maple Rivers Log Cabins

Like a private little resort, we are excited to offer 3 off-grid log cabins, providing a highly private setting. 20 min to Parry Sound. Address is 261 Star Lake rd. Seguin. Its the second driveway when going north on Star lake rd. Look for a sign MAPLE RIVERS LANE. From Hwy 400, get off on hwy 141. Go east towards Rosseau. Turn left at Tally Hoe/Swords, then right at Turtle lake rd and left at Star lake rd. These cabins are located within 75 acres of forest. Each cabin features either two single beds or one king-size bed (bed sheets only). While there is no hydroelectric power, the cabins are equipped with 12 volts DC lights, fan, 300 watts inverter and and 12 volt car chargers to charge phones or other personal devices. The accommodation is limited to two adults per cabin. Common areas for all cabins include: 1) Outdoor Kitchen (includes pots, pans, dishes, cups, utensils etc.), 2) Freezer/Fridge, 3) BBQ, 4) Indoor Shower (hot and cold water), 5) Outdoor Shower (hot and cold water) and 6) Outhouse with running cold water. The large BBQ is equipped with 5 burners for the grill. There is also 1 side pot burner for foiling water and another ceramic grilling burner. Additionally, we have three tent spots available, with one designated for each cabin. There is ample parking space for guests. You can enjoy the convenience of a shower with hot water and a BBQ pit. Explore the various trails for hiking, mountain biking, and even a small white water creek. There are plenty of lakes in the surrounding area. Seguin Trail is just 1 km away. A beautiful sandy beach awaits you only 4 km from the site. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the nearby historic town of Orrville.

In this cozy glamping setting, you will be serenaded by birds of every kind and will often see deer drinking by the stream close by. This cabin is OFF GRID (limited solar power) but has a wood stove (bundles of firewood available for purchase), propane outdoor portable grill, and enough solar power for very small electronic appliances. Sleeps 3 adults comfortably (or 2 adults & 2 children however msg us if you have any questions). Indoor bathroom with compostable toilet indoors. Many attractions and conveniences only 10-15 mins away in Port Sydney, Bracebridge and Huntsville. Nearby is a the beautiful public Mary Lake beach and boat launch in Port Sydney. Sparrow Lake Camp is situated on the southernmost tip of the majestic Canadian Shield. The site is known to have been a campground for bands of the Huron people prior to the European intrusion. It is considered probable that Samuel de Champlain, the first European to explore Huronia, spent a night on this site in the 17th Century.In 1892, what would become the west side of the current property was sold by pioneer Captain Thomas Stanton to Toronto's renowned Massey family to act as their summer resort. The resort sported the main lodge, dining room, and cottages and was only accessible by train and steamer. From the onset, the Masseys used the site as a summer retreat for the Young Men's Bible League of the Central Methodist Church. Today, the property is a thriving summer camp that also offers overnight tent stays with stunning lake views.

Lorimer Lake is primarily a cottage lake. It is known for its clean fresh water and great fishing. It is a long and narrow lake and reaches depths of over 80 feet. There are many shallow and weedy bays that provide good cover for largemouth bass and northern pike. There are a series of islands that dot the lake from one end to the other. Fish holding structures such as narrows, point rock piles, rubble shorelines, shoals and steep drop-offs can also be found throughout the lake.
