Tips for snagging a campsite reservation

  • The campground is open mid-March through the end of October.
  • The campsites are split between those reservable in advance and those available on a first-come, first-served basis. All 17 RV sites are reservable in advance, as is the single group site.
  • Primitive camping is allowed during the winter off-season (as long as the road is open).
  • Camping fees vary, increasing for RV sites and the nonelectric group site.
  • Cancellations must be requested 48 hours in advance of your reservation for a refund. 
  • One ADA accessible campsite and two ADA RV sites are available. 

    • When to go

    The cooler shoulder seasons are the perfect time to enjoy the springs (open from mid-April through the end of October) without the summer crowds. Aim for a weekday stay and avoid holiday weekends if possible for the smallest crowds. A gray day with a light drizzle can also be a lovely time to visit the campground and springs.

    Our private Campground is centrally located on the Olympic Peninsula. We are a Campground, we are not a Hip Camp, we just advertise through them. Paying for extra days or rentals, wood, propane fire-pits, are done at pay station at Campground or by calling the office. We have 21 tent sites on the West side of Pavel Road close to the river. 13 are river view sites. Just a 20-minute drive to the Pacific Ocean and a 20-minute drive to the straits of Juan de Fuca. Just a one-hour drive from our site to Cape Flattery, short hike down to a rocky viewpoint overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Tatoosh Island, which is the farthest NW Point in the Continental US! We have sites with beautiful river views, 9 walk-in sites, and 12 drive-up sites. 4 of the walk-in sites are river views 4, 5, 6 and 8.     Property nestled above the Dosewallips River with tremendous views of Mt. Jupiter Ridge and the Dosewallips River. You will find numerous hikes in the Olympic National Forest within a short drive, a gorgeous waterfall and swimming hole within 5 minutes, parks, Whitney Garden & Nursery, boat launches, crabbing, clamming & oyster digging, wildlife watching, enjoying the Hood Canal, and much more! Or, just sit back and relax in tranquility, as the property sits at the end of a cul de sac just before entering national forest land. Be sure to leash your pets and keep a good eye, as there are wildcats, coyotes, and bears in the area. Learn more about this land: Pull your RV or trailer onto this lot and take in the beautiful southwestern view of Mt. Jupiter ridge and a peek-a-boo view of the Dosewallips River! Listen closely, and you will hear the sounds of the river below. The lot is equipped with power and water hookups! Please be aware the water hookup is near the main gate entrance and the power is about 40 feet apart, so you may need a long hose (see pic). Enjoy the view from the large deck, firepit, or picnic table overlooking the river, valley, and mountains. This lot is truly a little slice of heaven! Within a few minutes, find yourself at Rocky Brook falls (see pics) for a spectacular view and even a swim if you so please! Pleasant Harbor Marina (also shown in pics) also within 10 minutes! You will also find many hiking trails and parks nearby! There is weak cell service on the lot, so you may or may not be able to connect. I get 1-2 bars with Sprint. While this property is not very far off the Dosewallips road (35 mph), it is generally very quiet and peaceful. You may hear cars and motorcycles from time to time, but very faintly. The lot is at about 350 ft. elevation, so you may get noise traveling up the valley from the residential community below (to which I belong), such as dogs, people using chainsaws, etc. There is hunting allowed in the national forest, so you could potentially hear guns in the distance during the day, but that is rare. There are a few close neighbors, so please be respectful and quiet, especially in the evening. Please bring your own firewood when campfires are allowed and please do not forage for firewood on or around the property. Lastly, while the sightings have been few and rare, the neighbors have seen bears, cougars, coyotes, and bobcats near their homes and this property. So keep an eye on your children and pets, especially if off-leash (your pet of course!) The property also slopes a bit where the deck starts, so again, keep a close eye on the kiddos. You have a very good chance of seeing the local Roosevelt Elk that travel in huge herds around Brinnon (See pics). They sometimes lay down and hang out on the grass on the property! Make sure your pets have their flea and tick updates!

    Incredible location! This sweet cabin is nestled at the base of Mt. Jupiter, directly between Dosewallips beach and the Olympic national Park. There's lots of gorgeous, mossy maples, shaggy cedars, and elk herds roaming free. The Cabin is easily accessible from the road, and has parking available. There's a secluded fire pit behind the cabin with a seasonal stream running by. Its a relaxing place to hang out for a few days, and/or excellent basecamp to explore the amazing forests, mountains, and beaches nearby. Also, there's lots of great foraging to be done (nettles, mushrooms, and oysters; oh my!) GPS LOCATION: When driving to the cabin, your GPS will tell you that 'your destination is on the left'. This is a lie. The cabin will be on the right. There is a metal gate that is closed with a chain but not locked. CABIN LAYOUT AND SLEEPING AMENITIES: The Cabin is just a little guy; only 16'x20'. There is a kitchen, living room, and dining room area, and the bathroom is a separate room - we call it our 'studio cabin'. We have a fold out couch for which we provide linens, pillows, and a comforter. There is also an inflatable mattress that is a tight squeeze, but can allow for four people to sleep (with a little furniture rearranging). There is a deck that is large enough for a two person tent that would also make a four person camp-out comfortable. All linens and towels are stored in the trunk and the bathroom cabinet. There is a 4' round dining room table with four chairs and a small table on the porch with two more chairs. All the cushions for the chairs are in a cabinet under the table inside. ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, the cabin is not wheelchair accessible. There are 5 stairs up to the deck and the bathroom door is only 27" wide. SURROUNDING AREA: There are small trails leading away from the cabin; do not walk down them! They lead to neighboring properties and I cannot guarantee that there won't be neighbors who would be very surprised by a stranger showing up on their land! There are lots of public trails only a few minutes drive in either direction from the property :) STOLEN LAND: This property is on stolen, indigenous land. If you are Coast Salish or Makah, please get in touch with me for a discounted stay.

    Nice campground, clean and pretty quiet. We picked this spot because it was pet friendly and close to the hot springs resort. We didn't do any of the hikes as they are no dogs allowed, but of course the forest was beautiful. Unfortunately the Hot Springs Resort itself was quite dirty, with unclean water and dirty bathrooms, so we will probably not return to this particular site.

    This place is absolutely beautiful with abundant hiking trails. It's the perfect place to stay before or after a backpacking trip starting at Sol Duc trailhead. 10/10 would stay again.

    An expensive place to put an RV with no bathrooms present. The campsites have bought toilets, but not the RV parking area. It was basically a large parking lot with electricity and water hook ups.

    This was one of our favorite campgrounds in our two weeks in Olympic NP. We loved the hot springs and had a quiet RV spot with water and electric. Campers around us were quiet and respectful. The campground and surrounding area is beautiful!

    The campground was nice with clean bathrooms and within walking distance to trails. I wouldn’t recommend the RV parking lot for camping unless you’re in a pinch.

    Loved this campground! It was so beautiful and having the Sol Duc Falls hike accessible from there was great! Just amazing scenery all around and our site was large and private. (Site 28 Loop A). This campground is not super well suited for RV’s, we have a 25’ travel trailer and it was tight navigating the loop. We had to back into our site and lower the front of the trailer to the ground and have one side up on 3 blocks and we still weren’t completely level but we made it work. The site is narrow and we were glad we fit! No cell service except for occasional glitches where it would connect and send me a bunch of notifications and our starlink could not get a consistent connection longer than 10 secs at a time, but that is because we are surrounded by amazingly beautiful, tall trees, so it’s expected. Driving anywhere from this campground does feel far, it’s tucked way back in there, but it was worth it. The hot springs were a fun, unique thing to do as well!

    We car camped in spot 38 right across from the bathrooms and it was great. The sites are overgrown with moss and dense trees and are absolutely beautiful! We camped during first come first serve season where you couldn't reserve a spot but we still were able to roll in at 11 pm and park and get ourselves situated. You can self pay at the info stand right next to the bathrooms with a little envelope slip they provide by a drop box. Site 38 is only big enough for a small tent or a small camper van if you're car camping. We car camped in the back of our Forerunner.
