Recently renovated, still lacking key amenities

The campground was recently renovated and all campsites now have new picnic tables, fire rings, bear bins, and plenty of bear proof dumpsters. The washrooms received a fresh coat of paint—but not much else—no soap or even lights. Many sites have sloped parking ares, so if you're camping in a rig be prepared to use leveling blocks or rocks.

Stunning. High elevation, some need to acclimatize. Great access to many hiking trails of various levels- Cathedral Lakes are a must!

So sad. We love the Tuolumne Meadows area and have visited many times on trips where we've stayed in Yosemite Valley or Mammoth. We had a camping trip to Tahoe planned and decided to take the long way home over Tioga Pass and stay 2 nights at Tuolumne Meadows. We booked our site online on the first day that reservations were open. On our reservation we indicated that we had two tents (one large, one small). Upon arrival, our site was already assigned and the campground full. Our entire site was a sloped hill and full of large rocks. Not a single place to pitch 1 tent, much less 2. Ranger said we could not switch. We opted to drive 4 more hours home (after already driving 4 hours to get there from Tahoe). Will never try to camp here again.

Very very easy to get permits for half dome if you get them at this ranger station.

Camped here this August, and we had a great time! Sites are a little close together, but I think this is less of a party crowd vs. what you'd find in the Valley, so its a little quieter, despite the size. Our site in Loop A had great access to the General Store and the meadows near Lembert Dome. The hike to Elizabeth Lake also starts in this campground at the back of Loop B, so very easy access to hiking! Overall, I love Tuolumne Meadows and this campground. Definitely consider spending time here if you are visiting Yosemite. Plus, you don't have to reserve ahead of time - 50% of the campsites are first-come, first-served, which is awesome!

I don't know why the description has the Bike/Hike option drawn through. TM campground definitely does have a backpacker area.

This is a great car campsite to stay at while visiting and exploring the Tuolumne Meadows and Tioga Road trails. Loop A is closest to the water and really gorgeous, but all the sites in Loop A are very close together. There are some sites in Loop D that are more spread out and while you can still see your neighbors, you won't necessary hear them. Make sure to explore Lyell Canyon (as far as you want to go), the Cathedral Lakes (super impressive 7-8 mile round trip), and Glen Aulin High Sierra camp (12 miles round trip). We've also stayed here as a great first night campsite after driving in and before heading out on various backpacking trips.

Camp here and hike up to Lower Cathedral Lake, about 5 miles, for some of the most beautiful sights you will see. Make sure to get up and out early so you can picnic lunch up there, hang out and make it back by sunset.
Lyell Canyon Creek, about 3-5miles outside the Meadows has amazing spots along the creek to put up a hammock and enjoy some reading in the woods.

Sites in the A loop give you the easiest access to the river. While it is (freezing) cold throughout the summer, there are some good spots to swim, and depending on the water level, a great natural waterslide.

Super packed and high traffic. People come and go at all hours of the night! Didn't sleep at all both nights even though I was tired from hiking Mt.Dana, the lakes, etc. When it rains, which it did, a small rivers flows thru, watch where you pitch your tent
