The property has been in our family for three generations. Surrounded by crown land and 200 acres of bush. Originally a Walnut farm , some old, large old walnut trees survive producing creamy, organic walnuts and summer shade. Both Walnut and Dargo riverside campsites have access to private river frontage and deep swimming holes. Perfect for small groups or families wanting a secluded camping spot.  The Walnut campsite caters for campers/glampers looking for an easy camping adventure with amenities. Guests can BYO tents or rent either a glamping tent or Roy's hut.  The Dargo Riverside paddock is suitable for experienced self campers, no amenities offered at present. Located just 11 km from the Dargo Hotel. Cowa is a small Victorian Rural Location within the local government area of Wellington, it is located approximately 201kms from the capital Melbourne.  - Dogs welcome. - Campfires permitted check fire restrictions before lighting a fire.

An off-grid secluded, riverside hut and campsite in Victoria’s pristine Alpine wilderness. Dargo is located in Victoria’s unique Alpine Ranges. 90km from Bairnsdale, 320km from Melbourne. Access from Hotham/Harrietville over the scenic High Plains Road. Hideaway at Roy’s hut with stunning riverfront and rugged mountain views. Snuggle up and enjoy the warmth from the wood heater, extremely comfortable king bed and luxurious linen. Enjoy the shade of the walnut trees, swim in the pristine Dargo river, sit by the campfire, have a steaming bush bath, fall asleep to the sound of the river, wake up to your own private fishing spot and brew a pot of tea or fresh coffee. Our riverside camp kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a peaceful, comfortable and easy camping experience. All bookings come with Roy's hut and outdoor bathroom including flushing toilet , hot shower and outdoor bath. Tents can be added to your booking or self campers. Our second stay at Roy's hut and just as amazing as our first. The location is simply paradise and the facilities are immaculate. I would give it 6 stars if I could

Beautiful place just outside of town. We had a group of 8 adults with 3 young kids, staying in a tent, two campers and a small caravan, access was fine and its easy to find. River is beautiful and clean, plenty deep enough to swim in or fish, and the camp area offers good shelter from the elements. Highly rate this place, we'll be back!

We loved swimming in the river and cooking in the large outdoor kitchen. I especially liked sleeping in the king size bed and bathing in the outdoor bath surrounded by wonderful views.

Lovely site right beside the pristine Dargo river. You have the site to yourself which is wonderful. Phoebe gave excellent directions so it was easy to find.

As always Pheobe and Grants spot on the creek is nothing less than spectacular, quiet, spacious, private with the best lil swimming hole . 5 adults this time with all of our kids ages 4-17 and they all made beautiful memories and had the best time. Thank you for sharing your lil slice of heaven with all of us . See you again for Easter ❤️

Great spot! 4th time for us and definitely not the last! Camp-site has been enlarged a bit and the grass was cut before we arrived so it was all easy to access and set up. River frontage is well shaded and the river nice and cool on those warm days. Phoebe and John are top hosts, but I don't want to heap on too much praise as we'd like to keep the site to ourselves. Thanks again Phoebe, see you in 2025!😁

We had an amazing stay, this is the best place we have ever camped. Perfect for our extended family that loved having an awesome camp kitchen that have everything you need. The hut was incredible and comfortable. The only problem was that we didn’t stay longer.

This place was great met our expectations close to town River running along side camp 4wd tracks galore Dont think u could ask for much more Unfortunately no reseption when we went up not sure if due to resent storms but was good to get away from the hussle and grind

We love camping in this shady, grassy, flat spot. The kids had a ball in the clear river. All day shade meant no additional canopy required. The passing traffic caused some dust but it was Easter so expected it to be busy. Nearby dargo pub did an exception meal and coped admirably with the hords.

Absolutely beautiful, private, secluded, plenty of space for the kids to run around and to set up camp. If you love being by the water and having space to stretch out without worrying about other campers than this spot is for you. The grass was maintained the water was crystal clear, shallow in some areas and much deeper in others for those who like to go all in. Wildlife galore we were greeted by deer, platypus wallabies & a resident goanna This spot is that good I’m tempted to leave a bad review just to keep its beauty a secret We will definitely be back thanks Pheobe

Best spot in Dargo! 3rd time there and we hope we can bag it for next Christmas! Grass had just been mowed, and the river was down and easily accessible. We swam, we sat in the sun, unfortunately not able to look at the stars due to overcast weather. One point I'd like to high light is that we did get a bit of rain, heavy at times, the site drained away very quickly, and we were left high and dry! Nice also to see some more areas opened up. Thanks Phoebe, this is the top spot in Dargo.....

The perfect camping spot alongside the beautiful Dargo river. Phoebe was responsive, friendly and the directions brilliant. Relaxing family trip at the most beautiful spot. Great big flat area for camping, gentle slope down to waters edge with a pebble/rock beach. Private and pristine with plenty of shade and a great big paddock for a game of cricket. Loved it.

We had a lovely couple of days camping at this beautiful spot! Gorgeous gum trees down near the water are the perfect spot to sit and relax. Even though it rained, we had our vans set up on the flat grassed area which was very well maintained and worked fine. Great communication with Phoebe including detailed instructions on how to get there. We still missed the gate 😂 but were able to turn our vans around about a klm up the road. Would definitely recommend this lovely camp - it’s a beautiful place to experience the high country!

Honestly one of the very best swimming spots I've ever been to! The river is cold and crystal clear, with inquisitive lizards, amazing bird life and a sandy bank. Heaps of spots to pitch a tent, pop a camper trailer or wrangle a caravan into and a huge area for kids to ride bikes/motorbikes/toys etc around in. Phoebe even mowed a race track into the grass for our kiddos! We had the most relaxing slow weekend away. Phoebe organised wood for us and it lasted the whole 4 days easily! This was a fabulous spot for families and we would highly recommend it. Phoebe is an excellent communicator and super welcoming! She's also just up the road if you need anything which is comforting to know!

We had a great time at Dargo Riverside Paddock. Nice secluded spot with easy river access. We had a large group and there was plenty of flat spots for camping. Would recommend.

Lovely spot on the river. Great spot for a swim on a hot day. Nice flat shaded camp spots. We were a group of 5, but would suit much larger groups. Plenty of wood from the pre purchased supply. Would definitely return.

The camp area was nice and dry compared to most of the public spots we passed on the way in, despite the recent weather. Plenty of fire wood, makes the purchase of it very, very worthwhile! Easy to access and plenty of spots to use
