We are a professional sled dog kennel that runs a summer tour operation, as well as hosts overnight guest in clamping rental accommodations. We are located just 30 minutes south of the famed Denali National Park & Preserve, right off the Parks highway in the quaint village of Cantwell. We are in a very accessible location that is perfect for those searching for a stay close to the National Park and other local attractions, but far from the crowded tourist areas near the entrance of Denali. At our property you will have the unique opportunity to stay with a real team of sled dogs and book a discounted tour if you want. Your accommodations are cozy, yet rustic, private and peaceful. We are off a gravel road and a short walk to the Jack River or up to the tundra. We are off-grid so all of our power is generated by generator or solar, and the tent will have a small solar charger for cell phones & tablets, but no large voltage electronics. We haul all of our water either from the river, a local spring or the gas station so we ask those staying with us are conscious and willing to limit their consumption of water here. We are in bear country, so while our sled dogs act as very good bear deterrent, we still ask people to be smart when walking around the area or storing food. Please be respectful of wildlife and keep a safe distance, make lots of noise when hiking. There is good AT&T and verizon reception here, but we do not offer wifi connectivity so take the opportunity to read a book and disconnect for a bit. We live on the property and will be able to help from 8 am to 10 pm, so contact us with questions or concerns. We hope you'll join us for a stay, surrounded by gorgeous views that you won't forget!

Canvas tent · Sleeps 3
The Lynx tent is a 10x12 ft canvas wall tent that is built up on a wooden platform and framed with hand peeled spruce poles. It offers a comfortable stay close to Denali national Park and Preserve while escaping the chaos of the tourist area right near the Park entrance. We are 30 minutes from the National Park, a 3 acre property that is home to Wildthingz Dog Mushing, our summer sled dog tour operation. We offer sled dog tours to visitors June through September, and you can stay with us and have the opportunity to meet our dogs and go on a discounted tour as well! The tent offers all the cozy amenities to step up your camping game : a queen sized bed and a twin size floor mattress for a 3rd person, a kitchenette with all the cooking essentials, including a propane 2 burner stove, pots, pans, utensils, dishes, french press & Coffee fixings, drinking water and more. There is a small table and stools to eat or have your coffee, camp chairs, a fire pit, hammock and large cooler for storing food. We don't have running water or septic so you will have a private outhouse and hand pump for washing, as well as hand sanitizer. We are off-grid so you will have a small solar power setup, great for charging phones, tablets or other small electronics. We make all of our own power and haul water so this is an eco conscious lodging option that appeals to those looking for a rustic stay with some creature comforts. We hope you'll stay with us and enjoy a lovely stay, surrounded by endless beauty.

Bear Cabin Glamping

Canvas tent · Sleeps 3
Update for 2025: PLEASE READ! We will be updating this structure so it will be a small A-Frame. All amenities are the same, but we will update photos after completion of the listing. Our canvas wall tent is built on a wooden platform to give you some protection from the alpine elements of Alaska. It is sequestered in a corner of the property, where you will be able to see other lodging accommodations while maintaining your own private space. We don't have many neighbors, so it tends to be peaceful, except the occasional Cessna landing on the airstrip behind us or the howl of our Alaskan Husky sled dog team - all just very normal Alaskan sounds! Expect to see us, your hosts, and potentially other guests, but people tend to keep to themselves and have a peaceful, quiet experience here. The tent is 10x12 ft on a platform, outfitted with a full size bed and twin size mattress that rolls out for a 3rd guest. There is a small kitchen with all the cooking & eating basics (pots, pans, dishes, bowls, oil, utensils etc.) The tent comes with a cooler for storing food and people generally get ice from the gas station up the road. There is a small propane heater to keep you warm on chilly mornings or evenings and lots of extra blankets. All linens are provided and made up for you upon arrival, but daily housekeeping is not available. We provide drinking & washing water, but this is a "dry" accommodation so there is no toilet or shower. You will have a private composting outhouse and solar shower & sanitizer for the bathroom.

Moose Cabin
Cabin · Sleeps 2
Welcome to the Moose Cabin! This adorable little log structure stands at 12x12 ft, a quaint mountain getaway in the Denali borough. please do not book this if you are uncomfortable being away from hustle and bustle and having off-grid amenities. It is easily accessible by car from the Parks Highway, a 30 minute drive from Denali National Park. Enjoy some of your normal comforts while stepping outside your comfort zone with a semi-rustic lodging experience. The cabin is a cozy log cabin that has all the essentials for your stay. Most would consider it a "tiny space" but we have made it as efficient as possible! There is a comfy futon bed with memory foam topper - dogs are welcome if they are leashed on the property and are well behaved! This cabin is DRY which means no running water. We provide water for drinking, washing up, dishes etc. If you wish to shower, there are showers for a small fee available at the Vitus gas station or RV park down the road. We are an eco-conscious business so we appreciate people being mindful of their waste and water use. The Cabin is heated by a propane heater. You will have your own outhouse right outside of the cabin, with baby wipes and sanitizer for keeping clean. There is also a fire pit and charcoal bbq so you can relax in your camp chairs and cook a nice meal outside! There is a kitchen area with a 2-burner propane stove, sink and cooler. All cooking and kitchen essentials are provided. we are 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🟰☮️ hosts and invite everyone to join us for a stay 💕
