⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hidden Branch: A Peaceful Getaway for the Whole Family
We just got back from a weekend at Hidden Branch in Clay County, Alabama, and it was everything we hoped for and more. We brought our camper, our nephew, the grandparents came and hung out during the day, and our two spoiled Maltipoos—and everybody had a great time (yes, even the dogs).
The campground is tucked away in the woods, super quiet and peaceful, but with all the hookups and conveniences you want when you’re camping with family. Our site was clean, level, and surrounded by trees, giving us privacy and shade.
The grandparents enjoyed sitting by the fire, sipping coffee, and watching the birds (and the chaos) from their lawn chairs. And the dogs were in heaven—plenty of smells to sniff, squirrels to stare at, and soft naps in our laps.
The host was incredibly kind and attentive. They invited us to join their family in lighting of fireworks on the 4th but we gave them space and let them enjoy their families and just watched the fireworks show from our camper, it was great.
At night, it was so quiet you could hear the frogs and owls. We sat around the fire, made s’mores, and just enjoyed the stillness—no phones, no stress, just family time.
If you’re looking for a peaceful spot to relax with your loved ones—young and old—Hidden Branch is a perfect little escape. We’ll definitely be back!

Loved how well kept the grounds are. Campsites maintained better than a room in a four star hotel. Even the gravel was raked and picked clean of debris.

My family and I just took our first camping trip here since having all of our children. We stayed in tent site one and had multiple tents set up to fit our whole family. Then still had plenty of room for the kids to run and play! It’s a nice private spot down the hill from the rv sites. It had a fire pit in our area, and an outdoor cooking area with a water hose right across the road and bathroom, shower, and pond up the hill. Caleb was super friendly and easy going, and his dad stopped by our site to introduce himself and brought us some fire wood.
When we went fishing we caught a few small bass and one really big catfish. It was a lot of fun, but we did see a snake swim across the water when we first got to the pond so be careful. We got way more bites when going in the afternoon than morning time.
All and all we had a great time and are looking forward to going back!

Hidden Branch Campground is beautiful and peaceful. Nothing to do — and that’s a GOOD thing! Spent most of my time just listening to birds and reading; even downloaded a Bird Identifier app! (Yes, the WiFi is good enough for that.). Hope we can come back soon.

It’s clean. I was the only one there other than the other 3 RV’s that are left there for however long.
The shower worked as it should once I figured out that the hose to the water filter had been disconnected. I hooked that up, followed the instructions inside the shower and it was pretty easy.
I ignored the Trump and religious signs. This review has nothing to do with those.
The sites are pretty good, except I wouldn’t recommend site 1. You’ll be within 5 feet of your neighbor with nothing in between. The host was more than happy to let me move to a different site which I did. The campground is gated. I thought that was a nice touch and was ready to recommend this to anyone wanting to feel more secure while camping.
Now the rub. The host has some high tech cameras set up to watch your every move. Look above the showers on the pole. I found this to be creepy. I said something to the host and his reply was, “because I’ve had things stolen. Not from the campers, from neighbors”. I don’t buy it.
As I said, it’s gated. Unless some neighbor is crawling through the thick forest and carting out only what they could drag back though the forest, the reason for the cameras does hold water.
Sleeping in a tent and think you’ll pee outside?
He’s watching. Cooking? Being watched.
Picking your nose? It’s all caught on camera and I felt uncomfortable the whole time. I closed my blinds.
The WiFi worked great. After the cameras, I didn’t trust that either.

this is a great hidden gem campground. gated so you feel very secure. very clean, level sites with water, electric and wifi. secluded in nature, very quite., picnic tables, fire rings., outdoor kitchen, pond, hiking trails and even books to read! would highly recommend this campground.

Caleb was an excellent host and his property made for a great get away. If you’re looking for a beautiful, remote place to station your RV or prop up a tent this is the place for you. I’ll definitely be back for another weekend trip.

We loved our stay at Hidden Branch! It was very peaceful and relaxing. There were 2 other campers there, but we never saw anyone. The property was nicely wooded, very clean, and easily accessible. We brought our dirt bike and 4-wheelers and road around the property. It felt very safe and secure as there were cameras set up around the property and a locked gate at the entrance. Will definitely be back! Caleb was very responsive and helpful when messaging, too😁

We absolutely loved campsite #4. It’s so relaxing listening to the crackle of the fire and the fountain in the pond. It was nice being able to take a hot shower. We will definitely be staying again.

My husband and I had a great time at Hidden Branch! We stayed at tent campsite #1 which was more secluded from the rest of the campground but just a short walk to water and the outhouse. Very friendly hosts and we would definitely stay here again!

It was a peaceful weekend out in the Clay County wilderness.
I tent camped on tent site #3 overlooking the pond and had that whole campground to myself! I had perfect camping weather with a bit of much-needed rain on Saturday. Hidden Branch is a nice small campground with everything you need for a great experience. For us tent campers they have an outhouse and a shower with on-demand heated water. After you've worked hard to get your campsite set up that shower is glorious! The hiking trail is a nice addition to get out and stretch your legs.

Hidden Branch was a wonderful alternative to the state park during such a busy weekend. It is in a great location to enjoy scenic drives and hikes in the Cheaha wilderness. Site 1 was big, felt private, and had all the amenities you could want, including a fabulous wi-fi connection! You don't get that very often. Thank you for a lovely stay on your beautiful property.
