Heavenly Grace Farm
in Heavenly Grace Farm, MississippiWonderful farm, no light sleepers!
Erica's place is just amazing. A short drive from major roads, but you feel like you've stepped into old Mississippi country. She runs a beautiful farm full of amazing animals. The site is between the main house and a small side barn. The ground is a little uneven, but we slept comfortably in a tent and parked our RV to the side. Her horse Magic is truly just that, MAGIC. Her other animals are also lovely and offer a lot of interest and value to any guest. She let my 4 yo follow her around for morning chores. Just cannot say enough good things about Erica, her wonderful animals or her beautiful farm. If you need a place to stay on your way through, or are looking for a multiple day experience in MS, We truly recommend this place. So much experience for the cost. The only negative thing we could say is that the campsite is next to the pond, which is full of ducks and swans and geese. These birds screech all night, and the noise is Very loud and abrasive. If you are a light sleeper, be warned.
RV Parking #1
in Horse Shoe Bend Amite River Camp, LouisianaGreat host, site is a mixed bag.
This place is in a really beautiful location. Close to Baton Rouge but set back in rural Prairieville, with a very old Louisiana Bayou feel. Damon is Very Nice, and helpful. He lives on a quiet loop on a pond. His little dog is the sweetest. His friends, neighbors and kid are really nice. Downsides are that there is a lot of trash at the property and site. Site is not suitable for rigs bigger than a pop up camper or van, due to narrow, tree lined, small uneven ground areas. Sleep is interrupted by a Very loud generator/motor type noise a few times each night, and very bright lights off the deck of the main house all night. Damon was really flexible about our needs and usage of the property. There's a lot of good to be said about this place, but a few things that just made it hard to be comfortable.
Cisco Happy Camper and More
in Cisco Happy Camper and More, TexasPerfect for the right situation.
The hosts are really nice and helpful and respond very quickly. They have a beautiful, big space. Easy to turn a rig around in and plenty of space to park... whatever! They didn't even know we were coming because we booked so last minute, but they were still really welcoming and popped right out to help us orient. We would definitely recommend this site for anyone planning to camp in an RV or similar structure, without small children or pets. The reason for this is, a MILLION thorny, stinging grass pricker/burrs. Our dog and child got hundreds of these in their paws and hands. Our tent got thousands of them in and on it. It was pretty nightmarish to deal with in the dark when we were setting up and breaking down camp. So, if you have an RV/Camper Van, etc, no pets that need to walk around, and no children young enough to be likely to fall on their hands and face, definitely consider this place. It was really pretty, so big, the air was so fresh and sweet, the night so dark, the hosts so friendly and helpful.

in Almost Shoreside, OhioQuiet, safe overnight with hookups
Very good communication with Susie before arrival. Simple pull in site between their house and garage. Hookups were easy to find. Site is very effective. There is WiFi. Not a camping spot, as it is basically their driveway, but it is quiet, safe and the hosts are friendly. It was perfect for our needs just passing through with no hassles or complications.
Country Outpost RV Site
in Country Outpost, OhioPeaceful, beautiful, and cut off
This site is right on the road. It's a short gravel driveway in front of a well kept business front. The road is mostly very quiet, with nothing but farms around and the occasional shipping truck passing through. The property behind the site is really beautiful. Pond, fire ring, beautiful paths through the old xmas trees. Quiet, peaceful and very solitary feeling. However, there is no cell service, which would have been fine if there were actually Wi-Fi at the site as listed. The Wi-Fi can be accessed up close to the owner's house back behind the site, but it's not strong enough to do more than send an email or text. You need to drive about 15 minutes into town to get cell service.
Meadow Camping at D Acres Farm
in D Acres of New Hampshire, New HampshireBeautiful and busy
Set back in a beautiful, rural setting, this is more like being a guest at a commune than camping. The tent sites are in the back/side yard of a house, and there is not enough room for multiple tents to have social distancing unless coordinated with other tenters ahead of time. There was certainly not enough room to feel safe from potential COVID exposure, so we left instead of spend the night. However, for those less concerned about COVID, this is a really beautiful place. A working cooperative/communal farm and homestead type place. Host was excellent about communication, and very flexible given that we changed our plans several times and wound up showing up with a bought-on-the-way little 17' RV. In different times I'm sure we would have loved to stay, look at the beautiful animals and just soak up the lovely cooperative living vibe.
Old growth cedar grove.
in Patricia M.’s Land, WashingtonThis spot, and it’s people and critters, were amazing. Welcoming on arrival. Supremely good communication. Beautiful copse of towering cedars to camp in. They let you pick your spot in there. It’s tucked well back from the gorgeous horses they own and board as well as their house so feels very private. They keep a clean portapotty by the barn for camper use as well as a sink with hot water that can be used by campers. I would give this place 5 stars easy. You will hear roosters, neighbors cows, horses etc in the morning as well as a bit of am and pm traffic on the road behind the cedars. It’s country road traffic. Didn’t impact our opinion of the place one lick but thought it was important to share for those looking for a real “deep woods” feel.
