Drive an hour north of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex to vast grasslands. These areas offer a variety of recreation, including hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, horseback, riding, and mountain biking. It's easy to imagine thousands of cattle grazing here along these sweeping plains.
Head to Black Creek Lake northwest of Decatur for some great fishing. At 35 acres, this is the largest lake in the grasslands. Cast your line from a boat or the shoreline. Hook some channel cats for a tasty dinner back at your campsite next to the lake.
