The Galaxy is a small campground with 8 large spots. It's located outside of Washington, Louisiana where there are no city lights and lots of stars and things in the sky. There is 50-amp electricity with full hook-ups at each site. I have a laundry service and a small dog park. Short term and long term are welcomed. The sunrises and sunsets are exceptional here. I have a picnic table and fire pit available for your use. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Whatever it is that you need we are here to help you get what you want. We live on the Atchafalaya River Hwy. and our location is only 3.5 miles from I10 at Butte LaRose exit 121. Butte LaRose is located in the heart of Acadiana and in the heart of the Atchafalaya Basin, which is true cajun country. Hunting and fishing is the way of life, here. The Atchafalaya Basin is the nations largest river swamp containing almost one million acres of America's most significant bottom land hardwood swamps, bayous and backwater lakes. Many hummingbirds visit here every year. They arrive approximately mid March and leave mid October. There are also many festivals in a close range or take a swamp tour to see the alligators. Check out Turtles bar and restaurant on the levy or The Butte bar 1 mile away. Our Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival and Lafayette's Festival International are famous and near by. In Acadiana there are so many festivals, too many festivals to mention. Enjoy some good food like boudin, cracklings or crawfish. Local Attractions include McGee's Louisiana Swamp Tours, Atchafalaya Basin Landing Swamp Tours, Turtles Bar on the Levee, The Butte Bar, Pat's Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant and the Atchafalaya Club (cajun bands and dancing), Crawfish Town USA Restaurant, Louisiana Marketshops at the 115 (arts, crafts and gifts) and more. About

Access wild areas of a bayou in south-central Louisiana. There is a boat launch, a fishing pier, and a dock. Take advantage of the boat rental facilities if you didn't bring yours.

Fish for a trophy catch of largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and red-ear sunfish. Cool, clear waters of the lake have yielded several record catches of these fish.

Hike or mountain bike up to 20 miles of trails. Some trails lead to a cypress swamp on the edge of the lake. An 8-mile paddling trail puts you up close and personal with a wide range of ecosystems.

Visit the Louisiana State Arboretum State Preservation Area for a real treat. View centuries-old magnolia, beech, oak, and ash trees. The site contains more than 150 native plant species in a wide range of ecosystems.

Reserve one of nearly 200 improved campsites. Fifteen deluxe cabins await you.
