We offer off grid camping pitches and simple glamping on our farm. Stays here are low impact, with space to switch off properly for a few days.
Set within 15 acres the pitches and glamping units are very well spaced out so it never feels crowded.
ŷ Llewelyn is situated, just outside Llanidloes in Powys, Wales. Within the Cambrian Mountains, just 15 minutes from The Hafren Forest and Clewedog Dam and a scenic 35 minute drive from The Elan Valley we are the perfect central location to explore from. So many walking and cycling routes to enjoy then come back to a stunning, off grid base at the end of the day.
What to expect from an off grid stay
Stays here are better for people who enjoy campfires, stargazing and birdsong rather than bright lights or on site entertainment. Power and lighting are limited, so you will want to bring warm layers and a torch, and be happy with simple facilities. In return you get peace, space and time outdoors in Mid Wales.
The great thing about holidaying in Mid Wales is that you are central to everything. Fancy a beach day? no problem, we're just over half an hour away from the University town of Aberystwyth. Here you can take in the breath taking scenery of the coastal path or just enjoy lazy days on the beach. On the way to the coast you could stop off at Bwlch nant yr arian, and don't forget your bike!! With so many trails heading out into the spectacular scenery of the Cambrian Mountains you would have to come back for another stay to get through them.

Set on a working farm, the pitches have easy access from the main A475, giving you good connections with the coast at Aberaeron (25 minutes’ drive) or the indie shops of Carmarthen (40 minutes).
Simple on-site facilities include a shower and loo block, plus recycling and waste-water disposal. With just a handful of pitches, there is loads of room for kids to let off steam safely and have a run around with (well-behaved) dogs.

Your hosts Michele and Chris developed this unique 1-acre forest garden over the last 25 years creating a wildlife habitat and growing fresh food all year round. They have chickens ducks and a very friendly cat! So unfortunately we cannot accommodate dogs.

We lived camping at Celtic Woodland. The 6 astroturf pitches are in a quiet wood which is beautifully lit with subtle lighting in the evenings. The pitches are quite close together so if it was full it would feel quite toghtly packed, but I don't imagine it is ever completely booked up and it can easily hold 3 or 4 groups without feeling too much. The woods are lovely mixed woodland with nice trails winding through them. A nice park for little ones and a great games room for wet days (although under the trees you really don't notice the rain). Toilets and showers are good, as is the kitchen - great facilities giving excellent value for money. We'll be back!!

We loved camping here. The pitch sizes are very spacious and divided by longer grass giving you some privacy. The pitches were in a circle with a playing field in the middle with goal nets. My girls absolutely loved this and I was able to watch them play safely.
Tea and coffee was offered every morning with help yourself service.
There was a lovely area to sit with free WIFI ( if needed).
Shower and toilet areas were clean.
There was a little shop if you need milk etc.
We will be definitely be visiting again next year and for longer.

We loved staying at this beautiful site. Such a gorgeous place with stunning scenery. The owners were very friendly and helpful, the facilities were superb. We travelled by train and bus, so we were very glad we could use the fridge in the cabin for our millk. We went on some fabulous day trips and have fallen in love with the area. One of the best UK campsites I've ever stayed in (and I've been to many of them). We will definitely be going back there!

Well stocked shop / reception that is open until 10PM so it’s great for a last minute stop with wifi that works across the whole site.
Good location as a base to explore Western Wales, we had a trip to st David’s and Haverfordwest and close by areas.
Toilets, showers, washing up station were well maintained.
Would stay again!

I pitched camp in the non-electric area, which is at the far end of the slightly sloping site. It was quiet and afforded some lovely views. Water point is 50m away, on the way to the facilities. Warm welcome from the hostess. Would recommend.

Just returned home from a beautiful, tranquil, relaxing week at Tyn on The Llyn campsite….I wish I was still there!!
Absolutely fabulous site….spacious areas to pitch with stunning views of surrounding countryside. Jamie and Sylvia have gone to great lengths to ensure a happy camping experience….there is a sheltered area for washing up where there is also a kettle, small fridge and plug sockets for phone charging.
A chunky, rustic table is also there for campers to sit when it gets a little windy!
Much appreciated-it’s those little things that all add up 😀
Recycling facilities are top class, including food waste disposal.
We really loved the composting loos, of which were kept immaculately clean all of the time.
The best bit was the ‘shower with a view’ ….3 showers, all extremely efficient, but one of them had a big picture window in it, so you had the glorious outlook of the neighbouring field, with the odd sheep in view!!
Jamie was absolutely above and beyond….always cheerful and happy to help with recommendations….we went for a pretty long walk one day to the well-known Ty Coch beach and pub and Jamie picked us up for our return trip!!
Can’t recommend this gorgeous site enough, would definitely return!
