Our Shepherd’s Hut offers the perfect hideaway with hot tub. Nestled in an orchard, overlooking a private meadow, this hand-built hut combines rustic charm with modern comforts. This beautifully detailed hut offers an idyllic base for exploring the surrounding countryside, or simply unwinding in your own private space. A wood burning stove means it can be used all year round and has a bathroom & shower. Fire pit. The Hot tub is optional and is charged at £28 for two nights payable separately on site.
The double bed is a pull down type operation which is very simple . The bedding is permanently laid. When not in use there is a table to dine.
There are no permanent cooking facilities but a multi cooker can be provided. There is a two ring electric hob with toaster and kettle. An under counter fridge/freezer is in built.
Hot water on demand with flushing toilet.
We can provide additional sleeping if required for 2 persons in an adjacent well equipped Mercedes camper van . Please enquire before booking for pricing.
Fishing available - please enquire £10 charge for duration of stay .

Searching for a peaceful holiday/short break without kids underfoot? Ramble along to Hastingford Fishery, an adults-only shepherd's hut and fishing site set in a scenic lakeside setting less than five minutes’ drive from the East Sussex village of Hadlow Down and 20 minutes from Royal Tunbridge Wells. This site should suit couples or singles wanting to 'get away from it all' and also fishing fans down to the ground. It’s got several fishing lakes to choose from with lots of different species, so settle down on the banks with rod in hand and while away a few hours (or days) in quiet contemplation, waiting for something to bite. But please note, the site is not for 'competition anglers' although there are plenty of good sized carp around. and asks anyone fishing to only use barbless hooks, and for fish to be returned to the lake quickly after being caught.Not the fishing type? Chill out in and around your secluded hut, or there’s plenty to entertain in a leisurely fashion: paths wind around the lakes and through copses/shaws (as this is the High Weald) plus through the local countryside. There are spectacular views towards the South Downs National Park from the top lakes. A spring-fed lake is also on site to cool off in with some wild swimming. Lots of bird life around, with feeders outside each hut and waterfowl visitors to the lakes.When it comes to eats, pick up or have supplies delivered from supermarkets or takeaways in Uckfield, Heathfield or Crowborough or take a drive to Buxted Park for some posh food or pubs in Blackboys, Crowborough, Ringles Cross, 5 Ash Down, Rotherfield, or Buxted (it'll take about 10 minutes to drive to any of these). Lots of sample menus in huts.

We look forward to welcoming you to Setts Wood Farm and will provide you with all you need for a relaxing and rewarding visit to Tenterden and The Weald.
We offer a selection of bell tents or you can bring your own tent. The camping is set across 2 fields and extends to 12 acres. We have a maximum of 30 tents so it is never crowded.
Come and meet the alpacas, sheep, pigs, goats and horses!
We also have a small fishing lake which guests are welcome to use for a small donation. We restocked last year and there are carp and several species of smaller silver fish. It is ideal for beginners and children. Any children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Setts Wood Farm is perfectly positioned to explore Tenterden and the surrounding villages, and is less than a 20 minute drive to the historic town of Rye, with the beaches of Camber, Dymchurch and Littlestone just a few minutes further.

Great site. Amazing woods to walk in and find the rope swings. Showers and toilet at the entrance are ok. Proper toilets in the wild camping field are ok once you get over the size of the spiders. Trolleys provided to get luggage from car to camp site, can be a long walk but worth it. When it’s quiet at night you can hear the pylon nearby. Loved sitting out by the fire pit.

We enjoyed our stay at Oak Valley Campsite, we had everything we needed. The (sloped!) area to pitch was beautiful and spacious. The shared toilets and shower were clean and functional and we had access to a shared fridge. The car park is right next to the field, and there were drinking water taps available. We would definitely stay again, thank you.

A wonderful place for anyone looking for peace, quiet and a chance to truly relax surrounded by nature. 🌿 I had a lovely stay here and really enjoyed the calm and peaceful atmosphere.
The facilities are very good – there is running water, drinking water, toilets which were always clean during my stay, and a shower with lovely hot water. Everything you need for a comfortable camping stay.
Communication with the owner was excellent – very easy, friendly and helpful. I would definitely be happy to come back again. ❤️
My only small suggestion would be to make the entrance a little easier to find. A more visible “Camping” sign by the gate would be really helpful, as it can be a little difficult to spot the correct entrance when arriving for the first time.
Apart from that, everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to escape the noise, enjoy some peace and quiet, and spend time close to nature

We had a lovely time and really enjoyed staying in the bell tents. They were comfortable and well set up with a nearby unit with fridges and kettles to make a cup of tea and washing up facilities
It was a new experience to be woken by the sound of sheep baa’ing just outside and the kids were taken with the alpacas :)
Good location near to the beautiful town of Rye and the beaches at camber.

I loved the peaceful setting of Cattlestone Farm. Looking out to the meadow in the day and the stars at night. The pitches are so nicely done with lots of space and the freedom to choose a pitch. I really loved the shower and loo setup - individual units with an outdoor-indoor feel. You are protected from the elements but the very top section (above head height) is open, giving lovely airflow and feeling like you’re showering outdoors but with nice hot water. A nice way to start to the day :)

Absolutely loved our camping weekend! 🏕️❤️ We went away for an early birthday weekend and couldn’t have asked for a better spot. The land was so spacious, peaceful and beautiful — perfect for getting away and enjoying some quality time together.
The highlight was definitely getting to do a Hug a Highland Cow experience 🐮🤎 It was such a special experience and made the whole weekend even more memorable!

Really great peaceful campsite with beautiful views. We all had a lovely few days at Glassenbury - the facilities were all we needed and the owners friendly and helpful. Lots of space in between pitches and fun tyre swing and bus for the kids to play on.

Weekend Trip to Quaint Farm in a National Park
Our weekend getaway at Matt’s farm was nothing less than perfect. The surroundings are private, beautiful and peaceful and the hut itself is lovely - very tastefully decorated and comfortable. We were really impressed by the attention to detail, and the special extra touches such as marshmallows for the fire were really appreciated! There is a lovely pub and farm shop just 20 min walk away, and Matt suggested a walk around the forest and nearby monastery which was lovely. We were sad to leave and would absolutely come back! The sheep at the bottom of the garden were the highlight - they were so sweet and loved being scratched! Thank you Matt for a wonderful stay!
